  1. When looking at it up close, it did look puffy but then it looked cutout for me. If I look at the shadowing especially on the R, I can see that it is cutout. But if I look more at the right side of the letters (the B) it appears more puffy.

Looking back on the full layout, it does look more puffy but it looks great either way!

I agree, Rene.  In planning my album (and as with all my trips - they are long), I will use only the templates that fit my idea.  Or - use them in different ways to fit my thoughts.  This was a really long trip and was longer than most.  Laurie and I tend to fit as much in a trip as is humanly (or not humanly) possible.  For instance, when we were planning a trip (and Joe was working) to Vermont, we looked at each other and decided that we were going to take in Niagra Falls, Brother Andre's church in Montreal, her relatives in New Hampshire, my desire to at least touch Maine, her wanting to get dishes from a factory outlet in West Virginia.  Whew - that trip had all of us wiping our brow when we finished.  This one had Joe already retired, so a long trip was OK.  I believe we were gone about a month.

I just started a trip my cousin's daughter took with her family last Thanksgiving to Iceland. She posts the photos on Facebook and I download to use in layouts. It appears most of them are going to be portrait instead of landscape (think she used her phone) so will have to look for templates that have more portrait spots than landscape. But most of my templates have landscape spots! Just last night I used a template with landscape spots and rotated it to make them portrait. There were 2 smaller spots that were more square and I did have 2 photos that worked in those spots. I've gotten to the point that I use templates as a starting point and by the end, they quite often they don't even look like the template!

Hi all I started this week with day 1(duh), that one is finished, but the templates provided, are mostly vertical and my photo's mainly horizontal and haven't got the energy to look for other templates, so I will skip this workshop ? I have seen wonderful lay outs just now, always fun to see how everyone makes complete different projects ? Keep up the good work! ?

I'm not doing the workshop but I will offer this suggestion... Rotate the template to fit your photos! A template is just a starting point and does not have to be used exactly as is.

Loving all the layouts from everyone so far!

I love this, it's a great idea and I love forward to the adventure of Mr. Red, he has more adventures that I do!  Back in the paper arts period of my life, we'd make "flat" versions of ourselves (a full length photo of the person - on maybe 5x7 or 8x10 size, cut out and mounted on a stick) then you'd send them and a diary off to one of the participants who would take the "flat" you on an adventure, and photograph and write about it in the book.  I didnt do ones like that but did other ones where I made a diary of the event the person missed and then sent them the diary with the flat version of themselves.  It was hard to find photos of them without them knowing.  but quite fun to do.

15 years ago one of the girls on a scrapbooking forum I was a member of was getting married. I was a good friend of hers and was invited to the wedding. Another member was a bridesmaid and yet another was the photographer. I took another girl as my "plus one". I don't remember who started it but someone suggested we make "stick people" of other members so that they could attend the wedding. A photo of each person was sent to one of us and they were attached to fudgsicle sticks and showed up at the wedding reception! The bride loved it and we had fun with it. 12 of the forum members sent photos, some were of the whole family and others were just the individual. By the end of the evening, some of them were being used as hand held fans since it was a late August wedding!

Thanks for letting me know about that page.  I tried it but stopped because I have no OneDrive settings icon. I never wanted it and never installed it.

I am beginning to think that when My husband set it up to be able to get into my music files a while ago, somehow his stuff is getting into my stuff to put it simply.

That is a possibility if you are sharing the same Microsoft account and have all the computers sync. I have different preferred settings for my desktop and laptop (like background photos etc) and when I set up my new laptop but used the same Microsoft account and it was set to "sync automatically", everything on my desktop changed to the setting I had on my laptop. Once I turned the ability for it to sync off, I have had no problems. So if your husband has sync set up and he uses one drive, it may be why yours is doing it as well. I would look into that but I'm not an expert so can't say for sure that is what is happening.

I still prefer to use either DropBox, an USB drive or an external hard drive to transfer any information between my computers. That way I am in control.

Thank you both.  I think I wondered because I had bought 2023 and waited 6 months before downloading and the keys they originally sent me expired so I had to contact them for new keys.  I couldnt find the page where you can enter your keys to download, and when I did find something and try i ended up having to contact them, they had to verify my purchase and then send the new download email to me.  I thought I would have to do the same again, and I want to put 2022 on and wondered if I would have to jump through hoops like I did with 2023.  Otherwise, in the past (2020) I had loaded 2019, 2020 on both my desktop and laptop with just using the original key and the page on their website.

Do you have an account set up on their website? All of your keys are available there. Every product I have purchased since 2008 shows up on the list.

  7. I've had many different versions of PSP installed on both a desktop and a laptop at the same time. I don't have as many versions as Carole but every version I have had has been on both and it has never been a problem. Like Carole I mainly use the desktop but for a few years I would go to scrapbook retreats with my laptop so it was needed to be installed. Never been an issue. I think at one time I had a version installed on a desktop and 2 different laptops since I had gotten a new laptop and wanted to make sure everything was working OK.

  8. You can turn OneDrive completely off but if you use the sync settings, it will turn back on. I had problems with my new laptop not letting me into my dropbox account because it had me going to a dropbox account that was linked to through onedrive.  I had to unlink onedrive to get to my dropbox account I've used for a long time.

I followed these instructions (found here) :

    1. Open OneDrive settings (select OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon, then Settings

    2. Go to the Account tab.

    3. Select Unlink this PC

If those don't work, try the other suggestions at the link I posted above.

I highlight the text, copy to the clipboard, then go to Google and type in Google translate, it's pops up with it will pop up and click to put your cursor on Enter Text (it's picky, I had to click right by the beginning of the E) and then paste.  Hope I got this right.

I use Edge as my browser so my way might be different than yours.

I highlight the text, right click and one of the options is to translate to English. No needing to go to google and enter the text.

That is interesting. I wonder if it makes a difference where/how you end up downloading the purchased file.

That is probably what makes troubleshooting so challenging when everyone seems to have a different setup!

I always buy directly from Corel and if I remember right, I get an email with links to the different files to download. On my end, I create a folder in my Downloads file and put all the files in there. I still have the folders for older versions of the program. Then I just have to figure out on my own which files need to be installed. They should really put an instruction document that tells what all the files are for in the downloads. I mean, look how many of us didn't realize we had the fonts with our 2023 purchase!

  11. @Cassel In all of the versions of PSP that I have had over the years, there has never been a folder for Setup Files like you have. I have the 2021 and the 2023 versions that you show as having them.

You say it is created when you run the "First" installer. I have always just had one installer file to run to install the program.

  12. @Susan Ewart I was talking about any new stuff to PSP2023. I know about all the old stuff since I have my own toolbar that I use (and set up in each new version).

I just want to make sure that I have everything that came in the update since even doing the steps they recommend, the haze feature did not show up. And, from the list of enhancements, I can't tell what would be new to the various menus. That's what I want to know... is there new stuff in the menus.

This brain fog I've had recently has really messed me up and I need things explained in lots of detail! Hope it goes away after surgery.

@Suzy Why do you keep installing those interesting fonts instead of just using a font viewer? That would allow you to keep all your fonts organized, in folders if you want, and only use them when you need them.

Not Suzy but I tried several different times to use a font viewer. It just never seemed to work for me. And, I'm quite boring with the fonts I use so having minimal fonts has worked out great for me. LOL

Also, the last computer I had I wouldn't have been able to use the font viewer. It got to the point that I couldn't even have Picasa open when I was using PSP2021. The computer would freeze all the time. I think there was a gremlin in that computer because it wasn't that old and had plenty of horsepower to run the programs.
