I made something for my cat's "Gotcha Day"

Day 3 - My great-granddaughter Magic and her golden apples. I used the mini kit from the lesson and Carole's scatters. The leaves are from a mini kit from MarisaL called Autumn. The apples are from a site called pngfind. The title font is Gill Sans Ultra Bold and the text under the photo is Freestyle Script.

 

Edit: I realized the sun was from the wrong side on the photo so I mirrored it horizontally.

Lynda: Thanks! I had the benefit of a beautiful big cat to work with. They are amazing. My granddaughter has the privilege of working with them at her zoo, where I saw their Caracal KITTENS! :-)

Anne Lamp: You know I agree with you, and I'd like to point out what I like best about your layout is the napkin holding some of the cutlery. Very well done!

I always love playing with layers for this lunch table and sandwich. Don't mind me, newcomers, I've been doing this for years! That's a hot chocolate with marshmallows and I like to keep my pickles separate from my sandwich.

I'll be using some photos of my grandchildren and great-grands. This is my grandson Will and his daughter, Magic. They were out picking apples. They live in Northern California whereas I'm in New York. Magic is one of my 3 great-grands. She turned two in June.

Trying out Carole's new tatted frame. I had trouble trying to color the tatting part until I selected it with the magic wand. Not sure if there's a better way. Part of my Angry Birds collection.

Today, Oct 8, is World Octopus Day and this photo seemed to personify the October Color Palette. I made a header for my Facebook page using Inner Bevel on the Britannic Bold font.

A = Amorphous - that see-through quality that ghosts have.

Here's one I did several years ago which features our area's most famous "ghost." It's the Headless Horseman who terrorized Ichabod Crane in the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. It also works for our Story Time Workshop. I'm posting from The Gallery.

 

Monique: They are gorgeous! I'll have to watch it now with closed captions so it can defeat the heavy accent. A question for you or maybe Carole: how do you achieve two numbers in the same box? I don't know if the Text Tool would do that ordinarily. Perhaps a separate layer? I don't know...

Anita: What a beautiful page! That photo is gorgeous, and the background really sets it off.

 

Susan & Anita: I think you've both mentioned problems with solid lines turning into dashed lines. I'm assuming you're working on the Vector Layer. Have you tried creating a Raster of it and coloring that? I lock the transparency and paint it with the brush.

My letter T is for two grandsons, or rather, one grandson and one grandson-in-law. Interestingly, they both have the initials TJ for their first names. My grandson is Tyler-John and grandson-in-law is Tae-jun. Tyler is here on the East Coast and Tj, as Tae-jun is known, lives in California. I just discovered that Tj, who is 35, is a Senior Software Engineer, and works for Meta, the parent company of Facebook. Tyler is 27, a Federal Corrections Officer, and unmarried. Tj is married to my granddaughter, Anna, who is a Speech Language Pathologist.

Happy October! Here's my favorite of the big cats: The Caracal. (Love the ears!) Smaller than a leopard and slower than a cheetah, caracals can leap 10 feet in the air to capture birds on the wing.   It roams deserts from Africa to India & Pakistan. They don't make good pets. I posted a .jpg of this calendar page in our Facebook files.

 

 

 

Lynda: Very nice use of the available materials! I like the way you multiplied the rings and combined them with the 2 circles. That "splat" looks good just barely there.

Michele: Mysterious dashes. I don't show any at all, even in 600 px size. Did they come that way on your templates?
