Cassel Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 Festivals are definitely events where we will take many pictures, so there is surely something to show off, whether it is a layout that you have done in the past, or a new one. Dig in your archives. And if you don't have photos of your own, search for stock photos that might illustrate a festival you want to share about. It is time to showcase those photos and stories. Let's go!
Lynda DiGregor Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 Everyone knows about Mardi Gras. Since I have a good friend who lives in New Orleans and just happens to be a photographer and actually studied this celebration, I am using her photos in this layout and ones to come. Her name is Linda Reno. She has been gracious enough to let me use her photos.
Sue Thomas Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I wanted to participate in the Festival challenge in the campus. I didn't quite know what to do, as I wanted to use one of my nature photos, then I thought of creating an advert for a bird watchers magazine, promoting an up coming event. Ads in magazines don't usually have drop shadows, but I had to add one to the logo. I created a very simple square QR code, which these days are a standard feature magazines. Great Grey Owl. Awesome pages Lynda. Bright, vibrant, colourful, with fun loving people pages. I can feel the atmosphere through your layouts.
Shirley Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 We are looking back to 1982 for this festive occasion. Another scrap page for my daughters memory book. It is inspiring getting back into psp, but the work is a bit slower since my stroke, it took me about 3 days to do this and get the effect I wanted, but getting the desired effect is good. There is still a bit of brain freeze going on, but doing this must be good for me.
Ann Seeber Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 FESTIVAL: Warwick was my hometown for over 40 years, and I attended the first Applefest in 1989. It was so successful that it seemed the whole world converged on my town! In subsequent years, we left town for the day. ;-D
Ann Seeber Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 FESTIVAL - The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival is held in the Village of Saugerties, Ulster County, NY, a bit north and east of the Warwick Applefest. They usually fall on the same October weekend. The Garlic Fest is a two-day affair whereas the Applefest is just on the first Sunday in October. I've never attended the Garlic Fest personally. I had more fun making this layout using bits and pieces of art and info from their official website. The blue balloons are psptubes.
Lynda DiGregor Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Ann, Garlic Festival, who knew!!!! Beautiful layout
Corrie Kinkel Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 It took me some time to realise that a festival is not only music/film but thanks to Sue and Ann I turned to my flowers again because we have an internationally known annual Tulip Festival with a flower parade. This year is the 75th time and will be held 23 April 2022 It isn't only about tulips but about all the spring bulbs like daffodils, hyacinths and muscari. I made a background from 3 different papers with different blendmodes. The round photos are mine, the bigger one is from the internet because it is a very long time ago that we visited the flower parade and I have no photos of it. The tulipbouquet I did last year for another challenge, the labels are a font called label maker and have a flair button each. The Tulip font is Austie Bost you wear flowers.
Corrie Kinkel Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Ann very nice apple and garlic pages. Festivals about fruit like apples and strawberries we have too and I know in Switzerland there is an onion festival/market but garlic is new to me.
Ann Seeber Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Thank you, Lynda and Corrie for your kind words. Stand by, I'll have a Black Dirt Onion Festival ready soon ... here's a preview. ;-)
Ann Seeber Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 FESTIVAL: Annual Onion Festival in Pine Island, located in the Black Dirt farming region of Orange County, NY. Polish dancers, polka music and lots of onion gear. Our local polka celeb, Jimmy Sturr, hosts every year. I used the #7 bonus mask template again with two photos, Jimmy's poster and a couple of candids from previous fests.
Lynda DiGregor Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 This is a repeat from the March Sketch Challenge I put this together for festivals and the scrap challenge. Two birds, one stone! I used Cassel’s bead maker script, her chain tube to hold the beads together, her glitter background and her Bits and pieces script for the piece behind the photos. again the middle photo is from my friend Linda Reno and the other two are mine. It’s somewhat busy but that is Mardi Gras
Lynda DiGregor Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 More Mardi Gras with Linda Reno's photos, filter Forge frame with some tweaks.
Lynda DiGregor Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Ok, here are the rest of the Mardi Gras layouts.
Ann Seeber Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Lynda, there's space for your message and image but nothing shows in the Forum for me.?
Lynda DiGregor Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Thanks Ann, I had to make some corrections so you should see them now. I'm done now.
Susan Ewart Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Lynda, those Mardi Gras layouts are outstanding!
Ann Seeber Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Wow, Lynda, those Mardi Gras layouts are outstanding! I do like all the color and excitement you have captured. I was wondering if you would allow me to show them to my daughter, Deb, who lived in NOLA for years and whose husband was born and raised there. Lucky was a river pilot on the Mississippi and was almost as colorful as your photos! ;-)
