  1. Lynda, 2021 has been a bit of a pain for me. It crashes often especially when using the magic wand and the selection tool for feathering etcetera. That is why I always have my old faithful PSPX7 open as well. X7 never fails with the use of plugins. I do not use the 64 bit as plugins are well nigh useless in it but the 32 bit will allow more to work in either version. When I have PSP open no matter what version it is always the 32 bit for ease of use with the plugins. 2021 was a waste of funds for me so I will be waiting a long time after their next release to make sure it is well and truly tested before I purchase.

There is a site where the odd tutorial is very helpful for the inner workings of PSP - https://www.maidiregrafica.eu/tutorial/traduzioniinglese.html

I think the site is Spanish but the link is for the English translations. There is a tab at the very top titled tut tecnici and you will find useful technical tuts in there. It will come up in Spanish/Portuguese but google will translate for you.

If you start using Jasc Animation Shop you will become addicted. I got my certificate in animation in 2014 and this is a link to some of my Pinterest posts for my animations ... interestingly I have not posted the advanced lessons results! https://www.pinterest.com.au/AnnieTobin52/animation-shop-creations/

Love your work Lynda and it will be interesting to see what you think of the Fairymist and Maidiregrafica sites. ;D

  2. Hi Lynda. I have found that none of the versions of PSP work for plugins in the 64 bit operating system so I always use the 32 bit versions. Plus, I always have X7 and 2021 open at the same time because 2021 has a bad habit of crashing especially if I am using the magic wand and also the selection tool when I am wanting to expand, contract or feather. For that reason 2021 is not my favourite version. I am fortunate that I do save, save, save because I am then able to open the project in X7 and the magic happens. Unfortunately for me 2021 has been a waste of funds ... that's the way of it though! I have sent you a private message with some links as they do not want to post here ... 4 failures, lol! ;D
  3. I love your AubreyJakeFranceChristmas2019 page Raymond, you are advancing with PSP in great leaps and bounds my friend. Credit goes to Michelle Fairymist tutorials for the Love of Country page. I simply provided the tube and the artwork of Alan Hunt. What I like about those type of tutorials is that they quite often will bring up the use of a tool that you are not familiar with. They also rely heavily on plugins ... of which I have very many, LOL! Cassel's tutorials help us to grow creatively by creating our own elements etcetera. The tutorials by Maidiregradica are interesting but what she offers is a wealth of knowledge on how to work with plugins etcetera in PSP. All of the peripheral sites stimulate the creative juices. I have links to many tutorial sites and have decided to play around with them and do some posting here. Thank you my friend, much appreciated. ;D
  4. I have been playing today my friends with some of Michele's Fairymist tutorials.  I have followed Michele for many years and I truly love her tutorials.  This particular one is called Honeymoon but I did change a fair bit ... as you do!  I love the artwork of wildlife enthusiast Alan Hunt ... his paintings are really amazing and often times I have to really check to see whether they are art or photos.  Four of his paintings are in this one and they are truly captivating.  Of course, sized down the detail gets lost a bit but if you do a google search you will find many of his paintings to give you an idea of how amazing his artwork really is.  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;D
  5. Thanks dear Lynda ... and, I love your last attempt at playing with paintshop ... wonderful extraction my friend. PSP Pals is still around and this is the link:- https://psp-pals.com/

They work on a much smaller scale than the 3600x3600 that we are used to but it is easy enough to convert. I hope you find something to play with if you visit their site. And, I love your bookshelf with books, job well done my friend. ;D

  6. Thanks Val. I would like to say that I created the script but that would be a big LIE. The two scripts used in this layout were purchases I made a very long time ago. The wild rose on the top right is by Digiscrapations and the rose that is blended in on the bottom left is the Painted Rose script by Joanne's Digital Designs. They are both delightful scripts and it must take the script writers a very long time to create them ... hours and hours if not days and days I should imagine. They cost a pittance really compared to the hours of work so my heart goes out to them and I never complain about the cost factor as I am mesmerized once they start running! Cassel has some wonderful scripts on Creation Cassel ... so her hard work makes our work so much easier! Previews of the abovementioned are below. ;)
  7. Hello again Scrapbook Campers.  From when I first started playin with PSP I have loved playing with blends ... gives so much scope for the imagination.  My first PSP was version 8 when it was still under Jasc and I have progressed to every version since.  I am having a few issues with version 2021 and still revert back to 2017 when the issues strike in 2021 ... not your best version my PSP community!  2012 and 2017 are - to date - my all time favourites.  So I have been a PSP user for 17 years!  A lot of changes have come about in the digital art world in that time and whilst I appreciate the digital scrapbooking concept, tags and animations remain my passion.  I received my Animation cert in 2010 and my Tubing cert in 2013.  Blending with PSP is a beautiful concept and so I have decided to start posting some of my work here ... after all, this forum is, by and large, all about PSP.  This tut was one from long ago by PSPpals and I have made a few changes ... as you do!  I used Cassel's Old Book alpha for the title and it blended in nicely via ... you got it ... Blend Modes!  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;D
  8. This one is because I wanted to create a funky background using overlays ... of which, I have hundreds.  It doesn't seem to matter how many I have I still want to create more!  The image of the rose was a freebie on the web which I masked with my own mask.  I then selected and extended the selection to 50 pixels, added a new layer below the image, flood filled, deselected and then added a gaussian blur.  The smaller rose and the one below the main image were created from scripts.  The doily/lace I created a long time ago following a tutorial for anniversary lace.  It was created by using a corner and the kaleidoscope tool I think.  The poem is by Hafiz a Persian poet born in the 14th century  The part I did not create is the ribbon side border which is a tube I have had forever from bld_pam???  Thanks for takin a peek!
  9. Masks in PSP are wonderful things.  Usually if I want an image to blend into the background I will do a misted tube, pixel range of feathering depends on how far out I wish to extend and how much of the image I want to retain.  I have been playing with Cassel's Maskmaker Script and it is wonderful.  I also discovered that a mask can make a grungy and funky frame.  In this example I have used white as the frame colour but that will obviously be a personal choice.  I did the select all, float, defloat on the masked image and then extended the selection by 50 pixels ... again a personal choice ... then added a new raster layer under the image and flood filled with the white.  I like the effect but there is always room for improvement.

Great webinar this morning Carole, thank you ... lots to take in and put to good use.  ;D

P.S.  The image is from Unsplash and is of the Cassowary ... a large flightless bird from North Queensland ... and yes, you had better be wary as they are a dangerous bird.  :-(
