Thanks so much Cristina, very much appreciated my friend. I need that liberation dear Cristina because I have so many kits that in my heart of hearts I know I will never use. Yet, everytime I start to action the purge I get panicky and convince myself that I may, just may, need them at some stage! Honestly, I need to be more of a minimalist. I will give it a go again today and let you know the outcome. If I hit the rum bottle this afternoon it will be the best indication of failure, LOL!
Hugs and Love ... Annie T

Playing around with background pages again. This one is to showcase the lovely watercolor art of Lesley Davies. Her work is just so darn cute! The floral bouquet is a tube by JulieO, the title alpha is from ClikChic and the little poem is a freebie off the web. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D

Minka you have created a beautiful page of home (Maine). It looks to me like an English/Scottish fishing village and I don't know why but it provokes all sorts of home longing emotions for me ... born and bred Aussie that I am! I think past lives have a way of catching up with us as we get older, lol! Anyway my friend it is a delightful page and I can totally understand your longing for home. ;D

Thanks Corrie, always appreciated my friend. I did wonder at the name Lunaria ... in the third photo some of the discs reminded me of the full moon. I just Googled it and the official name is lunaria annua and the latin word lunaria means 'moon-shaped' and refers to shape and appearance of this species' silicles. And, you are quite right the origin of the plant is European. I love Google and Wikipedia for info ... ;D

Finally got around to creating something. I expect that most of you have guessed that I am a little obsessed with background papers. I created this one today which started out as something completely different and this is what I ended up with ... nothing new there! I do love the silver dollar plants ... and admire their progression from simple pretty flowers to their silver dollar beauty ... my favourite part really, ;) Title font used is ... oops, sorry, I can't remember! Thanks for takin a peek. ;D

Lovely page Anne, well done my friend. ;)

A very pretty outcome Corrie. A sweet photo of the daisies and a perfect match with the plaid. Simplicity at it's best my friend ... well done. ;D

Very sweet Ann, and I can't believe how much Logan is growing ... time flies. Well done my friend. ;)

I love this page Bonnie and I can't believe that their favourite snack is fresh green grass! My cats only eat grass when they want to barf! Maybe you have a different type of grass over there. I love how Penny is about to ring the bell ... keep up with it Mom! Another smiley one for me Bonnie, thank you. :)

Lynda, Cassel also has a tutorial under the Intermediate lessons - textures - textured overlay ... it is excellent. I know you like to play around so you will have no trouble following and doing your own thing. Have fun my friend. ;)

Another go Lynda ... got my fingers crossed, ;D

Thanks Lynda, much appreciated. :)
The techniques I use to create background papers are as follows:-
1. Find a non copyright graphic that you like (I usually go for abstract flowers through pixabay or somewhere like that).
2. Resize to 3600x3600 (doesn't matter if it goes out of shape as you only want it for an overlay).
3. Adjust Hue and Saturation, colorize, sliders at zero.
4. Then apply the filter Eliminate White (sometimes I will use eliminate black but mostly white). At this point I save the image as a .png for future use.
5. Open a 3600x3600 blank image and flood fill with a solid color to suit your project.
6. Add the .png image as a new raster layer.
7. Adjust the blend mode to whatever you prefer along with the opacity. In the following example I used soft light and left the opacity at 100.
8. Merge visible and apply a texture (I used Filters Unlimited, Paper Textures, Canvas Fine.
I hope this makes sense for you Lynda but should you need any clarification on anything just holler! The images below are numbered 1 - 8 in order of above ... just in case they lose their order when uploading. ;D

This is my play for today. I really admire this type of art and I have quite a selection of it so I decided to do some pages using them as I would a photo. The background paper is my own using filters unlimited an overlay and blend mode change ups. The artwork came from pngegg, stone heart tubed by calguis, wordart was a freebie off the web, faded rose tubed by jhanna, leaves by miggins, brad unknown, title font Gardenia and font used for the quote is Emily regular. Thanks for takin a peek. ;D

Corrie, anyone would be delighted to get this HB card from you, it is really lovely. Well done girls ... beautiful work by all. ;D
