Hello Campus Friends. I have been asked about the Transparency filter/plugin and what I use it for so here is an explanation and an example. I use the plugin mostly for overlays and brushes/stamps. I search on the net for a nice abstract background paper (or whatever takes my fancy ... freebie of course!). If it is not in black and white then I colorize it using hue/saturation. If it is not square it doesn't matter because I open a new image 3600x3600, select all, copy the black and white image and paste into the selection. It will be distorted but as I am using it as an overlay it doesn't matter. Then comes the fun part using the plugin Transparency (which I have loaded into Filters Unlimited). In the example below I have elected to eliminate black ... it is now ready for use. For the example I added a new raster layer, coloured it with a colour of choice (yellow), took that layer below the overlay and used the blend mode of soft light. Then I added a texture. Once you start playing around with it there a just so many overlays, papers and brushes you can create with it.
P.S. No matter what I tried to do the pic showed up in reverse but I am sure you will get the drift, LOL!

Thanks Karon, much appreciated my friend. It is sad that she has passed on but her memory lives on in her work which is beautiful. ;D

Thanks dear Cristina. The wealth of information you can gather here about our world is also one of my favourite things about the Campus. Wishing you a good one my friend. ;D

I just posted this one in bootcamp and decided to post it here as well because of the number of Campus members who are bird lovers. This is one of Australia's many parrots ... the gang-gang cockatoo. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D

My final one for January 2021 bootcamp. Scrap Kit used was My Memories - Taste of Asia. The gang-gang cockatoo is just one of many of Australia's parrots. Thanks for takin a peek. ;D

Dear Corrie, thank you very much my friend. I think each country probably has their fair share of beautiful birds. I'm not sure why but I decided to do some pages on Australia's birds ... especially the ones that are endemic to Australia. Who knows ... that may come to an end when something else strikes my fancy ... I am a bit fickle like that, :) As for Skype it is sure one of the things that is a technological plus ... others not so much. I can definitely see the difference with using the Laplacian filter, takes the darkness out of the inner corner and makes it easier to see what is in there. Looking forward to seeing more of your work Corrie. Stay safe and well my friend. ;D

Thanks for your kind words Val, very much appreciated Hon. ;)

Lovely job on all 3 pages Karon. I particularly love the Beach page but I am biased because I love the kits from Kimeric Kreations. All you work is lovely Karon and I enjoying perusing them daily. :)

Hi Bootcampers ... project concentration now completed. Scrap kit is Kumbaya by Gina Jones from Pixel Scrappers. Thanks for takin a peek!

This is another little bird that is endemic to Eastern Australia, the Superb Fairy-wren. Habitat ranges from South Queensland to South Australia's Adelaide region, as well as throughout Tasmania. Males are easily distinguished from females by their distinctive colourings: mostly blue with a black band across their back and head. I used the scrap kit Bright and Cheerful by Gina Jones from Pixel Scrappers. The layout was also from a template by Gina Jones. Thanks for takin a peek. ;D

Thanks so much Minka, really appreciate your compliment my friend. Don't worry about missing the i in Annie. My birth certificate states Anne Marie. When I was little it kinda went like this- If my name was called out as Annie then someone was tickled pink with me, if I was called Anna then I was really in good favour, but if I was called Anne Marie there was likely a swat coming up, lol! All in the name!
