Went from Mushrooms to Murmurations – I used a template from the Bootcamp with some revisions and I’m showcasing my European Starlings that are dominating my feeders right now. They inspire awe when they gather by the thousands and perform their “Murmuration.” exhibiting wonderful flying acrobatics that makes Tom Cruise jealous. 😉 The birds start as dull beige fledglings with a tiny bit of dark feathers around the waist and slowly the mature coloration arrives. They were brought to New York by a Shakespeare enthusiast who wanted to stock our country with all the birds in the plays. Only the starlings survived the transplant and have expanded by the millions, becoming a pest species.
My background is a photo of the Murmuration from Unsplash by Walter Baxter. The font is Britannic Bold throughout.
August 10, 2022 at 5:31 pm #80732Ann Seeber, What nice photos you had of those beautiful birds. The black layers around the photos look great. What about the bird feeder? is it in your garden or on your window? I looked it up on google and I v collected a few very beautiful photos of that kind of bird, it might be I one day make a scrapbook page of it too. I v seen them by thousands leaving in autumn the country to fly to warmer area’s.
August 10, 2022 at 5:50 pm #80735Jannette: Thank you for your kind words. I live in a condominium and that little cherry tree is about 10 feet from my kitchen window. The feeder you see is for suet balls. Starlings prefer that to sunflower seeds.
August 11, 2022 at 6:25 am #80752Anne Lamp, I’d like to present my INSECTS-project. These insects can be found in Our Fractal Garden (when I find information about them). Insects are presented in digital paper right now.
August 11, 2022 at 7:53 am #80753At last, after three days of hard work to get my laptop suited for two numbers of PSP it’s fixed. For a Dutch club, I’ve made something about France. Mandatory was a basket of French bread, The tour Eiffel and the word art BonVoyage. Here is my submission.

August 11, 2022 at 9:32 am #80756Jannette: VERY nice! That sounds like an interesting club. Paris is on my “bucket list” (verlanglijstje) of places to visit! 🙂
August 11, 2022 at 2:04 pm #80768I’m re-watching the Titles 3 Master Class and here are two projects I created so far.
August 11, 2022 at 3:24 pm #80772Ann, I like your works. Is first (green work) any deformation?
August 11, 2022 at 3:56 pm #80775kasany: The green Katydid is a cutout text layered over the original photo. Here are two others – Spring and Happy Birthday

August 11, 2022 at 4:32 pm #80780Ann Seeber, I had to look that up on google, Starling, and Mandatorium. Wikipedia writes a lot about both. I v learned some of you.
August 12, 2022 at 3:01 am #80789Hi, Just a quick rummage though some old photos of my favorite sport plus a image or two downloaded from the net to fill out the templates provided by Cassel; thanks for those.
August 12, 2022 at 11:36 pm #80809Hi Guys, I am getting near the end now this is page 36, only 2 pages to go on the memory book of my daughter’s life to this day. This is page covers her time as a manager owner of a wool and haberdashery shop. She designed knitting patterns , someone may have heard of her patterns Extreme Handknits. The green cardy is one of her patterns. Most of the elements would be from my memories designers, the ric rac is one of carole’s scripts and the lace is carole’s tube.

August 13, 2022 at 11:18 am #80817Jenny (UK) likes her big garden. She sees hedgehogs very often. They are welcome visitors in Jenny garden and house as well:)
Pictures taken by Jenny, a pic in the center is a fractal created by Jenny.
I used photo taken by Jacek and free template of PSP.
August 13, 2022 at 5:13 pm #80825Shirley – have enjoyed seeing some of the book you are developing for your daughter.
Colin – Fishing was my husband’s favorite pastime.
This is lab 9 Mod 12 and the finish of Lab 9. It is a rework of a Christmas layout I did some time ago. Just changed it up a bit to include the elements developed in this module: mitten – did put the shape in the shape directory; created both red and green mittens and decided that they would look good as a streamer so that is how I am displaying them (and I saved the streamer also); snowflake – this is the 3rd one created and the best in my opinion; circle of dots – tutorial described how to do 3 colors so I decided to do 4 colors. The paper is from PS.
August 14, 2022 at 1:58 am #80876Thank you Mary, I rather like your circle of dots they look like Christmas lights.
August 17, 2022 at 4:35 am #81124This week I worked on an easy tag. It’s made out of an ‘FU’ (free to use) scrap kit from “Pammyyy’s Perfections” named cupcakes and coffee. It’s still available. Only the face was from me and I places the strawberry on top of the cake. The rest is in the kit.

August 19, 2022 at 6:22 pm #81261Neat, Jannette, its making me hungry!
L is for my favorite book(s) – Lord of the Rings. There is so much in them – Tolkein was a really great writer – there is a lot of “meat” in these books. The papers and the large letter L are mine. The pictures are from various web sites. The ring is from Nice Png; the button next to the L was developed from a picture on the web. The font is Old English. M is the next letter and is in the middle of the alphabet – it will also be in the middle of my album and it will be at least a double page – M is for Memphis – the town I have lived in most of my life.
The journaling on Lord of the Rings is really a very MINIMAL telling of the story. Peter Jackson also did a minimal telling of the story even though he did a wonderful job in 3 movies. My MINIMAL telling of the story tells base bones and misses a few bones. OH-OH – left out that there were 2 hobbits left after Frodo and Samwise took off. So they had to be added. They are in the 2nd LO.

August 20, 2022 at 2:24 pm #81305Finally back at it, here is my Lab Module 5-12.
Arrows – loved this one and never would have guessed how to do this on my own.
Cogwheels – you could get lost in all the variations there is to make, really enjoyed it, but not so great at designing them into a layout, looks like a rats nest (err, uhm..I mean a Squirrels nest). Fun to make though.
QR code – had some problems with this but got there in the end. on this layout I made it super small and lowered the opacity….cause well, I forgot about it until I was checking to see if I added all the elements so it’s just stuck on, it doesn’t look good in this layout.
Fonts are Masha (Creative Fabrica) and Masterfile (Google fonts). Wood paper and overlay on the green paper from Digital Scrapbook. Green Paper mine using texture effects. Used texture effects on the cogwheels and arrows and main title font and inner bevels and used hue/saturation/lightness and opacity on papers/elements. Did not shadow the “baby” word as it’s meant as if I wrote it on afterward in felt pen, on a uneven surface. Story of the new “white-tail” generation may be in the Story Time workshop coming up. Photo is mine.
Everyone’s layouts are so creative and a joy to see.
August 21, 2022 at 5:54 am #81341I got pretty “scrapbooky” for the Volunteering theme. I used a template from the ALFLT January 2022 blog train. I had to resize everything to comply with FB’s new pic size. (Stupid FB!) I found the pics on Google and the font is Love It, free from Creative Fabrica 12 Days of Christmas-The-Mega-Free-Fonts-Bundle this year.
August 23, 2022 at 9:59 am #81486Story Time Workshop-Day1-Extra: I used the free mini kit offered by Pixelscrappers this week. (marisa-lerin_51798_autumn-art-mini-kit) I decided to use as much of it as possible, so this layout is rather cluttered. Not my usual style! The “story” was actually part of the kit, also.
August 24, 2022 at 4:14 pm #81564Mary I love your Lord of the Rings layout for the L. We have all the books and the DVD’s as well and we are rewatching them once in a while on a rainy winter’s day.
August 24, 2022 at 7:16 pm #81585Corrie Kinkel – thank you.
I have a problem with the Create a Watercolor Effect with PSP. Every time I start to brush over the picture, my PSP dies…immediately when I start brushing. Anyone else have that problem? I know several of you have shown what you have done with the watercolor brushes – I’m at a complete loss. I’ve restarted the computer. I have cleaned out the temporary files, etc. with my Dell tools. I have closed out everything except PSP2022 Ultimate and the file I’m working on. ALSO. What in the world is the “Edge Preserving Smooth” effect and where is it????
August 24, 2022 at 7:53 pm #81587I may have solved my problem. Let you know later. I’ve got an appointment now!
Well, Carole told me where to look for the smooth.
This is my result.- This reply was modified 2 years, 1 month ago by Mary Solaas.
August 25, 2022 at 3:27 am #81611Just a little fun with Secondary Colors yesterday. The “models” are my avatar from the game. The game was down so I had to use some avatars that I had previously used. Because of that, I needed to recolor the outfits using the Smart Selection Brush and the Change to Target Brush. (I think I finally got the hang of the Smart Selection Brush. lol) The Artistic Effect Balls and Baubles was used to make the background a little more interesting. The font is Summer Square.
August 25, 2022 at 4:13 am #81613One pic changed using the Hue Up/Down brush. I used the Change to Target brush to recolor the flowers to match the surfboards. The font is Kool Beans. (I didn’t have a lot of time that day, but things can be done quickly with all the tools PSP gives us.)
August 25, 2022 at 5:28 am #81615Michele: I’ll have to try that Hue Up/Down brush. Love your colorful designs. I’ve missed seeing your Fabulous Divas!
August 25, 2022 at 5:31 am #81616Thanks, Ann. You should definitely try the hue up/down brush. Play with it and you’ll probably find it to be very useful and fun.
