I can understand not wanting to slice through them, or to make smaller photographs where they wouldn't have that impact they do. Thank you Jeni, I think that most of the photographers among us don't like to "maltreat" their photos. 5
Corrie Kinkel Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Oh Donna that looks terrible! Luckily you have the photos of last year and maybe all is not lost and some of the plants will survive and perform next year. If not: think of the bright side and plant new ones! 3

I'm already downloading screen shots of the ones that I want to plant if my old ones don't revive. The tree and the hydrangea were budding and then the buds just died. The insides are still green. 1 1

They're more about teaching various techniques using different tools, like what I posted before: Mandala, Typography Effect, Light and Shine to Anything, etc. I have been watching not only Affinity Photo videos but also Designer and Publisher videos. A few months ago, I watched Melissa Shanhun's scrapbooking video tutorial, "Make a Digital Scrapbook Page in Photoshop Elements" (2023). I recreated the layout and posted it here. YouTube doesn't offer many suggestions for PSE Scrapbooking videos, and the one I saw not long ago is this: Getting Started with Digital Scrapbooking in Adobe Photoshop Elements. I don't know the person and haven't watched the video, so I cannot say if it is good. But one thing I know is that it's very difficult to find anyone like Carole. No matter how many videos I’ve watched, I've only started to learn the programs, which takes time. Thank you Cristina. I'm going to try the Melissa Shanhun's one to start. I agree fully, nothing out there even comes close to how Carole takes a rank beginner that never used a graphics program to making layouts in two short weeks in a bootcamp. 4

It has been such a horrible spring here near Cleveland, OH. I am featuring photo that I took last year of my Japanese maple, my oakleaf hydrangea, my clematis and my lilac. The second layout shows how my plants look after a horrible spring that rained and never became even warm. My landscaper has advised me to wait until the beginning of June to see if anything blooms. I don't have a photo of my clematis since I can't even find the roots. Donna, these last bushes look so sad. The weather causes us so much heartache. I am sure the joy you feel when they wake up again will surpass the sadness now. 4 1

He also has some online learning courses that have a fee. There is also a forum for PSE called Photoshop Elements and more that has a lot of good information a tutorials. Thank you Donna, I have seen some of his videos. I like them. Was hoping for the beginning to end type. I have meant to look into the the paid version but havent had the time. 3

I started learning PSE through the HTG Photo course and have also watched many of his videos on YouTube. The course is very complete and covers every tool and workspace, including the Organizer. It consists of 32 Modules, and the last ones have a few projects. I've learned a lot about PSE, but it is NOT like the Bootcamp here, and I'm not sure if this is how others want to learn the program. I don't know this forum you mentioned, Donna; it could be interesting. Susan, I haven't seen many available videos from Melissa Shanhun, and I'm not sure if they exist. I'll watch the video from "Katie the Creative Lady" to see if it is what I want, because I don't need to learn the basics of scrapbooking, but how to do it using the tools PSE has, and are different from PSP. 2 1

Thank you Cristina. This is very helpful. I did watch "Katie the Creative Lady". they were good, except the loooong time going over her kit she is using. Her teaching is largely to sell her kits. I am going to look into the HTG course you mentioned, at least it will teach me where and how to use the tools. I liked the YouTube videos of his and it turns out I did see the Melissa Shanhun one as well, it was already on my bookmarks. I need to rewatch it because it was too long ago now. Your words are so right, "I dont need to learn the basics of scrapbooking, but how to do it using the tools PSE has." I should be looking at it from that point of view. 3 1

It was also really basic, more for people who are beginning scrapbooking than about PSE. The only new information was why she started saving the file as TIF, not PSD, years ago. I only watched this video, so I cannot say all are like that. After taking the HGT Training Course (George Peirson) and watching hundreds of his videos, I have a good basic knowledge of the program. You can watch a video on his site and see if this is something for you. Yesterday, YouTube suggested two old videos from Veronica Spriggs's channel “Seamless Patterns By Posh.” How To Make A Scrapbook Page In Photoshop Elements For Beginners - Digital Scrapbooking Tutorial. Digital Scrapbooking Tutorial For Beginners With Photoshop Elements 14 It has more information about the process and PSE. I liked her style, but most of her videos are for PS. 3 1 1

Most of them say they are smaller files than the PSD. 4

Sadly, my memory of those is zilch. I have been using Jasc and Corel PaintShop Pro for too long to remember much about the programmes I used in the early 90s when I began using computers for my work. 4

Another reason was that she started saving the file as a TIF because she was working on Windows and couldn’t see the preview. Now she works with a MAC, so it doesn’t matter, but she still does it out of habit. 4

Jeni, I've noticed this type of file in some designers' kits but have never paid much attention to it. Thanks to Katie Nelson's video, I know a bit more about it. However, out of habit, I will still continue saving the files as PSDs. 3 1
