  1. Hello Scrapbook Campers.  I have been playing around with Lab 11 Module 3 and decided to use it to showcase the Rainbow Bee-Eater.  All my own work including the scatter and heart border.  Photos courtesy Australian Geographic.  The Rainbow Bee-eater is found throughout mainland Australia, as well as eastern Indonesia, New Guinea and, rarely, the Solomon Islands. In Australia it is widespread, except in desert areas, and breeds throughout most of its range, although southern birds move north to winter over.  Delightful little birds and so pretty.  Thanks for takin a peek.  ;D
  2. Thanks very much Sue and Lynda. Maybe it is just us creative types that want to preserve this beautiful environment. For what it is worth I truly think that it is greed and power that is destroying it. Lovely to know that your backyard is a preserve Lynda, I can only imagine the joy you must get from what nature has to offer. By the by I love what you have done with the overlays. Truly amazing how they can transform photos in so many ways. ;D
  3. Hello Campus Friends.  I played with the tutorials for Lab 11 Module 4  and then decided to display it in this way.  Again, the background paper was achieved with an overlay and opacity change ups.  The two ribbons are from Cassel's freebies and I manually colour corrected them to suit the page.  The rivet was also made following a tut by Cass.  The arrow was also a freebie from Cass.  The cluster is from Emeto Designs.  Thanks for takin a peek!
  4. Beautiful work Sue. I love how you have woven the vine under the rope ... very clever. I feel sad everytime I hear stories of how we have destroyed a critters habitat. I wonder if we can truly make a difference or if we have gone too far. Here in Bundaberg (and across Australia for that matter) we destroyed the habitat of the Australian White Ibis. Preferred habitats include swamps, lagoons, floodplains and grasslands. The ibis has also become a successful inhabitant of urban parks and gardens which has earned them the name of 'Bin Chickens'. The Bundaberg City Council swooped into action and created several beautiful habitats for these birds and they have made a remarkable comeback along with other wildlife similarly affected. These areas have become lovely places to have a picnic or just to wander around and see the wildlife population thriving again. :)
  5. Wow Lynda, a beautiful tribute to your son. I did not know that you had lost him ... so very sorry to hear that. I have not been in your position and I hope never to be ... but, having lost close relatives including my mum and dad it is a revelation that I continue to love them as if they had never passed. On some level I sense they are still around. Tony is a lovely looking lad and you must be very proud of your cowboy.

Great work on Lab 11 Module 4 and I love your cute little Easter Rabbit ... gotta love that pen tool! <3

  6. Thanks dear Sue, much appreciated my friend. The likes of David Attenborough and Steve Irwin are legends. I don't think I have missed one of David's shows. I am also a fan of Brian Cox ... his love of the universe shines through him. ;D
  7. Thanks dear Cristina. It was a sad day in Australia's history. He really was much loved and he was given a huge funeral. His daughter, Bindi, read out a eulogy she had written for him ... not a dry eye anywhere to be seen. Bindi was all of 8 yr old at the time ... such a brave little girl. Always appreciate your comments my friend. ;)
  8. Played around with this today.  The beautiful clusters are from Emeto Designs and are called Happy Little Moments.  The Quetzal is a very pretty bird and since I had the photo decided to do something fun and colourful to suit.  The title alpha is by Marisa Lerin from Pixel Scrappers.  The stars are a scatter I created by following Cassel's tutorial.  The font used for the journalling is Bickley Script LET.  Thanks for takin a peek!  ;D
  9. Thanks Minka, much appreciated. I love your giraffe page, comes together beautifully and you have made it fun with the guy and his glasses ... that is what initially drew me to it anyway. Love it my friend, very well done. ;D
  10. I consider the Irwins the royal family of Australia.  Steve was born in 1962, married Oregon gal Terri Raines, and they had two children, Bindi born in 1998, and Robert, aka Bob Bob, born in 2003.  Steve became known as 'The Crocodile Hunter' and his exploits are legendary.  His love of nature and conservation was what won the heart of Terri and Aussies alike.  His dad, Robert snr. actually started the zoo which is located in the Sunshine Coast of Queensland in 1979.  Steve tragically died at the age of 44 yrs whilst doing what he loved best, filming wildlife on the Batt Reef off the coast of North Queensland.  He was speared several times by a giant stingray the barb piercing his heart.  Terri, Bindi and Bob Bob hold no grudges against these giants and continue to operate Australia Zoo in honour of Steve.  YouTube has Steve's tv series ... many of ... and they are seriously educational.  Interestingly, Terri has not dated anyone since Steve's passing and she is one attractive lady so it says something about "true love" ... jus sayin!  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;D

  11. Corrie and Minka ... love those pages mah gals! Corrie I love those delightful little fig buttercups and you have made them number one, no doubt about that. The colour scheme is striking. Minka, the bunny almost seems to be saying 'don't touch this' ;) It is a really sweet photo which you have displayed well and a super clever idea with the Easter dates my friend. ;)
