Minka Posted March 22, 2020 Share Posted March 22, 2020 Been playing with Cassel's class ... and learned a few things so far, but it was late and my mind was turning to mush. Will have to try again when I am a wee bit more vibrant! I guess the only good thing we can say about this "hunkering down" - is we have plenty of time to learn stuff. I made some oddball shapes ... managed to even change the lines ... but didn't have the script tool to add tubes. Found it this morning on her site ... YEA! Will go back and try again later. Had lots of fun with it anyway. Made one of Henri, one of three kits I helped Mama raise the first summer they were born. I named them and fed them and they even knew their names. They followed me around like puppies. But I know not to trust them ever again after the first snowfall. He still knew his name though ... because look at that stare when I called out to him, he stopped in his tracks and looked right at me. He also ran up to the deck to get a customary treat, which I gave him without going near. I was pleased to see he was as leery as me ... but he still kind of met me half way. I have had a similar problem with psp 2020 and have been waiting for it to happen again so that I can let Cassel know the steps that led to the washed out result. I seemed to have started something with my black and white, they are popping up everywhere, lol xx Glad it inspired everyone xx Bit in the dumps at the mo, finally got a delivery spot for tomorrow, under vonerable people, all went well ,klk to pay and the server was to overwelmed to take the money, it said ring the special land line # it had an hour wait as did my bank, the slot timed itself out and they only supplied one slot, so no food. Henri was one of triplets, he had a sister and a brother. Their mother (which I helped raise, too) made her den six feet off the end of my deck. I know she did this on purpose as she knew I would help her. She only had three working legs. I set up little feeding stations on my deck for them along with everything else I fed. One night I had 29 raccoons, a deer, two gray fox and a skunk all eating peaceably on my deck. The skunk was the only ornery one and I would open the kitchen window and holler at her to settle down and she did. You could never tell me they didn't know they had a good thing going on. Even the skunk brought her young by one day - full sun - and lined them up on the top stair and made noises for me to come look. I did ... and then she marched them away single file. The copd plays up a bit especially in the morning and early evening ... that is the norm for me now. Our supermarkets had stopped the click and collect a couple of weeks ago which was the main way that I shopped but I think the Aussie Government has convinced them to bring it back online for the vulnerable. The last time I was in the supermarket there was very little in the meat isle and the toilet paper, tissue and hand sanitizer shelves were empty. My daughter and I have agreed to shop on a "as need" basis seeing as the supermarkets are remaining open. Huge job losses here in Australia so the recession has set in big time. I remember when my parents and grandparents talked about the great depression and I never thought that I would see similar. I do grow a few herbs but I think I will grow a few veggies as well ... one never knows! Australia has closed their state borders so no travel interstate and borders will be policed strictly. Fines of up to $15,000 may apply and with the dollar value dropping I don't think people will be too keen to push the button. Sorry to hear that you have no food! Are you able to access any other form of help? No matter what restriction or help is offered there are always those who slip through the loop and you may be one of them Trish ... you need to holler loud and clear! Take good care my friend. I have always found that if you are accepted by the wildlife then you feel more 'at home' ... a sense of really belonging. Minka Posted March 25, 2020 Share Posted March 25, 2020 I don't know if any of you subscribe to BaBa Mail ... but today's issue had one of the most heartwarming stories with pictures of folks at different places in the world experiencing first hand social distancing. It was soooo moving I found I had a couple of tears in my eyes. Grandparents looking through a window to see their first grandchild for the first time, a couple obviously missing each other as they both work in the line of fire in differing ways... a married couple who she is in a nursing home on lockdown so he is outside her window. I mean really ... there isn't anyone in the world that could have looked at those shots and not felt something in their heart. I saved them ... and because I have so few photos here, that is what I played with today following Cassel's free class. I'm going to share just a few ... hope you don't mind. There is so much talent, and creativity in the projects. They are a great source of inspiration. Such a beautiful sunrise this morning. JJ and I enjoying the warmth. I sat with him for a while, with a cuppa and the camera, at a distance mind. As he won't let me get to close. It's called social distancing. The frame is Cassel's edge punch. I love these punches.
