Adding my 2 cents... How often are there misunderstandings when talking to a person in front of us and using our own language? At home, at work, with friends and colleagues, and at family dinners... 😄 Talking and writing in a language other than one's first language only adds another layer of difficulty to comprehension. There are nuances that we can only fully comprehend in our first language. No wonder I add a lot of smileys to my posts here. 😉

Susan, you have also been creating beautiful pages, elements, papers, etc. Don't be too harsh on yourself. 🙂💟 I have had the same feeling, and I just did not like what I had done. Now, I am more of the opinion that I should practice the techniques more, post what I have, and try harder next time if it is not a piece of art. 😉😄

This morning, I watched the Halloween Effects2 Masterclass, and I loved the trick of using the Quick Script to speed up a technique I have used quite a few times since I learned it from the Pop-Up Masterclass. Back then, it was shown using the long way. It's good to learn both ways of doing it! Great effects are taught in this class. 👏

Instead of 12x12, this time, I created a layout with 8,5x11 dimensions. It does feel unusual, but I am trying to get used to it. I tried to use some of Anna Aspnes's freebies (MegaPack Plus Class) and elements from other designers, some of whom I recently got to know. Well, Susan, Julie, and Corrie, I also have "big plans" to do something later. 😄 I see so many great ideas here that I want to replicate, and I am also inspired by different layouts I see on the internet, designer newsletters, etc. Well, I guess the saying "to bite off more than one can chew" resonates with me. But I know that, if not all, I will get some done one day or the other.

A designer from the Lilypad site mentioned her in a newsletter, saying she had attended an Artsy Design Course by Anna Aspnes. I am not an artsy scrapbooker, but I have been trying to do things a bit differently for the last year or so —whenever the theme allows, not when Halloween. 😄

Sometimes, I want to make my own elements, papers, and so forth, and then... There are other times I have to use what I have collected over the years... Not to mention, I cannot even get closer to some of the designers' creations.

This is the layout I finished yesterday. It was amazingly fast, considering that nowadays, I take a long time to decide on colors, papers, and elements, so I have something I like or can live with. 😄 One interesting thing happened while working with the cat (Eyespire). I wanted to add a bevel and started playing with the "Randomize Parameters. " At one point, the cat's eyes turned red, which fitted perfectly with the theme (setting below). For the background, I selected the girls, promoted the selection to a new layer, and used the "Time Machine" filter (Effects>PhotoEffects>TimeMachine>Daguerreotype & Albumen) on the background and some of the elements/text. I think the warm weather lasts longer every year than it did years ago. This spring's weather was wet; it rained a lot, which was good after years of little rain. Summer was good—not too hot—and we could enjoy being outdoors. Now, it's looking more like Fall: windy, rainy, sometimes with patches of sun, and 15°C (around 60F).

He has been watching Motivational Attitude videos. 😄

It's good when I don't do anything right after Carole makes any goodies available, as I have the answers to any questions I might have had right here. 🙂 I liked very much how you showcased all the techniques, scripts, brushes, etc., in this layout, Corrie.

I like the layout very much. Mad Max is very persistent, Julie; he doesn't take NO for an answer! 😄 I got to know Katie Pertiet some time ago through Pinterest's suggestions; I like her style. Last week, I even purchased a template —#KPertiet_FramedSpillLayersNo3 ---, which I haven't had the opportunity to use yet, as I have been working on a multi-photo layout for the last trip.

Belated Happy Birthday, Bonnie!💟 What better way to commemorate it than with true friends?! There's a saying, "In good times, your friends get to know who you are. In bad times, you know who are your friends." Lovely layout to remember this day!

We are all learning here, no matter how long we've been here. We learn not only from Carole but also from each other. It's fun, and the community is very supportive.
