I am offering you a scavenger hunt where you have to find some elements and combine them to create a layout or a project. Are you up to the challenge? Although you don't have to create those elements, you also have that option, so either you use what you have downloaded or you can still make them from scratch. Your end result must include ALL of those elements ;). I added some links to tutorials (only accessible to our DIAMOND members) but you can also use elements created from scripts.

paper with text as pattern (here, here, here)

strung elements

something fuzzy like fibers or felt (here)

a wired element (here, here)

at least one bow

a brad

You can choose any theme you want, so what will you create with those elements?

A thunder storm made me sit down  to create  something for the July scavenger hunt.  Here it is.  I used the alpha bead script on the  oh deer.  the rest I created myself. I extracted a sunflower from a photo  to add to two beads.  I  used the soft light blend mode on the letters and flower on those green beads I created. The yellow flowers in the deer photos are sunflowers.  I used a colour from the deer for the  fuzzy paper.  Text overlay on  a sunflower photo. Rope tube. Background paper,  coloured stripes with a blur. Polaroid frame  created for  the photos.  Paper clip and bow are my  own too, which are from my own supplies, all I had to do was colourize the bow to match the project using  adjust HSL.   I think that covers everything.

Scavenger Hunt  Probably doesn't make much sense but poppy is one of the August flowers, the bow was made with Carol's bow script and her instructions on how to make felt, green is the August color and August 1st is my birthday and August 27th is my oldest son's birthday who would have been turning 38 this year.

This is the result of my scavenger hunt. At first I had no idea how connect all the requested elements but something came to mind. Then it was really a "hunt" to find all of those elements. The photos are mine and some of the elements I had in my stock, some are freebees from Carole (thank you for your generosity) and some I downloaded from Pixelscrapper. So everything is there!

I struggled with this challenge for days; whatever I was doing was not pleasing me. To have so many items in one layout is something that I am not used to, and that's why it is good for me to participate in it.

But in the end, I came up with something...

Cassel: NaturalRope2 Tube, BowScript15, and followed her Pinned paper tutorial.

I used a regular shadow for the bow, but I am not sure if I should have done it differently. Bows and Shadows are something I need to improve.

Fonts: Bauhaus93 and Emily Regular

Now I want to try the Cluster Challenge, something I like to see in other projects but doesn't come naturally to me.

This was definitely a challenge.  I used a freebie kit  by Antebellum press called "Bohemian Sunshine".  I also used a couple elements from Angel Scraps kit called "A Mother's Love".   I changed the color on  some of the elements.  I made the felt, the paper clip and the word frame.  The picture is of my daughter who just turned 33.  I had problems again with my shadows and what layers my elements need to be in realistically- like the paint shouldn't be on top of some papers but under others but I think I figured it out.

Lynda:  Happy Birthday!  My grandson's birthday is on the same day.

To every one else:  Great job on the hunt!  The layouts are awesome.

Well done to you all on your projects for this challenge.

Lynda Happy Birthday for the 1st August.... it will be here before you know it.

Cristina even though you may have struggled with this challenge you achieved a lovely result. I like your choice of fonts and the creative background caught my eye and fits so well in the layout.

best wishes to you all,

Dawn.

Dawn, thank you! <3

I started with a white wood pattern background, which in the end, I used it as the photos mats. But I did not like the text overlay on it, and that was what slowing me down. After many trials and errors, I finally found something that I liked: darker wood pattern background paper and low opacity text overlay.

Now, next challenge, cluster :)
