  1. This page is to pay tribute to the little Yellow Billed Kingfisher.  The roaming territory of this pretty little bird is Papua New Guinea and Cape York Australia.  Again I did my own thing with bits and pieces from here and there.  I have decided not to use shadows on masked photos ... just don't like it, :(  ... each to their own!  Font used for the title is Danish Crack.  Thanks for takin a peek.  ;D
  2. Corrie, what a beautiful Kingfisher! Is he the one they call the Icebird? OMGosh ... those colours are truly amazing. I guess it is only true bird enthusiasts who can differentiate between the Icebird and the Azure Kingfisher ... they look identical to me, lol! Thanks for sharing my friend. ;)
  3. Thanks so much Minka, always appreciated my friend. The page you have created 'Piano' is wonderful, simplicity that grabs ya, way to go my friend. Terrific sketch of Chopin which draws the attention.

Well you at least have 2 avenues to ease the troubles of the world from your shoulders and that is a good thing ... granted that the decision may be difficult, lol! My 2nd avenue is music, I am part of a music group where we have to post one song a day ... new or old, your choice. I could spend hours on either ... much preferable to housework! I have a small vegetable and herb garden which I spend a fair amount of time in during the winter months ... during summer it is early evening watering, watering and watering only! ;D

  4. Sorry Lynda, I did not see your query. Sometimes I respond to a post and voila! ... it simply disappears. It happened 3 times in a row a couple of weeks ago after which I just gave up. Sometimes when it happens I will post again and then suddenly I have 2 posts of the same thing! Hats off to Carole in dealing with these issues.

I see you have discovered that this is the true colour of the Splendid Fairywren. I am saving photos from Australian Geographic to use in creating pages. I myself am amazed at the diversity of beautiful and colourful birds we have here. In fact, I am finding absolutely gorgeous coloured birds from all over the world! Of course they don't always fit with the theme etcetera but they are cool for the What Are You Working On forum. You don't need to go searching as you are a very handy photographer and a lot of your photography is exceptional. ;D

  5. Another bird from Australia, the Azure Kingfisher.  He is a delightful little bird and a real fisherman.  The Azure Kingfisher is never far from water, preferring freshwater rivers and creeks as well as billabongs, lakes, swamps and dams, usually in shady overhanging vegetation. It is sometimes seen in parks on rivers, as well as duck or goldfish ponds in urban areas.  The Azure Kingfisher nests in a burrow dug out of a river bank.

This is a bitsa one my friends ... snatch from here, grab from there.  Font used for the title is A Bebedera.  Thanks for takin a peek.  ;D

  6. Well it is the 1st of February for me here in Australia so I decided I could sneak in another post before the calendar officially turns over for the whole world.

This is another little bird that is endemic to Australia ... the Splendid Fairy-wren.  They live in arid to semi-arid areas, in mostly dense shrublands or woodlands of acacia, and mallee eucalypt with dense shrubs.  Like most of the fairy-wrens, Splendid Fairy-wrens eat mostly insects and forage on both the ground and in shrubs. They live in groups which forage together.

Apart from the sketch layout the rest of the work is my own.  Font used for the title is A Song for Jennifer.  Oops ... I lied, the poem (barely visible and in differing fonts at the top) is by laughing_soul.  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  :)

  7. Bonnie, Lynda, Anne, Minka and Corrie what lovely work you have all put into these pages. I confess to being ignorant of this challenge and I do find that I often ignore the right hand column of the forum page ... go figure! Perhaps it is a brain funk or something ... or an age thing, could be either with me. Anyway, lovely work my friends. ;D
  8. Thanks Lynda, much appreciated my friend. Yeah, I did change up the photo. It is a selfie I took yesterday so very up to date ... no point in trying to cheat time, it eventually catches up to us anyway. The huge glasses are new ... eyesight deteriorating and issues with my left eye. Simone (my daughter) and I had a laugh at the photo as I look cross eyed, lol! ;D
  9. Thanks Karon, your compliments are always very much appreciated my friend. Our Avatars are who we want/need to be at any given time. If Karon wants to be one of her first digital scrapbook pages then that is who she should be. And, we all have a favourite don't we? I only changed mine up because I was posting a photo for Carole's 'Let's meet... with PSP' the Imaginary Virtual Zoom Call challenge. Only 8 of us have zoomed in so far including Carole! Link below if you are interested.
