  3. I like what this plug-in does based on what you showed here. But at the moment I'll have to pass. I'm doing the scripting course which takes much of my time and when I should buy it I need time to play with it. Maybe later and in the mean time I like to see what you make of it.
  4. Jannette je was me net voor met het melden dat we nog weinig kleur hebben. Uiteraard heb ik op de tv de verwoestingen gezien: wij leven in het zuidwesten en hadden nergens last van. Bizar the verschillen in zo'n klein landje. Jannette just told that we over here are still predominantly green, which I also said and explained in my post. And I said to her that we only watched the results of that storm on the telly because we live in the southwest of the country. It's bizarre those differences in such a small country. The distance between us is probably not more than 200 km, maybe 2 hours by car depending on the traffic.
  5. We also have the four seasons but at the moment it is still mostly green, the first trees are starting to color. Due to the very hot temperatures and dry periods we have had this summer, a lot of trees and shrubs have shed their leaves which were brown, dried and bristle and did so already in July and August. I haven't been able to take new photos yet, so the following are from 2 years ago because last year I just had my hip replacement operation and couldn't go more then around the block where I live and on crutches. Both photos are taken around the neightbourhood along a street and a little square. And I tried to do so without getting parked cars, pavement and traffic in the shots.
  6. Donna this will make a lovely poster and a wonderful memory for your grandson. Quite something else than a usual picture frame for a couple of photos that you can buy, this is unique!
  7. W = Wicked
  8. T = Tomb
  9. Nice touch Bonnie, with Mr Marker on that bat!
  10. I like this one way better!
  11. I also don't like Halloween, because when I grew up we didn't even know such a thing existed and when my children were little it wasn't celebrated although we had seen it in movies and tv series. Nowadays it is mostly for children but no trick or treat and only some houses have little decorations. The font for this challenge is one I wouldn't have chosen; it was a freebie on CF and I didn't downloaded it at that day. I like what you did with it to make it more "you". I tried to do something like that but couldn't get something I liked, so I kept what I initially did. I want to use this layout and send it to my cousin who was with me, but I will change the font before I print it.
  12. P = Pumpkin
  13. Bonnie we were almost at the same moment posting ?
  14. I already did a Halloween layout for the theme of this month. We don't have a long tradition of Halloween festivities, nowadays it is more common, but it doesn't appeal that much to me. The grandkids are in the States and they of course participate. If I was there at this time of the year I would take a lot of photos, but over here no.... The Witch Mystery font however is a nice one and I used it for this layout featuring the "Windmills of Kinderdijk" (Netherlands), a Unesco World Heritage Site. Funny enough my cousin, who came along, and I, have never been there! We have both live not very far away from Kinderdijk, but as it is with things that are nearby we never got there because we thought: oh we can always do that. So last week we went to see those mills for ourselves and had a great day with fantastic weather and being offseason it was not congested as it can be in the summer. We didn't have to wait to take the little boats that ferry you along the 19 mills that are there. I have photos of the inside of one of the mills that we could visit, may I use those in another layout. Oh and all the mills dating from the 16th century and up are still in working order. They are designed to pump the water out of the canals to the river to keep the land dry and the other way around. Nowadays there are 2 pumping stations that do the same with electric machinery and the mills are a backup system. For this layout I used template Lab 12-11and 4 of the photos I took that day. When we arrived, it still was a bit hazy and I used one of the hazy photos as a background, copied it and the used the blendmode Burn which made it more like a silhouette, but not as black. Then an overlay called Windy Pastels (Inky deals) with the blendmode Difference. I was trying different overlays to get something interesting and I like this result, it gives a sort of painting effect. Some embellishments from my stock and the other font is Aura.
  15. M = Moon, preferably a full moon of course
  16. H = Hat like a witches hat
  17. D = Dripping blood
  18. I don't watch much tv nowadays. So many series are copies of older ones or imitations, but like Chris and Jannette we watch a lot BBC television. The series from Richard Attenborough, Fake or Fortune, Who do you think you are, The Antiques Roadshow (which has a Dutch counterpart that we also watch). My husband likes all kinds of sports and I don't and there is a lot of sport on the telly, so I go to the computer. Besides that I have seen a lot of the programs above like the ones Sue mentioned.
  19. Today I was visiting a garden center, a very big one and they had already opened their yearly Christmas show. There are always many displays of different winter scenes with little villages, snow scenes etc. Among them were a couple of Halloween scenes that I took photos of. So the background of my layout is my photo with a cobweb overlay, some ghost tubes, the freebie for this theme, and 2 skulls. I didn't change the colors of my photo because I think it came out nicely; the cobweb was white and that was a bit too white so I made it a bit darker with the saturation and lightness.
  20. N = Night time
  21. At first I didn't want to contribute to this discussion and viewpoints, but I like to mention something else. A lot of the European countries were under German occupation in WWII and have suffered terribly. If the allied forces had not come to our aid we all would be speaking German today and I like to remind you of the enormous loss of the Jewish people. Of course the result of all this is not what everybody hoped for and of course I know the price the Germans and Russians have paid for it too. But I think the solution today is not that simple. My comment can be deleted too if it's deemed controversial.
  22. H = Haunted
  23. Sue your little girls will be very happy with their calendars! Your cards are so sweet and show that clipart can work beautifully with photo backgrounds. For me it's a pity that we have so little snow the last decades. So no snowy photos for me to use unless I can get some from the parents in law of my daughter. Love what you did.
  24. Welcome Doska! If you follow Carole's suggestion to join the Bootcamp in October, you can se for yourself if PSP is what you are looking for. I, like a lot of the others, started out here in the Campus and never looked back so to speak. Hope to see you around!
  25. Bonnie I love your idea to feature the beauties of the National Parks of Utah, the photos are stunning and pay tribute to the region! I would love to see it for myself, maybe when I visit my family in the States again in the future.
