  1. Carole (and Ann), I haven't been able to access my supplies since my old laptop died. I have been hesitating to ask you to renew the download links because I've purchased a lot from you through the years. That's one reason I didn't use the Scattered Photos script. The other  reason is the project really developed organically; I had no idea what I was planning until it happened which is my usual modus operandi. LOL.

Thanks for the kind words, Annie.

Mary, the color palette you used is great; it goes beautifully with the pic. If you hadn't mentioned that you got the papers from somewhere I would have thought you picked the colors from it.

Ann, I don't think it's fair that you have three grands and I don't have any. Are you willing to share? It's a wonderful l/o.

  2. So, am I the only one who went crazy on the first day of Carole's birthday sale? I have a ton of scripts, fonts, etc. to load.

I used the Painted Background script today for Shades of Mother Earth. It took me a few tries until I got what I wanted, but that's due mostly to the pic I used. I used one picture for the background (I had to crop and smudge it as I was getting too much beige with the script on the original pic). Masked a second picture over it, then placed them on a larger image of the background. The font is Anything Script that I got in a free font bundle from Creative Fabrica. I'm very happy with the results.

Note: The images were uploaded in the order that I worked on them with the final one last.

  3. Thanks, Ann. I have that script, but I haven't been able to access my backup files since my old laptop died. If I remember correctly, the script scatters the photos randomly, but it doesn't preserve the orientation. It's a great script, but not what I was looking for.

  4. Ann, I seem to remember there were free templates in the past, but I don't know if they still offer them. I've purchased a few when I didn't have time to "steal" an idea from them for my daily pic. When you click on File: New, you can choose either Blank Canvas or New from Template.

Sue, I have used adjustment layers, but I'm not that adept at them. I could use a good tutorial.

Ann, Sue, Mary, Annie, thank you all for your kind words.

  5. I wanted a simple layout to highlight these wonderful Erich Collins illustrations I found for Knit Dresses. I used a template from within PSP, White Grid Collage 02. I put a little bit of knit texture under the text. The font is Smoothies, a free demo from Fontspace.

I just did Sequin Styles for today's pic. I fell in love with a magazine layout for Las Vegas and picked my favorite image. There were four different versions because I couldn't decide which way to go. Four layers or three? Layers with shadows? Cutouts for frames? All smooth? All or some with texture? LOL I finally decided on this one; cutouts to look like frames and texture on the middle one to look like a mat. You'll probably have to click on it to see the texture. The font is Simian Display free from dafont.

  6. Ann, Sonya is gorgeous! Your family makes beautiful babies!

Lovely pages, Lynda. I giggled when I saw that you labeled Lucy along with the flowers.

Great textured papers, Annie. I agree...sometimes a texture on a subtle solid color is perfect. Beautifies the project while not overpowering the subject matter.

  7. Minka, I love, love, LOVE your tribute to Johnny Cash. Where did you find that curled paper? It's perfect for your layout. If hope you don't mind me pointing out something little (and I could be wrong as my eyes aren't always working great). I think the shadow on the curled paper is coming from the right to left and your elements appear to have shadows from left to right. It's just a tiny thing and I didn't even notice it until I looked at it several times.

Ann, curling the album covers was a really nice touch. And I also didn't realize how many people had covered this song. Ella and Megadeath??? I never thought I would mention them in the same sentence. LOL

  8. Oh, my goodness, Minka. I am speechless after your comments. Thank you so very much. I don't hit home runs often so I so appreciate what you said. It was pure dumb luck that I ran across those beautiful pictures. Half the time it takes me longer to find the proper subject matter for the daily theme I'm given. Believe it or not I found her on a makeup artist's site. I never know where I'm going to find the inspiration.

I recently purchased Carole's jigsaw scripts. They are such fun to work with. The picture you used is gorgeous! I see the background as sand; was that your intention? I love it.
