When I came to Bonaire for a longer period a few years ago, I was asked if I wanted to sing in the church choir.

My answer was: I can't sing at all.

But there was a great lack of male voices in the choir and because quantity was more important than quality, I was incorporated.

Back in the Netherlands, where there were also too few men in our church, I also started to participate.

Singing by me is not too bad, although I won't be singing solos.

The photo was taken at Christmas time, therefore Pasku in the background is Christmas in Papiamento.

I again enjoyed participating in the 5 assignments and learned a lot from the questions in the Forum and the answers from Cassel.

Greetings from Bonaire, Jacques

I did project 4 and learned a lot. First to see the video it all looks so simple and easy. I had a nightmare with the Magic Wand. The Magic Wand kept grabbing the entire canvas then it grabbed the plants, then it just would become a spot on the image. I need to spend lots of time with the Wand. The composition is not to my liking too heavy in the top left hand corner. These images are from a trip I took to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Great trip. When I do these assignments I generate lot of questions so I believe the best way to learn this is with a buddy. For me this is impossible so I will learn this by working on my weak points.

I believe I have uploaded all five projects. This one is Project 5. When I changed it to 600X600 the words disappeared so I had to upload this version and deleted the other.  Why would my words disappear when I resized it?

I purposely put the text "Race" in red glitter paper.  Had quite a time getting rid of the text "Race" in blue and create a new vector text to write in the glitter paper.

Please let me know if they didn't upload correctly.

I learned a lot and am looking forward to the Basic Scrap Course - already registered and paid. Await what is next? How do I start the Basic Course?

I still had trouble with the material pallet. I followed the video and I kept being blocked from loading the paper pattern I wanted to use. I did not have access to a frame. All the kits I downloads did not have frames. for me to use. I could have tried to make one. I ran out of time. I am leaving town and where I am going there is no internet. I enjoyed this project, combing elements is a very good idea.

Connie, I was asking mostly because it looks like an element that could have been done with my Enamel script. I was curious if you had done it yourself.

Annie T., such a colorful page with that bird. I really like the use of the patterned papers for the little squares.

Clarine, if the Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V adds a layer, it means it is copying SOMETHING. I am a bit stumped for ideas for now, but I'll do some searching. Otherwise, check back with me through emails and we might need to do a remote session.

Jacques, such a nice colorful layout for the last one. It is so nice to learn little details about everyone.

Annie, I am not exactly sure what you mean in your last sentence "The text of BuSy could I do not have the 2nd letter in colors to yellow corel I think I do not feel like." Could you re-explain?

Mike, maybe THIS ARTICLE could help with the Magic Wand? I think you might have forgotten the shadows on your fourth project. Is that possible?

Mary, whenever you have text wrapped inside a selection, when you resize, the selection does not, so the text is still there, but out of your image. It is a bit of an annoyance. The Basic Scrap Course is a self-paced course, so you can do the lessons at your own leisure. I will plan a group to work on those lessons together (a bit like this Bootcamp) but it won't be until March. But you can start now on the lessons, and contact me if you have any issue.

Reading through the comments, I had a thought so I tried an experiment. I opened a small canvas 900x900 and added a photo as a layer. Then I went to Image/Picture Frame and following the directions there, chose a frame for my photo, making sure it was just on the photo layer. I was pleased to see the frame came in on it's own layer, which I could manipulate with the pick tool, just like the last design of this Bootcamp. If you ever can't find a frame in a kit, look in PSP. There are quite a few available! Here's a graphic of it.

Okay, I think I am going to embarrass myself here but I need to know.   When you hit Crtl + C to copy a layer, do you hit first the Ctrl  key separately and then the C separately, or both at the very same time.  I hit them both at the same time.  is that my issue as to why I can't ever get it to work?

Clarine, hold the Ctrl key, until you ADD the C key. So they have to be held at least momentarily together. I never tried to hold the C key to then hit the Ctrl one.  I always start with my pinky holding the Ctrl key and THEN add the other (works the same for the Shift or the Alt key when needed).

Clarine: the action is to HOLD DOWN  the CONTROL key and tap the "C" while the Control is held down. Same with pasting: Hold down Control and hit "L" to paste to a new layer. Hope this helps..

Hi everybody!

Want to tell you that I am enjoying very much this"campus", what is in, the creative persons that each of you are, I am learning lots....I want to give my special thanks to Cassel, you are such a good teacher, not only in the way you explain everything but doping that we try our best and encourage us to be better every day! Thank you for that!

Never did scrapbooking before so I did want to give it a try, my hobby is photography that I manage with PSP.

Here is my last projet # 5!

Connie, interesting to see that you used the same "template" but upside down. That is how scrapbooking becomes a creative hobby! Good job.

Annie T, that is quite a colorful layout. Very well matching the photo!

Ann S., that is a nice tribute and a hopeful look to the future. I am not politically inclined, and I have no information on Biden's background, but just hearing him talk, softly, positively, professionally, is a world of difference from ... before. And that trick with the frames is a good one. Thanks for sharing it.

Julia, it is a great variation on the theme where you used triangles instead of squares or rectangles. But you can see how you used the same technique, differently. Very creative!

I've been playing with Carole's template for last year's memories and turned it into a Bootcamp Memory of my own work. I think it came out pretty nice. First time I tried a layered paper from one of my kits. Enjoy!

ANN:  Very cool Bootcamp memory page.  Very clever indeed.  And thanks for the tip on hitting those control buttons.  I was always trying to hit both keys at the very same time.  Ha, the times I missed is when it finally attached.  :)

Annie:  You sure live in a beautiful world.   Loved all your projects.

Carole: Thank you also for responding.  Can I ask two totally different questions?   On is about the Hue Map with color sliders.  Does PSP have that?  I've seen lightroom tutorials that use the sliders to calm down or saturate one color at time.  I have not found it in PSP, but I could be looking in all the wrong places.   Also, can I find Pic to Painting plugin anywhere or is that a special purchase type thing.  I am using the 2019 version and also the 2021 version.

Thanks for helping.  I appreciate that!!!

Clarine, the hue adjustment you are talking about, there are different tools you can use, depending on your preference.

Adjust > Color > Channel Mixer

Adjust > Color > Red/Green/Blue

Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Curves

For Pic-to-Painting, it was a separate plugin up until version 2020. However, in version 2021, it has been integrated into the program under a different name. You can find the same effects in the Photography workspace (not the Edit that you used for the Bootcamp) and it is called AI Style Transfer (on the bottom)

We had just over 100 registrants, and only a few have posted. If you are a lurker and have done the projects on your own, take a couple of minutes to post them in this thread. It will give you a chance to participate in the random draw, Monday night.

Com'on, don't be shy!
