Sue Thomas Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 The goose page was a very easy one to create, I will use it in another page, which is in progress, using other images, and literature about the life and habitat of the goose. I duplicated the photo. Instant effects, Retro soft. I then erased the goose revealing the original goose image. I love the subtle tones of the black and white feathers. White morph juvenile goose.
Sue Thomas Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 To many to comment on individually, so I'll congratulate you all for submitting outstandingly beautiful, creative pages.
Bonnie Ballentine Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Lots going on...but I managed some pages...even with all the distractions...however, they did not receive my full time and attention. This is an AnnieCDigitals template. The background is from Myrtle Beach. All the other photos were taken in the Charleston area. Top 2 on left is from the only tea garden in America, Charleston Tea Plantation. Bottom left is the Angel Oak. Top right is a park under the Ravenel Bridge. Bottom right, Shem Creek. I was in Myrtle Beach for a pickleball tournament and continued on to visit a friend on Daniel Island.
Bonnie Ballentine Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 As usual, beautiful creations, Everyone. You never disappoint. Another...trees...you may have seen these trees on other pages. The background is a cut log.
Sue Thomas Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Several techniques and tools used in this project. I like to keep the focus on the subjects I shoot. Same bird two photos, one page, blended both photos, using a mask, and a gradient, frames, extractions, for the background I used the blinds texture, and lightened it, using brightness/contrast.
Sue Thomas Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 I went for hike the other day to one of the Provincial Parks, they have designated trails, all mapped out, suitable for every level of walker. I walked 5 miles surrounded by beautiful autumn colours. In these photos I used local tone mapping, brightness and contrast, and selective focus tools. If you'd like to use these photos, please do so, or if anyone would others, including landscapes, let me know and I'll post a selection.
Karon Dey Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Royanne... Beautiful work on your page. Thanks for letting us know how you did it. Dorothy... Happy Anniversary and sorry it will not be the gala affair you would want. You just take care of yourself and keep out of trouble (LOL). Love your layout, the colors are so vibrant and very reminiscent of the colors used in China. I was able to have dinner aboard and floating restaurant in Hong Kong so this brought back some fond memories. Sue... You just don't stop pumping out great photos, pages and cards :) . Nice job on the goose. Your sparrows quote is lovely. I really like how you framed the birds making them the main focus of the picture. I have never gotten into using the selective focus but seeing how fantastic yours came out, I'm tempted to try. Bonnie... Awesome layout for your South Carolina page. I think my son lives just south of the bottom of the heron's throat. What a great idea to use a cut log as the background on your Story to Tell page. I am so in love with the photo of the tree in the middle.
Sue Thomas Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Thank you Lynda, and Karon for your very kind comments, not only on the pages, and cards, but also on my photography.
Minka Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Wow ... some stunning works to look at and loads of techniques discussed for us to learn and try! I have loved them all - truly each and every one! I can’t wait now to get back home to my real computer and play with some fresh ideas. Working on this little laptop with very little on it is a challenge. LOL. While I have really enjoyed the summer here, it's already getting pretty chilly! Trees are splotchy with color. I just hope the hurricanes could be D O N E! Again, thanks all for sharing your projects.
Royanne Hewko Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Sue love the fall pictures absolutely breath taking. When I was younger I was raised on a dairy farm so we did not have much entertainment always had to be home to mike the cows. But my dad like horses so we had horses and that was our entertainment. In my youth my horse was my best friend, I spent so many hours riding. We entered lots of speed events and did well. Many times we were commented as being such a great team. As the years went by she taught my nephew and my two daughters to ride. Such Cherished Memories. I had a picture painted of her, it is framed and is in my living room. I took a picture of the painting. I used a template to start my page but ended up making the masks myself per Cass and again just applied some brushes 2 colours for the background.
Minka Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Royanne ~ Absolutely lovely. Awesome memories and a great celebration of her life with you and your family. There are some animals that we love but they remain animals -- and some animals that we love and they rise to family status. Sure sounds like that was the case there.
Sheila Hogg Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 During this strange part of the year I have been doing lots of things. Some with PSP and some not. Sorting the house, clearing junk, sitting in the garden, helping my DH, sewing, crocheting and papercrafting. I have made 4 mini scrap albums in the past couple of months (to give to friends) as well as other paper and card crafting things. I did use PSP to edit the photo's though. All the flowers used for embellishments were die cut, coloured, formed and stuck together. I did make the lace frame, leaf branch, birdies on vine, extracted rose, laced border and basket weave pattern in PSP. The Dogrose image was one found on the public domain which originally was a black and white picture. I used the plugin Cybia in Alphaworks to remove the white background to make it just a transparent black lineart drawing. Using layers to add colour and then the cutout tool to change it to what I liked. I used the lighten and darken tool to give some tone. Sorry this is a bit long winded but i think I have done quite a lot over lockdown. TFL.
Karon Dey Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Royanne... Such a beautiful horse and your layout really captures her essence. How wonderful that you had a picture painted of her. I wish I had done that with my Tennessee Walker; or at least borrowed a camera to take a picture. Sheila... You have certainly used your lockdown time to pursue your crafts and you have done an excellent job with each and every one of them.

Sue Thomas Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Beautiful work Shelia, you scrapbooks are absolutely fabulous. Karon, your pages are beautiful, lots of techniques used, well done! Again, 2 photos used, one page created. Mask, a simple chisel frame and text.
Michele Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Again, I am blown away with everybody's projects. <3
Sue Thomas Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I've been getting out as much as I can, as the window of changing colours is very short. The weather has been perfect for kayaking, riding and hiking. Here are some shots from yesterday. Carole was generous enough to give us some autumn coloured elements, in way of appreciation I used them in this page. Kayaking.
Michele Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Love it, Sue. So cute how you have the droopy bow pulling down that first "u" in Autumn.
Cristina Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Wow! Outstanding work has been posted in this thread. It is a joy to enlarge the images and look at all the details... Amazing. Congrats to each and EVERYONE here!
trish williams Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Hi All, sorry haven't been around much, between health and time I don't,t know where the time goes. I have been working on this one all month. Started it with the insect one, and then there were trees, so this coverers both. Made from various elements from various kits. some were reduced so small hope you can see them. I used a lot of different texturing and blending, some elements were from my photos which I extracted and has so many layers, that I kept getting lost. Hope you enjoy, keep healthy and keep safe xxx
Michele Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 What a beautiful page you have created, Trish. I hope you're feeling better. <3
Sheila Hogg Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 i have already put this on the FB page but thought I would share it here too. Whilst on full lockdown we managed to get some projects done. We looked at archs on the web and my husband said he could make one a bit more substantial. So within a day or so of getting the wood he constructed it. We then thought it needed something else and I always wanted an outdoor mirror so he attached one to a bit of trellis and screwed that to the arch. Just waiting for the plants to grow and make it look complete. I used nearly all my own artwork. The vase of flowers was a black and white lineart drawing from Doverpublications. I used the plugin cybia to remove all the white background and make it transparent. I then coloured and shaded it. TFL. Sheila
