  1. Here is the layout I created to practice the tutorials from the Lab10-Module 7 (Negative Effect - Layered Shape - Clapperboard). It was fun, and every time I practice new tutorials and participate in the challenges, I learn a little bit more.

The negative effect (arrow) is very subtle because I thought the layout was already too busy with all the patterned papers.

I used the template from the Lab5-Module10, tweaking a bit to suit my needs.

Background paper  "Painted Paper2" - Paint paper 05 by Melo Vrijhof (Pixel Scrapper).

Other papers by Kayl Turesson - Pixel Scrapper 2019May Spring Cleaning Blog Train.

    Ribbons: FD_BeOfGoodCheer_RicRac_07 / ps_janet-scott_37941_quilted-with-love-geometric-ribbon

From Cassel: Admission Ticket (Creative Scrap>Tags and Journaling>Ticket) and Brad (Creative Scrap>Miscellaneous>Flair Button).

Fonts: Bariol Bold and Hobo Std

  2. I was away from the Forum for a few days, and coming here, I see so much creativity!

Blending and Texturing; Beautiful Cake; Ice Cream - Pickleball -  Friends; Cute Cats named Poppy and Penny;  Dragonfly Ribbons; Home-canned Vegetables/Split Photos; A lovely Story about a Woodchuck (what I only knew before as groundhog), and last but not least, Candles!

Wow, fabulous work, Nemisis, Sheila, Bonnie, Corrie, Lynda, and Minka!

  3. Dawn, thank you so much for your kind comment! I really appreciate it.  <3

I had the idea of using the postage stamp look on the photos watching Carole's last Masterclass "Using Scripts" when she showed the Postage Stamp Script. As I said before, the Campus and what everyone posts here is always a source of inspiration for me. :)

  4. Michele, thank you so much for your kind comment. I really appreciate it!! <3

If you could only have seen my struggles! LOL ... Yesterday, I was going to upload the LO with the light yellow background, although not happy, when I read the post. So, I gave it a last try, and it worked... It is not every day that the ideas come easily, but it is part of the game. :)

  5. Karon, I love your creativity and work. Lovely work.

Sawnie, it is really amazing what you've created with the photo you had originally. Great job.

Trish, I am happy to see you here again. :) I hope you feel better soon! Your work is lovely and very creative, and all the elements blend very harmoniously.

  6. The month is over, and I finally finished a project for this challenge.

Finding colors was my main problem, and I tried different options for the background: Notebook Page, Kraft Paper, different textures, etc...  I read yesterday a post from Monique (Bootcamp), where she mentioned Carole's tip to play with HSL... I gave it a try, and I liked my first attempt. The original background color was yellow and this is what I got :0

Carole's tutorials: Word Frame, Metallic Element, Yard Stick, and Pop Up Masterclass.

  7. Hello Annie, I am happy to see your smiling photo here again! :)

I understand that this is not an easy time for many people, with all the limitations and burdens that covid brings, but I do hope to see you here more often, showing your beautiful work. Stay safe and well, my friend. Hugs and <3!

  8. Dawn, thank you! <3

I started with a white wood pattern background, which in the end, I used it as the photos mats. But I did not like the text overlay on it, and that was what slowing me down. After many trials and errors, I finally found something that I liked: darker wood pattern background paper and low opacity text overlay.

    Now, next challenge, cluster :)

  9. Dawn, I am so happy to see your amazing work being posted here again. :) This is a beautiful layout, and I love the effect of the photo with the slats script (another one for my wish list), and the cluster is lovely. Best wishes, my friend. <3

Minka, it doesn't look the same as the template, but the layout is very nice! I really like it.

Lynda, I like the cluster with parts of photos, brads... very creative.

Hi Susie, welcome! They are adorable!

  10. I struggled with this challenge for days; whatever I was doing was not pleasing me. To have so many items in one layout is something that I am not used to, and that's why it is good for me to participate in it.

But in the end, I came up with something...

Cassel: NaturalRope2 Tube, BowScript15, and followed her Pinned paper tutorial.

I used a regular shadow for the bow, but I am not sure if I should have done it differently. Bows and Shadows are something I need to improve.

    Fonts: Bauhaus93 and Emily Regular

Now I want to try the Cluster Challenge, something I like to see in other projects but doesn't come naturally to me.

  11. Hi Lynda, I hope my method for the lab tutorials works for you; but in the end, it is more important that you have fun doing something, with or without a method. :) And what you create, although you don't know what to do now, it is for sure an inspiration for others.

Michele, I agree with Bonnie; it is amazing how creative you are, having to come up with something new every day. As I mentioned before, I really like your choice for the illustrations, and you always come up with a great layout, like this one.

Libera, you achieved a very interesting effect with dramatic colors with this technique.

  12. Lynda, nice new additions! I like the black and white Negative Effect very much, and especially the Garden Film Strip. I haven't tried the tutorials, so I wonder if I, too, will have issues with the layered effect.

When I mentioned in my last comment papers and elements, I was referring to my process of creation:

First, I choose photos that will be compatible with the tutorials. In the last LAB, there was netting, so I decided to look for pictures at the beach. After that, I look for papers and elements in my stash that will fit the photos and layout; sometimes, just what I create with the tutorials is enough and doesn't need extra elements. But it is not every day that I am inspired, so it takes time. :D

Thanks for the tip, I like PixelScraper very much and have a few of their freebies. :)

  13. Michele, thanks for your kind comment! :)

I forgot to mention, but Dawn reminded me of the font! I have not only downloaded the one you mentioned, VTKS Core but others of the same VTKS Family, like VTKS Choice - Bold and Cool - Propriedade... I thought I was getting better from this... :D

Lynda, these Lab tutorials look so interesting. I like the "Negative Effect" and the different options you showcased. I also want to give it a try, but first I have to find photos that I think will fit the tutorials, and then... the papers, elements and so on. :)

  14. Here is the layout I created to practice the tutorials from the Lab10-Module 6 (Alphabet beads - Honeycombs - Netting2).

Again I used the Lab10-Module 2 template but tweaked it to fit my needs.

Bow: Cassel's script Bow6...  I love to see those bows scripts running!

I added two elements from the "Seaside" AddOn by Palvinka.

Fonts: Evertone Script - Euphorigenic S
