  1. Ann, Sue, Gerry, Alicia, Corrie, and Barbara, lovely and creative layouts. Nice job!

Sue, I like the tip you gave to Annie about lowering the hardness and opacity on the outer edges, and I am going to this from now on...Like you, I am not a pattern paper person and always find it hard to use them in my layouts; usually, I hide them at the bottom, but I do like the linoleum pattern...  You are the master of Word Art! I love them all.

  2. Annie said: ... "after playing around with a thousand different brush tips and then stamping frantically around the image..." You sure described me working with my last mask!  lol

Your Day 3 page is spectacular!

  3. Sue, thank you so much for your kind and supportive comment, dear friend. <3 ... I am also happy to participate again in the challenges. : )

I love this hessian fabric look, and I guess I have used this paper a dozen times... I look at different outdoors/adventure kits I have, and in the end, I almost always end up choosing this one. : D

  4. Wow, beautiful, beautiful layouts have been posted here. Great work, Everyone!

I am getting behind, and only today I could finish my Day 3 layout. I was playing with the mask and couldn't stop.

Last year, there were not many places my husband and I felt comfortable going, as we wanted to avoid crowds as much as possible. So for this challenge, I am only using photos from two places.

The butterflies are brushes with the kaleidoscope pattern.

Cassel: I used the Alpha-Maker sample again but added the plaid pattern. I liked this Alpha script so much that I will have to visit Cassel's Store.

  7. Annie, both birds' pages are gorgeous. I love everything, the layouts, the colors, and getting to know a little bit of Australia's bird species.

Minka, lovely page with a very touching story about how you got to learn how to play.

Ann, you had a great photo to start and created a very nice layout.

    Great work, ladies!

  8. Karon, thank you so much for your words of encouragement on my layout. They mean a lot to me.

Your pages are lovely! You always show us great and creative layouts from the Lab tutorials/experiments. Great work!... I am still waiting for some inspiration for me to go back to the Lab tutorials. : )

Annie, what a beautiful layout! I love the background color combined with the patterned papers/titles...  By the way, this is a very handsome cockatoo! : ) ...Through the layouts posted here, we can learn a lot about other countries.

  9. Lynda, thank you for commenting on my layout. As Michele said, my confidence can always use a boost. : )

Certainly, it will not be an easy task, and I do wish all the success for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's government. This is important not only for the USA but also all the world. : )

  10. It looks like my previous comment went into a dark hole, so here it goes again...

Dear Annie, thank you so much for your words of encouragement. Hugs, my friend! <3

Val, thank you for your kind comment, but I have to credit Scrapping with Liz (The Lilypad), the template designer. She has created other templates for the Travel theme that I like very much.

Bonnie, thanks a lot! I have to say that I doubted myself along the process.

Thank you all for the comments; they mean a lot to me.

  11. Dear Annie, thank you so much for your words of encouragement. Hugs, my friend! <3

Val, thank you for your kind comment. : )  I have to credit Liz (The Lilypad-Scrapping with Liz), the template designer. She has great templates for the Travel theme, and I've used some in the past.

Bonnie, thank you so much! I have to admit I was not so sure about the result.

You all helped to boost my confidence. <3 Thank you!

  12. Ann, thank you! <3  Being here for many years, I have learned a lot from Carole, but there is so much more!

I  started working on the background with the idea of having a grungy look...  After trying different techniques, I ended up with 4 layers. It was trial and error, and it took me days. Everybody else would probably be faster!

    1st Layer: white background (optional)

    2nd Layer: Pixel Scrapper-2020Sep Artsy Papers "A Beautiful Mess BG-03" - Opacity=75%

3rd Layer: The Lilypad-Allison Pennigton "Simpatico" Solid Backs-Kraft 05 - Blend Mode: Hard Light

    4th Layer: Turkey Text paper - Blend Mode: Overlay - Opacity= 32%

I will add a print screen, so you have a better idea. : )
