Annie Tobin Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Thanks Michele. Cassel has covered the "tube" issue beautifully. With digital scrapbooking most of the elements in a scrap kit are what I would refer to as tubes because they are an image without a background. There are a few artists who specialize in tubes (extractions) such as Betsie, Guismo, Gerry, Graph-Sabine, Insanytee, Jen Vrouw, JHanna, Kikirou and, Mou ... just to name a few, lol! I have a certificate in extraction, doing it the old fashioned way, which I still consider to be more polished than the techniques offered by Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop etcetera. Rather a time consuming task though ... much quicker to use the software options which are being improved all the time! <3
Michele Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Thanks, Carole and Annie. That clears it up for me. To be perfectly honest, I use Clipping Magic for more complicated images I want to "tube." (Did I say that correctly?) Now I just have to remember the terms. LOL
Sue Thomas Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 I made two completely different pages last night, one for my baby granddaughter, who has a virus, which is doing the rounds, and the other one using quite a few tools. The background paper took the longest to do, using the masked photo of the chipmunk, seamless tiling, motion blur, radial blur and gaussian blur, texture. Again Carol's corner punches came in handy again.
Larry Hicks Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Hi, many thanks for the comments and words of encouragement. I really enjoyed using the techniques from Carole's (aka Cassel's) webinars. Now my cousin wants me to re-make her into a witch and put her into next years picture. For the our house on Halloween, just add flashing lights, jack-o-lanterns, tombstones, and two types of "monster" music and you have the reason why the kids called it "the scary man's house". I did explain to the little ones that the sounds were just a recording.
Michele Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Lovely work as always, Sue. I hope your grand feels better sooner than later. I always feel so helpless when babies are sick.
Annie Tobin Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Two cuties Sue, well done Hon. Wishing your baby granddaughter well soon! <3
AprilDawn Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 well done to everyone for all your creative projects for the month of October. best wishes, Dawn
trish williams Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Bon Fire Night is here again, although the fireworks havent stopped since halloween.
Annie Tobin Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Great job on both Trish and your pic to painting is stunning! ;)
Lynda DiGregor Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 I've been having so much fun playing with Carole's cubic pattern in Lab 9-1 module and then a couple of deer showed up in my backyard so I decided to put them in back of the cubic pattern. Also encased one of our neighborhood cardinals. Kind of silly but fun nonetheless. :-)
Annie Tobin Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Silly can be fun Lynda and you have turned the cubic pattern into fun with a difference, well done Hon.
Lynda DiGregor Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Thanks Annie....always sweet and positive :-)
Lynda DiGregor Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Thought I'd share this. My 16 year old granddaughter went to Homecoming recently and she sent me these photo. Of course I couldn't let it go so here is a photo collage of the night.
Annie Tobin Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Lynda, the simplicity of this is divine. Beautiful photos of a beautiful young couple and your color scheme is perfectly complimentary. I love it my friend. <3
Cristina Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Linda, you used the cubic pattern in a very creative way, and the result is great. Beautiful photos of your granddaughter/couple, and the layout is lovely. I am sure she will be happy to see it.
Michele Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 You did a great job, Lynda. I'll bet your granddaughter loved it. There's a new thread for November. You might want to share it there so more people can enjoy it.
Lynda DiGregor Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Micfin, she did like it but her mother liked it more....no accounting for mothers! :-)
Sue Thomas Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 I'm cracking on with Christmas cards, in between I've started some of next year's birthday cards, seeing as the weather is snowy and cold. Having fun with some of Carole's text tutorials.
Annie Tobin Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 Beautiful use of text for this page Sue, very cute end result which a 2yr old will love to bits! <3

Sue Thomas Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 Thank you Cristina! There are over a dozen text tutorials, that not counting the tile text, cutout text to mention a few. I haven't counted them all, but there must be over 20 tutorials relating to Text.
