Donna Sillia Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Day 7 - I cheated and used the cass photocircle script for the first page for my circles. The 2nd page I made the masks for the photos. 1 10
Clarine Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I am having a heck of a time finishing the project with the templates assigned. So, I am trying to finish with Day 1 templates that seem to work best with the photos I want to use to finish my story. 2 10

Clarine Posted February 24 Posted February 24 This the reason for my subject choice. In a few months we will celebrate our daughters arrival day. It's so fun to see her with her little "mini me" daughter. Little Emmy already has many of her mom's mannerisms. 2 10
Donna Sillia Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I decided to make a back page for my magazine. I used a graphic downloaded from Adobe Express and made it a brush. After I made several layers, I used a blend mode. The stamp is from my Travel workshop. 1 10

Art Kuiper Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Well, the workshop has come to an end with Day 7. What a lot of fun. I was surprised that with no template for Day 7 to start my thinking that I had some difficulty coming up with an idea that stayed with the waterfall theme. In the end I abandoned the masks and created a cascade of photos to finish. I have enjoyed seeing all the stories that the participants shared with their photos and words. Until next time. 2 9

I tried the process and noticed in 2.6 when I added the recolor layer, it automatically grouped the text and the recolor layer. Then when you add the mask, it is putting the mask layer above the group. You have to drag the mask down to the recolor layer for this to work. Give it a try and see if that works for you. Expand I tried to do this process again and followed the original tutorial step by step and it just worked as it did in 2.5. I also found that yesterday when I wanted to use this effect on a different page I probably wasn't following the tut to the letter and thought it had something to do with the update to 2.6. But now after a good nights sleep and a day away from the computer it works normally. Conclusion: user error 4 1

Carolyn Rye Posted February 25 Posted February 25 @Cassel I can't find where to see "Current Layer & Below" or "Current Layer". Where can I find that please? When I created the frame on the four-part page I did copy the smaller rectangle to this page and then resized it. If I want to adjust the Brightness/Contrast on a particular layer I have found where to go to the Adjustments icon, and adjust there as required. That worked out fine for that layer. I am now trying to do another Adjustment to a second layer and what I seem to be getting is the same adjustment on both layers even though I want a different adjustment to each of the layers. What am I missing there? 3
Carolyn Rye Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Day 7 using Affinity. I do like using Affinity but so many things are different, especially with adjustments etc. I know it is probably me because want to go to the same places as PSP. I have to realize that it is not PSP it is Affinity. 2 9

What am I missing there? Expand Do you have the layer active? If you want to add a different Adjustment layer, it will be created above the active layer and will affect all the layers below it. Of course, if it is the bottom layer, it is ok, but otherwise, it would need to be GROUPED with the layer itself (we did that in the lesson to change the color of the text). Then, additional Adjustment layers can be added in the same group if they are to apply to the same layer. In fact, Adjustment layers work in Affinity pretty much the same way as in PSP. 5 1

I have just tried selecting all of one of the groups and then selecting Adjustment again and I think it is working this time. I feel I must be doing it wrong because it ends up with 2 adjustment layers under each of the Groups. It is working but there must be an easier way, maybe? Thank you for your help Carole. 2

Expand Art, close to where I live there is an area called Niagara. It is part of a beautiful scenic coastal route in Southland, named the Catlins. Yes, there are waterfalls in Niagara, and, yes, they also have a sign pointing to the Niagara Falls! https://southlandnz.com/listing/niagara-falls-manga-piri/189/ You can see them, and the fall might be about 5-6 inches! It is probably a rapid rather than a waterfall. It is stated the 'falls' were named by a surveyor with a sense of humour. 4
