  1. I’m doing the Vector master classes called Further Vectors and Vectors in Action. Are there any other labs, workshops or master classes I need to watch to brush up for Monday? I think I have seen Vectors in Action 3 or 4 times, but this might be my first time watching Further Vectors!! And it had the answer[s) to my question about handles at 38:27, so I’m a little embarrassed. (But it also went too fast at 2:37 where Cassel makes a flower by twisting the symmetric shape.) I’m not sure how that happened, so I’m asking in case my education is lacking anywhere else for the big class on Monday. ?
  2. Anne, LOL! Here is what I've been working on. Florals of my own. I have pages of these, but have only scanned one, and of the flowers on that one, I have only colored and fixed up one. (Thought I'd give Susan a run for her money in the Turtle race.) Now that I have done one, I'm not sure this is the looking I'm going for so I'm going to try to fill with some paper-grain instead.
  3. I can’t drive across town without having to detour for road construction, so I would say in the Northern US, where the roads get ruined in winter and have to be repaired and repaved, all summer is bad for traveling by car! So many exits and entrances to the bypass around the city are closed, and so many of the sections of highway are one-lane only that it's hard to get from here to there. My daughter tells me there is an app for that. Waze. It will reroute you according to construction and traffic.
  4. Yay! Thank you both! I need vases, I always need vases. I should scrap my vases drawers, cabinets, shelves, and now on the floor I have so many. Now there is a way to use the Hanging photos script!
  5. Hey! In the lFurther Vectors” Masterclass, Cassel references “free vase preset shapes in the Campus” …..does anybody know where those are? I don’t have a date for the class, so I’m not sure how far back to look, and I don’t know if it’s in the forums or elsewhere. I need more preset shapes!
  6. Kasany, Yes, trip is correct, was that your question? OMG! Doesn’t your butt hurt? I went 30 miles and the last quarter I stood up the entire time. It didn’t hurt the next day, tho, so something very weird. I hope your bike shorts are padded!! ?
  7. Sue, great job on the sta,ps….since you aren’t using the script, you *could* vary the text. Merry Christmas, for example . (Of course, I bet you say Happy Christmas, but you get the idea.). And I have a question you can answer…. I’m currently thinking about how to get some horse manure for my garden. I know where the horses live, but the properties are walled and gated off. Would it be too weird for me to put a note in their mailboxes and offer to clean out stalls if I got to keep the manure? Susan, those Labs are terrific! The rainbow stripe is eye popping, but I love that style so much! So when my corners don’t line up, I take the opposite corner where they *do* line up and copy, paste and mirror it, then zoom way in, microscopically, and place the corner where it goes, leaving absolutely no seam. (It is a trial and error, but can be done if you need it perfect). It sometimes doesn't work in perfect quarters, but in your paper’s case, I believe it will work. That Kleenex is hilarious! I’m doing some YouTube videos on drawing flowers to make my own patterns. Doodling, not really drawing. One of the videos is 48 minutes long!!! The artist is Asian, and the music is a bedtime lullaby. I don’t mind telling you I can last ALMOST 5 minutes before my eyes start closing! (So it will take me nine or 10 sessions, unless I put it at 2 x speed, but then it goes too fast for me to keep up.) This lead me to a book called “How to Draw Modern Florals”, where my complete lack of drawing talent has become obvious, but the book is awesome. My Newsletter was published in June - if you want to see https://dafflibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Ledger-34-2-2023-June-IDS.pdf
  8. Yay! I’m first to post! This is one class I really want to start and really want to finish, too. I’m having trouble using those handles to make a smooth curve. It seems I grab one and make the crimp I’m trying to fix even worse! I think I’m probably move it too far in, or out too far, or to the side too far, and only need to nudge it a bit, but maybe the class will show me exactly what to do. the other thing is that there are a LOT of little buttons with indecipherable icons on them on the vector palette (the vector dashboard), and I would dearly like to know what those icons supposedly represent because they totally miss the mark. The edit icon looks like a fish, or a half eaten fish, maybe? But why!?
  9. Fireworks going off now - like crazy. Usually my dog is a basket case, but he’s old now and can’t hear. Apparently he can’t hear A THING because they sound like they’re right outside the patio doors! Meanwhile, I’m looking for the new Vector workshop “say hi” thread, but the link from the newsletter does not work and I don’t see a thread with the topic heading. But I might not be looking in the right place.
  10. B = Birthday. Today is my birthday and we’re grilling out. I would add a pic, but I’m all comfy. I got nail polish that dries in one minute from my daughter, and I can’t wait to see if it works!

Oh, gosh, Carole, I didn’t even know that much! I thought a Cricut (and Silhouette) was like another printer and you “printed” to it, but instead of ink, it has blades.

Here is a new hobby that is easy, fast and has no extra things to buy. It’s called map crunching, https://www.mapcrunch.com today’s image is from Bolivia, but I changed mine to a street scene outside of Oslo Norway. You can choose urban or rural, and the country, and a bunch of other stuff. Try it. Brought to you by Google Earth.
  13. We have them here, too, but we also have BIG beautiful libraries, so I don’t stop at somebody’s little one. I was at my big beautiful library just yesterday when, after spending 2 hours finding books I wanted, they announced the library had to be cleared immediately. I had to leave my books in my bag near my tables and chair. I just left them there, after spending all that time hunting them down and culling the ones I didn’t want. I was quite put out! Meanwhile, my next kit is for the library, specifically the 150th anniversary of the Dewey Decimal System. LOL! I don’t think there will be a big stampede for my kits, first tomatoes, now Dewey, but the classification system is very important to me, and if more people understood it, I think it would be important to them, too.

I don’t understand how they work, including set up with the computer, so I’ve resisted getting oneso far, but these stained glass cards are compelling, Monique, beautifully executed.
  15. Rest. That 5 minutes you’re supposed to give meat after you remove it from the grill, which nobody really does around here.
  16. Jannette, nice job on that! At first I thought it really was a photo your took of some (very good) wall graffiti you had seen, so WTG! Cristina! What an awesome layout! Thanks for all the directions, specifically that background paper! But it also gives me ideas for some of those scripts I also own. Well, it’s just awesome. Ann, I’m sorry for your loss, and at such a young age, always hard to take! Your memorial layout is stellar. You put it together so beautifully. And such a perfect use for that Hanging photo script!I’m am just so impressed by all of it, the montage photo in the bottom right, the Corel Script, the background image, the placement of the photos, the title work and anything else I forgot to mention but which is part of the whole. I think I’m going to have to buy the script and save this LO in the folder to refer back to - once I have 12 photos of anything, LOL!
  17. Wow, Dorothy, you have been really busy! WTG! Uncle Sam Soiree? Is that really an historical name for a 4th of July party? LOL! Fan-cee!
  18. Jannette, that black and white is stunning! I went looking for the script, is your "dot" method this script by any chance? It is the line painting script, not dot, but it looks like it could be similar? https://creationcassel.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_8&products_id=815 I looked closely at it while it was on sale, but I just couldn't see an application for it - and now I think I do! :)) I'm not as creative as most of the people posting on here, I'm afraid. :(
  19. Susan, I love this! I went to go get the font at CF and it isn't hollow. For some reason i expected it to be hollow based on this. So my idea is to have Cassel write a script to make a plain old font like Amnestia become something like this. All she really has to do is get close, and the person can tweak it. Is this correct, do you think? It looks a little like and outline + enamel, gradient, and a tiny shadow. easy peasy! :))
  20. Libera, Can I just use this cute Facebook header for my facebook page? It is just adorable, and there are no flip flops in my life!
  21. Holy cow, Susan, that doily is gorgeous! And even more gorgeous is the detail on that Chevron tile! The pattern, the colors, everything. I just love it! I use those kinds of patterns to make “fill” I call it. Where I just need to use it as a pattern fill for the border of a card, or maybe something I would use instead of a ribbon….or maybe a ribbon. Or a full for a shape or letter or text. Chevrons are hard to use, but I would use the mitered corner frame script to make it all go the same way when doing a border. Well, it’s gorgeous.
  22. Susan if you also post the original photo, I will show you what Cass Whitener script will do and post it. One click, baby! (I think. I won't know for sure until I do it, but it works for my stuff which is more along the lines of concrete parking garage walls and hotel walls LOL, that sounds potentially gross -- I think it's a plaster treatment they use. quite random.)
  23. Yeah, what was that triangle one? Part of PSP? I hope. Because I didn’t download that fractal program. plus the texture on the sage green heart….how can I make that? the germ or smoggy snowflake has two sides cut off, so 4 of the 6 points are sheared, Does the program do that? Or did you crop it?
  24. Susan, this is wonderful. You have made me excited to do this lab!
