You did an amazing job! When Xavier is old enough he will realize how much work goes into all the great birthday parties he had over the years and the big part his grandmother played in it. I hope he has inherited some of your creativity.

We had something similar for Logan when he turned 2 in Feb 2023. He's a big fan of Toy Story so that was the theme of his birthday party.

As much as he'll love this, when Xavier grows up, he'll realize just how amazing his nana is.

I = Inshore fishing

I had a whole list of elements to create for the party. Everything is from various images and some of them were not the best quality either! Here are the components for the various directions (the pieces were not glued yet, so they are not all even). Then, a few business signs. And the cake topper. I also worked on Mack, the big truck, with all the accessories. The cabin was built with boxes, and I made the various components (eyes, grill, stickers, wheels, mouth, etc.).

H = Hi-tech lines

Thank you and I learned from you to use those punches very big instead of smaller, they have more impact in this way. The background paper was a lucky find by using the random feature in the texture cellular.

This one was created in AFFINITY. The tag was one I had previously created in PSP, all I had to do was add the appropriate text.

Absolutely! I've put the folder into my hard drive, I will be using them, now I know how to use and manipulate them to suit my needs, which at the time of acquiring them I didn't have a clue.

Sometimes a texture can make all the difference.

For the top diamond shaped paper I used one my frozen lake photos, ice and snow striations, the other two are textures I've had for the longest time, discovering them in a folder on one of my memory sticks.

The textures you added to your papers are wonderful.

I do the same, grouping enables editing as and when needed. I often hide the promoted layer, it depends on the paper I am using. Also you can move those shadows around the page.

It goes to show how much we love those corner punches. I see you used them to balance the page, as did I. Having text on the top right and bottom left, I felt the layout needed that little something extra to balance it. Love the colours you used. The dark green on the background paper, in my view draws the eye to the centre of the page, as it should, focusing on the photos.

Oeps I see now that I used the same cornerpunch as Sue did, but I will keep it on my layout. Again I used a photo from Muir Woods National Monument; the atmosphere there is so serene! While I was visiting there were lots of people, but it was calm, almost everybody was quiet and in awe of the very tall redwoods. The backgroundpaper has a cellular texture and the paper above comes from my Build a Kit - Woodland walks. The dragon flies are brushes from a set by lileya that I have found somewhere a long time ago. The top paper is by Jessica Dunn with a blendmode to let it fit in with my colors. Fonts are Astrid and Bahnschrift Condensed.

G = Gutting (refers to removing the guts from a fish) Anyone who has done much fishing and don't filet their catch has done plenty of this.

the funnier thing is, I've seen all the layouts and knew what I was supposed to do, but as I was getting into working on it, my brain switched to the wrongs tracks. That script has lots of protentional. I'm thinking of graffiti that you blend into the cracks and crags of the bricks. From that Q&A question I had awhile back with the displacement map technique.

thank you so much Sue. Your comments sends me off to work with a big smile on my face. I used the PSP Cutout Effect, I really like it. In this one, I likely hid the promoted layer so I could move the effect where ever I want. I tend to not merge the black and white layers, but group them in case I want to change the opacity or blur of each one. I remember Michele using it a few years ago, I couldnt figure out how to use it. But in my short downtime before work or bed I'll watch the tutorials in the campus and a number of tutorials has this effect in it, and there is where I learned it. It's such an awesome effect.

I had a good laugh at your expense about that first sentence 😆but you did a good job redeeming yourself with this layout and all the scripts you used. That new bricks script is a really nice one and having seen it here in action it goes on my wishlist.

I should preface this with...I'm an idiot. I didn't read the instructions for the Tut-tech challenge, just saw the words "Cutout effect". So I did that. then AFTER I made this layout I read the blog article. Oops! so I'm posting it here. I saw a meme on FB like this but wanted to use my own photo. I used the new Bricks script for the background. I was getting an error at first (refer to the first sentence) then used a big preset shape and it worked like a charm. Fun to choose which style and color, thanks to the accompanying PDF. I stretched the bricks to fully cover the background. I also used the torn photo tutorial and the Lifted Photo script. The photo has a PSP frame. also used cass-screws picture tube. Fonts are Galpike and Eds Market Bold Slant (probably CF)

F = Fathom - measurement of water depth. Six feet of depth. Many nautical charts are marked in fathoms, not feet

The first thing I did was to create a mask, to slip the Thrasher into. I used several different techniques to achive differnet cutouts. Carole's corner punch.

E = Eel

I agree, a very nice cutout effect. Which technique did you use, as there are several? A subtle bevel gives a nice cut out effect.
