  1. Thank you Sue for your settings.  Mine are similar.  I shoot in the middle aperatures (5.6, 8, 11, 16) as they are the sharpest on DSLR's, and pretty much always on spot metering.  I do know the moon is lit by the sun so the sunny 16 rule applies, althought I deviate with the ISO to get a faster shutter speed as I am using a zoom lens that isnt image stabilized (and I can be lazy and not take out the tripod, especially if it's cold).  Luckily I am shooting with a crop frame sensor so my 300 mm is more like 480 mm.  I remember way back when shooting the night sky, fireworks etc (using "bulb" setting), the saying was "F8 and be there".  I am always interested in the settings people use, thank you for sharing.  I have never heard of Polar Ponzo.  Have you ever done any long exposures of stars.  I havent yet, I'm too close to the city I think.  I got a new camera that I havent even taken out of the box yet.  the body is image stabilized so I'm interested to see the difference in the moon shots with my really old zoom lens.
  2. Beautiful Moon shots Sue!  I was driving to work at 4:30pm and had a view the whole ride.  It was so huge and incredible.  Wished I could have been off that day.  I wanted to take shots when I got home but worked till after midnight and by then it was so high in the sky it was a pin head size.  I did get some this morning, just so I could have it.  What an amazing site it was.  So glad to see you nailed the shots.  Looking forward to that layout.
  3. I have that too Rene.  There is about 15 main folders in the Digital Scrapbook, the ones I showed is one of them, actually it's the 2nd one.  I numbered them because I didnt want them alphabetical, I put the ones I use the most at the beginning.  I keep the ZIP files too, Resource type ones are in a different folder than than  Scrap Supplies and my fonts have a zip folder as well. I made the mistake of renaming my extracted fonts folder and my front program couldnt find it. thankfully I figured it out pretty quickly.  I normally love to organize...physical stuff that is.  I find it relaxing.  Digital stuff is not as easy for me.  I think years of experience will help in making it organized for the best work flow and ease of finding what I'm looking for.  I spend too much time looking for something I need, that's how I know it's not quite working for me.  I love to hear/see how people organize their digital stuff.
  4. Marie-Claire, this too, is an ongoing always evolving issue for me.  I have a different way currently, but want to incorporate Rene's idea for the finished work, with subfolders so I can find (for example) all the Bootcamp layouts or whatever else.  I like the idea of having the finished work all in one spot.  I like also having the workshop/bootcamp/etc files (that we download for the course) in another location.

Here is my current system.  Under "Digital Scrapbooking" I have various folders, "02 Workshops, Finished etc" is where the finished layouts AND the course file.  second shot shows the subfolders in the Workshop folder.  This is great if I want to do the workshop again, I have all the downloads right there.  BUT, I also have my finished work there.  And it is not working for me.  I have to keep going through too much stuff.

That's where Rene's system looks really enticing, to have just the finished/jpgs/600's etc in a Main folder under (for me) the Digital Scrapbooking.  I would be so much easier to find just the finished work without all the other files to go through.  It's a goal for 2023.  Also, to keep track of which fonts I used so I dont accidently delete a font and not be able to go back to that layout to tweak it.

It's a lot of work but I it's going to make it easier once I do it.  Also, I know that you have to try a new system and live with for some time and decide if it's working for you or not.  What parts are working, what isnt.  It's always changing as I learn how I work.  I'm tired of feeling unorganized, because I cant find something.

  5. My husband wanted a Roomba to reprogram to play with the cats.  I told him no way we are spending that much money.  I just bought a twin bed and platform to make a day bed in the office.....for the cats to sleep on when I am working in there.??

I would love a robot to clean the house, do the laundry, dishes etc.  ooh, and  Chef robot too.

  6. "Kitty", looks like a happy employee, and she even smiled at the end.  She stopped when someone walked in front of her.  She's got good manners, seems to know what she's doing and probably never complains.  I'd hire her to go take my place at work so I can spend more time with PSP.  hahaha.
  7. hahaha, love it Ann.  I was one of the ones down to the last few rolls.  Good thing you've had a guard on duty.  I have to hide the TP from my cats, they rip apart the bag and  the TP. Strangely, they dont touch the rolls on the dispensers.
  8. Hahahaha, love the song this year.  I feel the pain of missing your favorite cereal.  Mine was Bran Flakes or Corn Flakes.  When I finally scored a box, it was the teeniest, tiniest box for the price of the Jumbo box.  Dont get me started about toilet paper.  It was so expensive I was thinking I should use it as wall paper!

  9. Hahaha, Suzy, on your last paragraph.

Not so funny, the flu.  It's scary to be that dehydrated. Glad you are on the mend and eating again.  Agreed, it is always nice to not have to go to the store.  If I get a day off without having to go out to run errands, it's a win for me.

  10. Yikes! Rene, that is frustrating.  I hope I dont have that.  When does it come to the time a company says, we dont need to make exciting new changes. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. Let's just make what we have finction better and faster using less resources.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE PSP, but I often wish for the days when new versions were several years apart.  Now adays, to compete, it's like they have to have more WOW factor each year.  It must be daunting for the programmers to have to come up with new stuff.

  11. Sorry Suzy, yes, the problems with the script are supposed to be fixed now.

Julie, I sure understand the month fees.  Every thing seems to have subscriptions these days.  I like to pay once for the year.  As I am losing yet more hours at work I will need to review what to keep and what I can get rid of.  The campus is the most important one and i want to protect this one.  I did get the Ultimate package for 29.99 CAD (the same one Suzy describes above with the coupon and the extras.  The pop up came on windows, not from an email from Corel.  It was 65% off instead of the 60%.  But when I went to pay for it (expecting 34.99 + GST) the total was $31.49 and I realized I got another $5 off.

  12. IT'S FIXED!

I got an email from Carole.  She said the one on the server (at corel) is the fixed one.  It will be in the newsletter tomorrow.  I'm so glad I bought it.  It will be awhile though before I can load it.  I'm busy for the next few weeks.  Then it will be dead at work so I'll have lots of time (and we lost two jobs that I look after so I'm losing 4-6 hours a week - losing the pay sucks, but the flip side is more time at home for PSP).

  13. Woo Hoo!  Just finished my first round of purchases from the Black Friday Sale.  Thanks Sue, for the advice about the punches, I loaded up on the ones I didnt have.  And got some Lace Edges, Crochet edges and the Mitered Corner frame (and a whole lot of others).  I love how you all use those edges as frames.  There is so much to choose from.  I'll take another dive in today.

One thing I really like is when I went to purchase one thing it told me I already had it.  So I cant order twice.  That's a nice fail safe.
