QP-4Extra: CHICAGO TRIP2 – Played with color changing, hue/saturation/lightness, Target brush, my girls are coming home tomorrow so, maybe, more photos! This is their Lake Michigan boat ride and the Chicago Zoo.
Suzy, if you go to the page for Q&A Calls and click on the VIDEO button, scroll down and the transcripts are underneath each video screen.
QP-4: CHICAGO TRIP 2022 – My daughter, Laurey, and granddaughter, Jackie are visiting Chicago as we speak. Laurey sent me some photos. So here are some. And, yes, Carole, I used the Colorize tool under Hue. More to come…
Cassel/Carole: “Did you try to use the Hue map to change colors?” No, I favor the Paint to Target brush. I find if I’m fairly careful, I don’t even need a selection. It’s my go-to tool, now! And, yes, that building was awesome!
R = Rodeo — a sporting event comprising many different sports, including the following: Calf Roping, Breakaway roping, Team roping, Barrel racing, Steer wrestling, Goat tying, Bronc riding, Bull Riding, Steer roping and Pole bending.
Nice layout Bonnie. The text cutter was covered in the last Master Class webinar – Title Work 3.
Here’s my QP3 – BALTICON 50-2016 – Our crew stayed in this glorious Airbnb in Baltimore. George RR Martin, the author of Game of Thrones, was the special, featured guest at the convention, speaking and signing autographs.
QP-3-EXTRA: Well, I got one done so far. Of course I had to go and decide to change some colors and that’s why it’s taking SO LONG!
When I first encountered Adam, he was known as “Lookout Onacliff.” It took about a year before he shared his real name and an actual photo! (Mr. Mysterious!) 😀
(Hey, gals, don’t you agree it was worth the wait?)
Sorry, Bonnie! I should have said Text Cutter. It’s on the toolbar under the word Action, between Presets and Fonts. There’s a preview button and a cutter button.
L = Luge — a Winter Olympic sport in which competitors race down an ice track in a small one- or two-person sled lying supine (face up) and feet-first.
I = Irish Road Bowling — competitors attempt to take the fewest throws to propel a metal ball along a predetermined course of country roads.
Today we have 2 photos of virtual friends: Clem always refers to her boy as “Monster.” Darryl and Leslie met in our chatroom and the wedding will be Spring 2023!
Suzy and Susan Ewart: Confession, that photo was shot with my iPhone XS using its Portrait mode. The model tends to preen whenever she sees me looking. 😉
I think my High and Low Key scripts were Corel freebies. I tried the High B&W today but it gave an error saying it didn’t recognize the format of the photo, which was an ordinary, b&w .jpg?
Following this conversation, I’m not much of a photographer but love to create drama when I can. Perhaps this shot, used to simulate a CD cover, would be considered Low Key?
Here are my first Quick Pages (includes Diamond bonus). I decided to do a series featuring my friends from my Game of Thrones book club (ASOIAF). First are the administrators of this huge (80,000) group when at the 2018 convention. Second is my friend Aku, in 2020.
Bonnie-Pickleball looks like fun. I played a little tennis back in the day, but my back wouldn’t allow it now. Nice to see something new!
Bonnie: Thank you for that. Regarding fonts, I find it helps to consult my Nexusfont app which has to be open when I’m using PSP, so I have it open automatically when I turn the computer on. With it I can type in the word and scroll through the fonts in a larger format than the font tool in PSP. Fun fact, I had a totally different font and even did a font cutter in that layout at first but hadn’t put the word in Nexusfont. I did that this morning on a whim and wow! that new font “Banana Pancakes” looked perfect for the Korean sport.
Here is my granddaughter, Anna, practicing TAEKWONDO. It is a Korean martial art and an Olympic event. Here are the details of my layout:
- Template Lab 12-06
- South Korean Flag Palatte
- Kit- papers-marisaL-presence-mini
- Title font – Banana Pancake
- S.Korean/USA flag brad – Google search
- Taekwondo graphic – Google search
- Blue ribbons – changed from pink via Target Brush
- Heart scatters – jmadd-choose to shine (just because she’s my love)
X = XC Skiing — races over snow-covered terrain while wearing skis.
U = Uneven Bars — an artistic gymnastics apparatus used only by female gymnasts comprising a pair of parallel bars set at different heights (also called asymmetric bars).
I’m here, also. I think I may have done this two years ago. I have some old layouts that have a LOT of journaling and, to me, are not very appealing. Hopefully, this time, I can do better.
Bonnie: I was surprised to tune into CBS-TV just after 5pm last night (8/13) and find a Pickleball Championship! Considering that’s “prime-time sports” I’m wondering if that’s new programing? Your sport is getting more visible! Did your league compete?
Carole/Cassel: I see an overlap with QP on the 21st?

S = Shuttlecock — the English name of the sport Jianzi, like badminton played with the feet (Shuttlecock is also the name of the object that is hit in Badminton).
kasany: The green Katydid is a cutout text layered over the original photo. Here are two others – Spring and Happy Birthday

I’m re-watching the Titles 3 Master Class and here are two projects I created so far.
I was just scrolling back and I see we missed “L” in the last series. So here it is:
L = Log Rolling — two challengers attempt to stay on a floating log the longest.
G = Gymkhana — a multi-game equestrian event that is performed to display the talents of the horses and their riders.
Bonnie: Your Legends page is beautiful! Is it from a template or did you do the design yourself? And the colors are gorgeous, too! Have your friends seen it yet? You go woman!
Jannette: VERY nice! That sounds like an interesting club. Paris is on my “bucket list” (verlanglijstje) of places to visit! 🙂
Jannette: Thank you for your kind words. I live in a condominium and that little cherry tree is about 10 feet from my kitchen window. The feeder you see is for suet balls. Starlings prefer that to sunflower seeds.
