  1. I know I might sound like a broken record, but online backup can be a life-saver. I can't imagine how i would do if I lost everything about the Campus, the store, and all my supplies and photos. That peace of mind is definitely worth that $100/year. I wrote about it in here.
  2. I didn't think there were Canada geese in Europe!

    Testing thread

So far, so good. But will it be working on all threads? That has been my nightmare; sometimes it works, sometimes, it doesn't! Crossing fingers

    Testing thread

With various issues with the forum, let's have a testing thread. If you post something or encounter something, this is the place, I guess.
  6. Let's continue this new challenge. We might often be the ones taking pictures but we are not the feature of our layouts, so let's change that since we ARE important and we have lots to say. Every month or so, the layout will be about YOU, and a prompt will be given. If you have taken the Story Week Challenge, you will find some similarities but it won't be the same. For the June layout, tell us something about books. Do you have books that you like/dislike? or books that have been a big part of your life when you were young. Remember that if you want to create pages for previous prompts, those threads will stay open for you. There is no right or wrong order to share about you.
  7. Things are moving along pretty well. The book is "done", although I am still waiting on proofreaders to catch all my typos and odd grammar syntax (remember that English is not my first language!). Then, I have to finalize a cover for it. If everything goes according to plans, it should be released this summer. Stay tuned!
  8. Do you have photos of blooming shrubs, trees, or gardens? Share your pics! Also, when is that blooming happening in your area? Let's chat.
  9. Our newest challenge will soon start. Are you in? Are you intimidated by vectors? Are you at a loss when you need to use them? The challenge will start on June 17th. This challenge will be FREE for everyone, so spread the word. Here is the link again: https://scrapbookcampus.com/workshops/vector Let us know when you are registered, and share your biggest challenge or fear about using Vectors. The workshop will be the same as offered last year, however, I plan on offering different extras for our DIAMOND members.
  10. It happens to be occasionally too. I find tghat if I log in while in the forum, it is not always working. I rather go to the main page and log in. Sorry it happens to you too.
  11. That is really good. For added realism, you can slightly rotate the individual screws. Once added to a project it will look quite good!
  12. I the process of writing my book, currently, I needed to find the source of all the kits and the fonts I used in layouts made years ago. When I used the Open as Layer-Rename script, it would include the name of the file I used (whether it was a paper, a ribbon, a flower, etc.). This has saved me a lot of headaches in figuring out what kit was used. I also always keep a vector version of all the text, so when I reopen the layered file, if I have used a specific font that is not installed on my computer, I would get a popup telling me what is missing. And if the font is installed, I just have to double-click on the vector layer as if I wanted to edit the text, and it was immediately selected in the Text toolbar.
  13. Do you want to challenge yourself to take photos every week for a year? Maybe you want to practice your photography skills, or just try to capture "ordinary" daily occurrences. Let's just encourage each other. This is a no-pressure thread, and you can share the photos you took or the theme you are going for (if you are going with a theme). And if you don't want to share the photos yet, and only showcase them once they are in a montage or a scrapbook page, you can just say that you did it. And it is ok to start your 52 weeks at any time. It does not have to start in January!
  14. It is a new month and new projects. Show off what you are working on in June be it a scrapbook page, a collage, a tutorial, or anything else you want. We are curious and want to see, learn, and get inspired. These threads are quickly becoming a fantastic source of inspiration, support, and friendship. Keep them coming! Remember to size down your image to about 600x600 pixels and save it in .jpg format before posting it (if you are creating a double page, you can resize it to 1000 pixels in width if you don't want to post the pages separately). Here are a few guidelines for everyone: when you post a project, give as much information on your sources or techniques used. It will help others who are curious and would like to do the same. if someone uses something that you like on their page, ask where they got it. Sometimes, you can go get it too and it will be better quality than trying to extract it (as it would have been resized to post in the forum anyway). if it is something that they did from scratch, ask how they did it. It would be so helpful to everyone! if you like a photo and would like to “play with it”, ALWAYS ask permission. Sometimes, there are some limitations and the person is not allowed to let others use it. Don’t get them in trouble. Usually, people are happy to say yes (if they can) when you ask politely. And if you get permission, you might get a better-quality image than the resized image anyway.
  15. In June, our monthly theme is FRUITS. With summer arriving (for the northern hemisphere), it could be time for refreshing serving of fruits, whether local or exotic. Let's find various fruits, fruit parts, fruit harvesting processes and equipment starting with each letter of the alphabet. Let's go!
  16. The theme for June is FRUITS. Do you have some fruit-related layouts to share? Maybe some fresh fruit you just harvested with the kids? Some decorated fruits for a party? Or anything related to fruits? Let's go! Post your project in the gallery.

    Hello everyone

Hey Helen! Nice to see you around. If you pic up PSP again, it is something you can do without too much walking! Check the forum and the blog. Just have fun and take it easy.
  18. Have you ever encountered serious vandalism in your neighbourhood? Have you ever been afraid for your property? Let's chat.
  19. @Jeni Simpson Papyrus is definitely a traditional font to be used. @kasany Yes, a less ornate font is easier to read. @Michele Just a little trick if you want to add a link: link the text instead of adding the link separately, especially if it is a FB link as they are so long. @Julie Magerka Lovely cards for lovely people! @fiona cook Those dimensions SHOULD work. You just have to make sure that the printer you are using (if you are using at home) uses 300ppi. You might want to test it. @Doska St. Let me send you an email to check a few things to help with the freeze, ok? @MoniqueN. This shadow effect is great and it does give the impression of a thicker paper. @Donna Sillia When you want to create just an arc, the easiest way is to make three points: beginning, middle, and end, and change the nodes to Symmetric. Don't even try to make it freehand. It is a nightmare! 😉 @Louyse Toupin As I was scrolling to your card and saw the croc, I was wondering what kind of greeting card you were making, until I read it! @Anja Pelzer Those black gnomes stand out on the red/pink card. Great choice. @Randy Maybe that font is standard? I know I have it too and use it regularly. @Anne Lamp Who knows when you might use one of those in the future? If you don't use those, you might create new ones! Now, it is the last "daily post for me. If you encounter any issue, don't hesitate to post and I will respond (I get a notification for every single post in the forum!) Also, remember to fill out the survey about this workshop! I find it interesting that some registrants have filled out the survey but never posted any of their projects. But that is ok. Maybe some are uncomfortable posting their projects. Keep them coming if you are not finished.
  20. @Bonnie Borntrager @Jeni Simpson I LOVE that font you chose! @Sharla Great theme for that card and the image is very appropriate for an achievement! @Petra Nuijten You will still have a week to catch up. Looking forward to your projects. @Sue Thomas It is a great idea not to add a shadow. If you did, it would have to be quite faint anyways. @Doska St. Is that happening only with 2023 but not with other versions? @Michele Were the butterflies already in those colors or did you need to colorize them? @kasany I think that the very fancy and delicate font you used would work better (easier to read) with no shadow at all. @Bonnie Ballentine For the card "I am rich", I wonder if the text reads well in full size? If not, maybe it can be emphasized with a glow around it? @Anne Lamp I would not necessarily have noticed the template you used if it was not the fact that I was using that same template in the book I am writing, and I was on that chapter! @MoniqueN. I don't know if you did it on purpose or how you did it, but the sort of "see-through" on the left of the watercolor scene is very interesting. @fiona cook I am glad that the classic Materials Properties has helped you. @Gerry Landreth I am glad you enjoyed the workshop. @Donna Sillia I think that the text on the banners could be done with the Text on path, so you could have it follow the banners more. @Harmony Birch It is fine to tweak the templates. That is the beauty of templates! I think that on the last card, you flipped the ribbon. It shows as the lighting on the bevel is now in the wrong direction. @Sheila Hogg Thank you for your kind words. I am also thrilled by all the cards that were created. @Peggy Dyar For the corner punches, have you thought of using the guides? @Corrie Kinkel I always love to see your little logo on each card. It looks so professional! @Louyse Toupin On your card, if you have a black outline on text, you don't need as much of a shadow. In fact, you can even skip the shadow since that outline creates a nice definition of the edges. @carol Woudema Again, I think you resized the photo incorrectly. Those poor ladies will have a headache! Did you check out this article on resizing photos? @Anita Wyatt I am glad you are safe. Things can always be replaced. I am sure you will have time to catch up. Today was the last tutorial of the Workshop. Tomorrow will be my last day of adding comments to each poster, but the thread will stay open so even if you are still taking a few days to finish, you will still be able to post.
  21. It does not matter what size you want in the end, but if you just use the Resize command and go from a rectangular format to a square format, you would lose the proportions of the elements. Here is an article on resizing templates. Although it is for scrapbook pages, it is the same for card templates.
  22. @Jeni Simpson That is such a lovely card. I think it is the first one I have seen in this workshop on that theme. It is a great idea to create postcards instead of greeting cards. You can use the same templates! @kasany That is so interesting to have an out-of-bound image instead of a clipart! @Harmony Birch That card makes me smile. I think I will contact CF to point them to this thread as so many of their graphics are showcased in these beautiful cards. For your snowman card, there is a lot of blue tint. Have you considered using a color adjustment like Grey World? It is not available by default in recent PSP versions but you can retrieve it easily. Check this article (about halfway down). @Michele Those balloons are so simple yet make a great composition. @Doska St. What PSP version is giving you those issues? @Randy That is a great way to use other tools and effects. @Corrie Kinkel I love how you used the "bee" instead of "be". It is perfectly suited to the theme. @Sue Thomas With all those nature events, you will be quite busy! 😉 @Gerry Landreth Great text on path technique! @Minka Glasier Such a fun and colorful card! @Ann Seeber I bet you can stay busy all year with all those birthdays! @carol Woudema Those milestones really deserve to be celebrated! @Anne Lamp Did you use the card template or a different one? Strangely, it matches exactly one template from the Template workshop. @Sharla That bunny certainly looks happy. A great card to keep for next year. @Louyse Toupin That is a fun and colorful composition! Next, we want a picture of YOU on your scooter! 🙂 @Anja Pelzer Good to see you catch up. On your second card, may I suggest you add a little 3D effect on the ribbon? It is the only element without bevel or shadow. @Sheila Hogg If you had not mentioned that you used a font for that edge, I would not have guessed it. Great job! @Bonnie Borntrager You have to be careful in resizing the images to fit a template. If you change the proportions, it will squish the image. Check this article about resizing. Tomorrow is the last template and the last tutorial of the workshop. Don't worry, the tutorials will stay available until next weekend so if you had some time issues, you will have several days to catch up.
  23. This is actually a great idea and you are right, it was not included in the book so far. I guess I might need to add at least one chapter on the topic!
  24. I am providing you with a card with 24 elements that can be included in a layout. You can make a bingo by using any element in a straight line that would make a bingo, whether it is a horizontal line, a vertical line, or a diagonal line. That means that you have to include 5 (or only 4 if you use the FREE in the center) elements in your layout. Of course, you can have more than one bingo if you want to create more than one layout. Once you post your layout, tell us what 4-5 elements from the Bingo card you are using (it is just easier for everyone to check on you! ? ) So, here is your card, for May 2024. If you are a DIAMOND member and want to create those elements, you are more than welcome. All the elements listed have a tutorial inside the membership. If you don't have access to those tutorials, or if you don't want to do anything from scratch, you can also use ready-made elements. There is no rule for or against that. The only rule: have fun and be creative!
  25. @Wendy Sanders You are doing it right. Only if you want to quote someone, you can highlight the phrase or paragraph to quote. Otherwise, you can just post at the bottom of the page. @kasany That is a cute font. When you use a decorated font, especially with bevels, go easy on the shadows so it does not detract for the details. @Michele That is a really cute font! @Jeni SimpsonThat is a great way to showcase those birds. @Peggy Dyar It is interesting to see the frame halfway over/under elements. @fiona cook Did you try both the black and white shadows or just opt for white from the start? @Donna Sillia How did you get the 3D effect on the text for the valentine card? @Gerry Landreth That is a smart thing to do: be prepared for both options! @carol Woudema Did you size your project to less than 600 pixels and then size it up? It is strange how it is pixelated. @Harmony Birch It is never too early to prepare for holiday cards! @Sue Thomas With all those invitations, we will have a party at your place! @Anne Lamp I think you might want to fix a typo on "May YOUR future be bright" before sending it out! @Corrie Kinkel That is a great way to use the stacked wooden alpha. @Julie Magerka You are totally free to change the theme for any of the cards! @Randy It is fun to see those abstract designs find a way to embellish a regular card. @Sheila Hogg It is fun to see the use of extra glyphs! @Louyse Toupin Be careful resizing images. The flowers are obviously stretched. It is ok to keep them proportional, even if they don't span the whole width. Still two days to go. This thread is a fantastic source of ideas!
