September RANDOM Challenge - 5+5+5

Here is a challenge to do something that might not be repeated in other months. Just an idea that popped like that (and you can also send me suggestions for occasional random challenges too).

This week, I challenge you to use 5 similar elements, 3 times in your project. You can use 5 buttons, 5 flowers and 5 paperclips, or you can choose 5 photos, 5 strings and 5 tags. You get the picture! The 5 elements don't need to be identical, but they have to be easy enough to spot. Since some of us are less observant, you also need to clarify, in the post, what they are. It will make it easier for us to find them.

So, what will you create?

I have been playing with this off and on all day.  It was a lot of fun and I had to look up how to do some of the things (like free rotate) that I know have been demonstrated here.  A lot of times I can remember something is doable but have to go back to remember just how to do them.  The Background photo is mine from a cousin's club house.  Most of the elements are from or adapted from Creative Fabrica.  My 5 elements are the pumpkins, witches hat, bats, and ghost.  (all Halloween related )

This challenge is a little different, there was a challenge back in 2018. I can't quite remember the exact wording, but  I know  it was something like having to use 20 elements in a page.  I created 20 flair buttons,  to showcase insects.

5 frames:  each one has a font element.

5 labels:   to name the flowers.

5  ribbon bows/knots to  hold the  labels.

For the background paper I used the Allium flower, created a mask,  flood filled, added a background colour.

Sue a great  5+5+5 with those lovely flower photos! I have seen it already on Facebook and there the details are a little bit better to see and admire. Seeing your adventcards I think that maybe I should start thinking and making some Christmas cards and your use of fonts will certainly inspire me to think about those lines too.

Corrie, thank you for the kind words on the native flower page. Coming from one who takes stunning flower photos. I love to photograph wild flower, so many of them are quite small, and I do like the contrast of natural backgrounds of their habitat. The advent pages, were to give ideas, I'm pleased I've given you food for thought. We are quite literally spoilt for choice when it comes to fonts, and their uses are endless. One tip, always keep a copy of the font before duplicating, once happy, the last step is to convert to a raster, to edit.

My 5 elements are:

- 5 photos of berries inside the filmstrip

- 5 stickers with the common names of the berries

- 5 flairbuttons with those berries replacing the letters O in the text

I made the background out of one of the photos with a heavy blur and an overlay with a bokeh effect. A second overlay of the leafs ( a freebie from Corel last year). Stickers made from a label and a lot of lose hay on the bottom.

I've not got a computer set up as yet that has much of anything on it ... so my entry here was just elements easily obtained from PSP itself.  5 shapes, 5 colors and five letters from frame fonts to make the internal shapes.  While not especially hard, it was still fun.  I did find on this old computer an entertaining comic line art script to give it some extra vibrancy, which I suspect will not look good and a bit blurry at 600 ... but was truly vibrant and clear when larger.  I love a synthesizer and all the aspects it can bring to music .  :)

5+5+5  This was so fun; hope this is ok :)

5 cats (although 3 are statues), 5 trees (although there may be more trees), 5 edges (the edges of the glass and window frames and the edges of the magnifying glass would be 3). The edges of the black cat image and the background paper itself would be one frame. A total of five edges. Are these acceptable? ;)

The pictures are my own and a magnifying glass I made.

Happy fall!

Pirkko, it certainly looks like you had fun creating the page. There are lots of cat lovers in the campus. May I make a suggestion, pop into the blog, in there you will find lots and lots of easy tutorials on how to create elements. Choose 3 elements, repeat them 5 times to add to a cat page collage. You will learn how to create your own elements to add to your projects while learning new techniques. I'm sure you will have fun.

Now I can understand: those five elements mean loose parts like flowers, ribbons, etc. that come next to or on top of the pictures, not inside the pictures ... I've never really done scratching on paper with glues and embellishments and pictures etc.  to add .. :) :) .. ok I'll do it again ...

Pirkko I agree with Sue. But Pixelscrapper is now: digitalscrapbook.com and it is a great source of free stuff! From digital papers, templates to an enormous variety of embellisments. When I started here in the campus I didn't have anything, only my photos and what is already inside PSP. It has helped me make lovely layouts while I learned so much more!

yup, I'm a member of Pixel Scrapper (I have never posted any layouts there ) but I just admired the work of others :) and purchased some kits.  Scrapbook Campus is just great, here I learn a lot of scrapbooking :)
