  1. Ah, this worked out nicely for one of the new great grands this year. I didn't really do a layout for Jonah, Logan's little brother, born June 20th. He was GG #4 and we're also welcomed Raja as GG #5 when I did the Sketch Challenge. I found neat sequin photo corners from Elif Sahin at Pixelscrappers. The clips from my stash labeled LF-Choose-to-Shine were originally copper but I changed them. The Polaroid frames are all part of a vintage collage. The fonts are Bungee Inline, Cabin Sketch and Brush Script. The background paper is from a Marisa Lerin Kit called "Touch of Delight." The photos all came from the Paolucci family. Ilana is my youngest granddaughter, with my Laurey as her mother.
  2. Thank you, Mary. Now I get it! And you're right, the Hudson Valley is well known for its colorful fall views.
  3. Q = quiver (shiver with fear, not an arrow holder)
  4. Very nice, Mary! Your colors are gorgeous. The only thing that looks a little odd, to me, is the photo is tilted to the right and the flowers end up growing sideways a bit. I'm not sure if that's what you intended...
  5. N = Nightmare Before Christmas
  6. I wouldn't know as I totally avoid all horror movies. Just not for me. I do like silly stuff like Beetlejuice and Nightmare Before Christmas.
  7. We had one of those at our drive-in theater! He loved wandering through the parked movie-goers scaring the daylights out of them through their car windows! His name is Pennywise from the film "It" by Stephen King.
  8. I finally found the beautiful fall tree photo layout from Warwick that I did.
  9. Lately, I'm watching several older series that I missed the first time around: The Good Wife, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Good Omens & Billions. I try to pick out a film for my Saturday night viewing: this week it will be "Spotlight" with Bill Murray as a crusading newspaper editor. It won the Academy Award and I've seen it before but it's so good it'll hold up for a second viewing. I'm also a fan of Endeavor and (the original) Professor T.
  10. I feel lucky to live in the Mid-Hudson Valley, NY, where our autumn trees are a big draw for the tourist trade. The "leaf-peepers" travel long distances to view our spectacular fall color palette.
  11. GRANDDAUGHTER ANNA & HUSBAND, TJ, VISIT HIS FAMILY IN SOUTH KOREA - SEPT 2023 - Anna and Tj live in San Jose, California. She is the daughter of my daughter, Debbie, and aunt to baby Magic and Raja. Anna is a Speech Language Pathologist and Tj is a Senior Software Engineer for Meta. They've been married for 6 years and have 2 cats. All papers and embellishments are from Marisa Lerin "Korea" kit except for flag and map from Google search. Scraplift: Travel Challenge Day 8 by Mary Solaas (mostly for paper layer design). cass-date stamp 13-softlight layer effect +reverse shadow. Font = Agency. This is a departure for me. I usually prefer cleaner, less fussy pages, but this just worked this way, I guess. Maybe it's the Korean influence. ?
  12. Me, either, Jannette, though my Beck mother-in-law claimed she'd traced her lineage back to Mary Queen of Scots. Given her personality, I believed her! ?
  13. I find all your pages outstanding, Mary. The layouts are very effective. The offset papers and photos are very pleasing to look at. Driving around the Black Hills has always been on my bucket list and, thanks to you, here I can do it virtually.
  14. My TV list is rather short; I don't turn it on until after 5 pm and off by 10. I watch The Good Wife, Billions, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Fire Country, Broadchurch and I pick a movie for my Saturday night viewing. This week it'll be Fast X, the auto racing film with Vin Diesel. I'm looking forward to the original Moonlighting series with Candace Bergen and Bruce Willis which is being re-released on Hulu. I never saw the originals. Also, a new Frasier series with Kelsey Grammer. Both start Oct 10 here. There are two new series on Netflix I'll try: Reptile, a detective show and The Recruit, a spy comedy. That's it for me. Most of the time I'm here on my desktop computer, playing with PSP.
  15. I do, too, Chris. I subscribe to BritBox for that reason and have been a long-standing fan of Downton Abbey. I even used it as the theme of a workshop here with a calendar.
  16. I'm with you, Susan. Once I found out Pro Wrestling was scripted, all the "reality shows" lost their credibility with me. There are a few competition shows, like American Ninja Warrior, that appear to be real, and talent shows like Dancing with the Stars or The Voice. Aside from the game show, Jeopardy!, I watch TV for stories with drama, action or laughs. My favorite right now is the new Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. I literally have to keep lists of what to watch. Between network TV and streaming, the choices have been endless.
  17. OMG! My favorite "superhero" that I have followed in the comics since I was very young. I see him on the internet every day now; wouldn't miss it! The Ghost Who Walks...The Phantom
  18. I'm glad that both Canadian and American Thanksgiving are coming. I need that double dose of gratitude! ??
  19. I agree and in fact I applaud Sue with her clear-eyed assessment of the "neo-cons." ?
  20. That's what I love about Halloween. It's all about fun! ?
  21. F = FOOD with a Halloween theme
  22. Jannette, in the US the "hood" is the covering for the engine on an automobile. In the UK it's called the "bonnet." The phrase "played under the hood" would refer to the user working on the engine with a car, or in this case, creating their own customized filter in Filter Forge.
  23. A = Apples - bobbing for Apples is a fun game for a Halloween party
