Corrie, your busy layout is exceptional! I really love it, and I think, when time passes, you will be glad you spent that time. Sort of like forgetting about how much childbirth hurts a few months after the fact. ☺️

Holy cow! So much to talk about here! Nice job everyone. Michele, the shadow-frame really was a happy accident! Bonnie, congratulations, you really are a role model for us! I like the color one better, I think. And Donna, the gllitter and card are really nice. I especially like the fill you made on the text, isn’t that silly? With all the other stuff you did? But I am really into fills now, so that’s what stuck with me. Is Adobe Express for iPad or desktop? I think I supposedly have it on my iPad, but I do not recall ever using it or seeing it. Not the icon, not the tools…Nada. Well, you don’t have to answer, I can look it up. Adobe stock (stock market price) is ever-higher, which means their monthly models (software rental with monthly fees) are working. Which means I agree, I don’t need it for $10.00 a month.

Congratulations, Jannette, plus, you have to get those eyes better before the Vectors class next Monday! Stay well! Thank you Michele. I had no idea they would be that large!, so I’m surely glad you answered. I’m going to make some sort of a birthday quick pages this weekend. I’m goi g to have one ready no matter WHOSE birthday it is! (Maybe I can do some really funny ones for old highschool boyfriends!)

Very nice, Michele and Donna! I want to make some Happy Birthday Cards that fit the facebook posting template size (if that's a thing). In fact, I would rather do that instead of one of the cards in the card workshop if I knew the size (or the ratios?) I have a bunch of friends on facebook, but they come from separate and different compartments of my admittedly long life, and I could get by with one single template for 10-15 different people with no one the wiser, I think. On my desktop computer facebook, the best size is 600 wide x between 420 and 450 high. But I don't know if it's the same on an ipad and phone? Donna, yours looks square, and even a tall square, but Michele, yours is a horiz rectangle, flatter than my 600 x 415. Are yours phone size or maybe iPad (tablet) size, by any chance? Coming up in August is a dear old friend of mine who says "Don't send me belated birthday wishes. If you can't send it on the day, then don't send it at alll!" Yikes! I wouldn't mind knocking it out of the park for her. She loves Chihuahuas - those little dogs that need clothes in Indiana, LOL!

Susan, I bow down to you on this one! These are just gorgeous! (And I wouldn't get far in your game because I don't know the answers to about 3/4 of the questions! LOL! But I'd have a stylish token while not getting many answers correct! I'd just slink around with my tail between my legs. :(() 6-12 is the only Lab I didn't download, or even watch, because I knew I could never finish it, but I recently watched the game board video since you said you were working on it. NO WAY I could do it! My game board would look like a colon! The spinner is magnificent - the arrow and its material and shading are perfection! Congratulations!

In the “Vectors in Action” Master Class, at the 8:02 point, Cassel refers to an online program which will convert Jpgs to vector. She shows all the pieces and parts to an image in presets shapes like circles and squares. It sounds like she’s saying the program is called “con virtue”, but there is no such thing in my Google search. What is the name of the program, or has anybody tried to do this online for free with another program? It sounds really useful! also, at 18:58, there are two nodes at the end of the curve on the left. Cassel does something unseen to get rid of one. All she says is, “there”, and it’s gone. I’m not at my computer, but I don’t recall a “delete node” on the right click of the mouse, so how’d she get rid of it? This always happened to me when I make text paths - I always end up with two nodes at the end which makes for a wonky curve.

I’m glad you posted, Anja! I was expecting it to start this Monday, the 10th. I would have been sorely disappointed when no emails came to my inbox if I hadn’t seen your post about it starting the 17th! Now I’m all bummed out, tho. ? HOWEVER, it's possible that Jannette is talking about tomorrow’s Diamond Q &A, and Amsterdam is 6 hours ahead of NYC, so that’s 11:00 pm, at night. Consider me an honorary Dutchie! ?

Well, that *is*a gradient, Ann. (this is the post way back on the flower I posted). I think I need to learn more about using gradients, and choosing an appropriate gradient. Or maybe I don’t have the right kinds of gradients? No, I have a boatload, so that can’t be it. It must be I’m choosing the wrong kind. Or doing it wrong. Sounds too vague for a Q&A question.

Ah, thanks! I was using it on a vector line, but it wasn’t on the line, if that makes any sense. (I was using it the wrong way.)
-
I click the straighten took and a straight line comes up....am I just supposed to MANUALLY match my crooked line to that? This cannot be right! LOL! ?

I’m doing the Vector master classes called Further Vectors and Vectors in Action. Are there any other labs, workshops or master classes I need to watch to brush up for Monday? I think I have seen Vectors in Action 3 or 4 times, but this might be my first time watching Further Vectors!! And it had the answer[s) to my question about handles at 38:27, so I’m a little embarrassed. (But it also went too fast at 2:37 where Cassel makes a flower by twisting the symmetric shape.) I’m not sure how that happened, so I’m asking in case my education is lacking anywhere else for the big class on Monday. ?

Anne, LOL! Here is what I've been working on. Florals of my own. I have pages of these, but have only scanned one, and of the flowers on that one, I have only colored and fixed up one. (Thought I'd give Susan a run for her money in the Turtle race.) Now that I have done one, I'm not sure this is the looking I'm going for so I'm going to try to fill with some paper-grain instead.

I can’t drive across town without having to detour for road construction, so I would say in the Northern US, where the roads get ruined in winter and have to be repaired and repaved, all summer is bad for traveling by car! So many exits and entrances to the bypass around the city are closed, and so many of the sections of highway are one-lane only that it's hard to get from here to there. My daughter tells me there is an app for that. Waze. It will reroute you according to construction and traffic.

Yay! Thank you both! I need vases, I always need vases. I should scrap my vases drawers, cabinets, shelves, and now on the floor I have so many. Now there is a way to use the Hanging photos script!
-
Hey! In the lFurther Vectors” Masterclass, Cassel references “free vase preset shapes in the Campus” …..does anybody know where those are? I don’t have a date for the class, so I’m not sure how far back to look, and I don’t know if it’s in the forums or elsewhere. I need more preset shapes!

Kasany, Yes, trip is correct, was that your question? OMG! Doesn’t your butt hurt? I went 30 miles and the last quarter I stood up the entire time. It didn’t hurt the next day, tho, so something very weird. I hope your bike shorts are padded!! ?
-
Sue, great job on the sta,ps….since you aren’t using the script, you *could* vary the text. Merry Christmas, for example . (Of course, I bet you say Happy Christmas, but you get the idea.). And I have a question you can answer…. I’m currently thinking about how to get some horse manure for my garden. I know where the horses live, but the properties are walled and gated off. Would it be too weird for me to put a note in their mailboxes and offer to clean out stalls if I got to keep the manure? Susan, those Labs are terrific! The rainbow stripe is eye popping, but I love that style so much! So when my corners don’t line up, I take the opposite corner where they *do* line up and copy, paste and mirror it, then zoom way in, microscopically, and place the corner where it goes, leaving absolutely no seam. (It is a trial and error, but can be done if you need it perfect). It sometimes doesn't work in perfect quarters, but in your paper’s case, I believe it will work. That Kleenex is hilarious! I’m doing some YouTube videos on drawing flowers to make my own patterns. Doodling, not really drawing. One of the videos is 48 minutes long!!! The artist is Asian, and the music is a bedtime lullaby. I don’t mind telling you I can last ALMOST 5 minutes before my eyes start closing! (So it will take me nine or 10 sessions, unless I put it at 2 x speed, but then it goes too fast for me to keep up.) This lead me to a book called “How to Draw Modern Florals”, where my complete lack of drawing talent has become obvious, but the book is awesome. My Newsletter was published in June - if you want to see https://dafflibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Ledger-34-2-2023-June-IDS.pdf

Yay! I’m first to post! This is one class I really want to start and really want to finish, too. I’m having trouble using those handles to make a smooth curve. It seems I grab one and make the crimp I’m trying to fix even worse! I think I’m probably move it too far in, or out too far, or to the side too far, and only need to nudge it a bit, but maybe the class will show me exactly what to do. the other thing is that there are a LOT of little buttons with indecipherable icons on them on the vector palette (the vector dashboard), and I would dearly like to know what those icons supposedly represent because they totally miss the mark. The edit icon looks like a fish, or a half eaten fish, maybe? But why!?

Fireworks going off now - like crazy. Usually my dog is a basket case, but he’s old now and can’t hear. Apparently he can’t hear A THING because they sound like they’re right outside the patio doors! Meanwhile, I’m looking for the new Vector workshop “say hi” thread, but the link from the newsletter does not work and I don’t see a thread with the topic heading. But I might not be looking in the right place.

B = Birthday. Today is my birthday and we’re grilling out. I would add a pic, but I’m all comfy. I got nail polish that dries in one minute from my daughter, and I can’t wait to see if it works!

Oh, gosh, Carole, I didn’t even know that much! I thought a Cricut (and Silhouette) was like another printer and you “printed” to it, but instead of ink, it has blades.
