  1. This is such a great idea since the structure is already there!
  2. It is a new month and new projects. Show off what you are working on in July be it a scrapbook page, a collage, a tutorial, or anything else you want. We are curious and want to see, learn, and get inspired. These threads are quickly becoming a fantastic source of inspiration, support, and friendship. Keep them coming! Remember to size down your image to about 600x600 pixels and save it in .jpg format before posting it. Here are a few guidelines for everyone: when you post a project, give as much information on your sources or techniques used. It will help others who are curious and would like to do the same. if someone uses something that you like on their page, ask where they got it. Sometimes, you can go get it too and it will be better quality than trying to extract it (as it would have been resized to post in the forum anyways). if it is something that they did from scratch, ask how they did it. It would be so helpful to everyone! if you like a photo and would like to “play with it”, ALWAYS ask permission. Sometimes, there are some limitations and the person is not allowed to let others use it. Don’t get them in trouble. Usually, people are happy to say yes (if they can) when you ask politely. And if you get permission, you might get a better-quality image than the resized image anyways.
  3. The theme for July is GRILLING, which is often associated with fun outdoor gatherings. And gatherings should bring lots of photos and stories. How about sharing those? It will be like we are there with you! And if you have a specific recipe you are famous for, why not share it too? Let's go! Post your project in the gallery.
  4. In July, our monthly theme is GRILLING. Whether you are celebrating a holiday (July 1st, 4th of July, or July 14th) with a family gathering around the barbecue, or love camping and outdoor cooking, let's find words that are associated with grilling. It could be a utensil, a brand of barbecue, a specific food or even a recipe name. Everything, based on the alphabet, as usual! Let's go!
  5. @fiona cookThat issue with the text "disappearing" is frustrating but it is not really a bug or anything like that. It is a matter of understanding that the resize does NOT apply to the area where you wrapped your text. It is documented in this article. That page you made for the run would definitely make a nice thank-you note. May I suggest that you put the title on a piece of paper so it would look like it is part of the display. @Anja PelzerGreat tribute to your mom with those black and white photos. @Sharla That is a wonderful rainbow pic. No wonder you wanted to showcase it! @MoniqueN.Fun page you found. Yes, sometimes, it is hard to find the photo to fit the page. Often, you will have the picture and then search for the page to use. Either way, it is a browsing challenge. @Donna SilliaFun photos to showcase! They make me smile. @Ann Seeber I am glad I didn't make any typo on that datestamp! ? You know that you could include a QRCode to your page and link to the video in question. @Anita WyattThat is another nice page. Not knowing what the initial page looked like, I can't tell what elements were added, so it matches very well. @Susan EwartYou have such a wide variety of sunsets. Hard to believe they are from the same point. @kasanyWhere did you take those trip photos? The scenery looks familiar. @Mary SolaasI saw you used one of those layouts in the Random Challenge. That is a good idea! @Gerry LandrethMaybe i'll need to have a Song Challenge with the word STAR for you! ? @Jannette Nieuwboer You have found a nice new page!
  6. Do you know about "little libraries"? Do you have some in your neighbourhood? Did you ever use one? Let's chat.
  7. Love that!!!!
  8. @Jannette Nieuwboer Simple and effective with those yellow flowers. Your tweaking of the insects page is lovely and delicate. @Anita WyattThose cats are so cute. The font is interesting too! @kasanyHave you made sure that the bears photos were sized proportionally? I have a feeling they are a little squished. @Mary Solaas It is certainly pink!! @Susan EwartIt is true that Saya LOOKS grumpy!! Good thing you specify that she is not! You didn't have to edit the pickles to give them faces! It does happen that some punctuation is not clear in some fonts. Sometimes, some actual letters look odd! Those little libraries are getting popular here too. In town here, there are at least 3 that I know of and it is not a big town! I have a story to tell about those. I'll have to tell it some other time! @Sharla Those little hearts are cute. They were not picture tubes that you scattered? @Donna SilliaWhen we have a lot to share, we want to use all the available space! @Corrie Kinkel You used a smart way to fill smaller spaces. Sometimes, we can use small areas for "close-ups" or details of a larger photo. If you don't have small photos, in a way, it is a good problem to have. Better than the reverse when one has ONLY small pics! I am sure that card will bring a smile to your friend as you made it especially with her preferences in mind! @Anja Pelzer Lovely to see those tubes used! @Gerry LandrethHow do you communicate with Lynda now? @Julie MagerkaBeautiful colors in your garden. Is that Peggy's Cove in the picture? @MoniqueN. You are using mats very creatively to add delicate elements like dates. For the card, you might not even need a cutting machine since everything is easy to cut with scissors. When I was doing decoupage, I remember images from Anton Pieck. I'll have to look to see if I still have any work from those pics. @fiona cook Nice touch for the neighbours! @Anne LampNice spring flowers! And don't worry about "being late". Life comes first! And as a DIAMOND member, you will keep access to the lessons anyways so you are not limited in time. @liberaThe change in color matches the photos well. If you have not finished this workshop, don't worry, the tutorials will be left available for another week. Of course, DIAMOND members keep full access during their membership.
  9. Here is a challenge to do something that might not be repeated in other months. Just an idea that popped like that (and you can also send me suggestions for occasional random challenges too). This time, let's talk. Use at least half of the space of the page to share a story. It can be a funny one, a serious one, or even an imaginary one. Here is one example of a large area for a story. For ideas for templates to add lots of text, check this article. Post your project in the gallery.
  10. @Anita Wyatt It is a smart move to use a pattern to fill the titles. @libera The Brush Script is not a script for a font. That is just its name. I have had it for so long that I thought it was a default font. How tall was Sunny? Yes, to change the frame's color, it is a matter of selecting it and that can be a challenge in a ready-made page. @kasany Be careful in resizing photos. I think one of the cats might have a headache from being squished! @Sharla That is certainly one way to make a quick page even quicker!!! @Jannette Nieuwboer When you selected, maybe you needed to check the Contiguous checkbox. That would help you select individual sections one by one. You are making great progress, and it looks like you are more comfortable as you now create your own textures. @fiona cook Yes, tweaking can take so much more time than it should. But if you enjoy it, go for it! It is really nice to see the title on and off the photo. Great effect. @Donna Sillia Just to be consistent with the other photos, have you thought of adding a white border to that extra photo you included? Isn't it nice to have your own photographer now?? ? @Susan Ewart Yes, that is the idea behind quick pages!! @Mary Solaas The blue from the page matches the photos so well! Are you scanning all the cards you get? I plan on doing that with those I have kept so I can use them digitally! Beware of geese: they can be very protective and have attacked walkers and bikers during the nesting season! That is a fun photo on the beach! @Corrie Kinkel That color change from green to pink really shows up those plants' colors. @Gerry Landreth Sorry for your loss. And yes, quick pages are meant to be quick (although some will argue they keep taking a long time anyways!) Keep them coming. You still have a couple of days of new tutorials and supplies to come!
  11. So, today, we visited my daughter and I gave her the green room I had been working on. In the travel (3.5 hours), obviously, everything tumbled down as nothing was actually glued, so it took a while to put everything back together. I told her to stay out of the kitchen while I reset everything, and here is her reaction when she discovered it.
  12. @Susan Ewart I had noticed such a mismatch when testing 2023. Maybe the same thing happened in 2022 but it was just on different fonts. That bathroom layout is so funny! Well done! Maybe you should post those RCMP layouts on FB and tag them! You might share some smiles for them too. @Jannette NieuwboerYou are adding a lot of work on that QUICK page! Lovely! The way you treated the Jewel from the sea layout is very creative and inspiring! @Ann Seeber I knew we would have a lovely layout about the baby!!! Good choice to show three photos! @MoniqueN. Small additions make the project totally unique! Beautiful bride photos for that layout! With the Chopin font, check to make sure you don't have a stroke, because it is so fine. You managed very well with the page you didn't like! @Julie Magerka Yes, it is QUICK but that excludes selecting the photos! ? @Mary Solaas Beautiful flowers! Did you align the letters one by one to fit between the lines? @fiona cookIt is so cool to see that glider out of bound! @Corrie KinkelGreat way to showcase that Grand Canyon! And it is a good thing you didn't go closer to the edge! @libera The font for the Congratulations is a simple Brush Script. Do you plan to add photos to the quick-pages? @Anja Pelzer It is interesting how the whole layout turned wintery with the photos and added snowflakes! @Suzy Being creative sometimes means being inspired by others! Creativity does not always come from nowhere! Keep them coming. Keep inspiring each other. There are still several days and projects to come!
  13. Something to consider is whether it would fare well outdoors, like under the rain. But definitely something to look into! And I should be going to Michael's this weekend for the birthday party. I can look to see if they have something.
  14. Actually, I was thinking of possibly having posts and maybe wires or rope between them as they would not need to be perfectly even. I like the chain idea but will have to test how to fasten them (remember we have cold and snow here in the winter). But I sure will do some testing. I'll see what I can find as far as chains. Thanks for the idea!
  15. @Susan Ewart Yes, I will have to find a picture of the cliffs and rocks from around here! About the misalignment issue, are you using PSP2023? I have noticed something like that affecting some fonts, but not all. @libera the Extra supplies are for the DIAMOND members. That is why you didn't see them. @kasany We sure can recognize your work now that we have seen your fractals. They are always mesmerizing! @Ann Seeber For those who got that unexpected collage template, it was meant for later in the workshop so you might want to keep it anyways ? @fiona cook Interesting how you get two different results from the same starting quick pages! The charms are a good idea. I would have put them on top of the photo mat though so we could see them better. Of course, when you have more than one photo, it will likely take more than 5 minutes! But it is still much faster than a project from scratch. @Jannette Nieuwboer The 5 minutes is AFTER you have decided what photos to use and BEFORE you tweak them! ? @Julie Magerka Those are great photos for the Solstice! @Sharla Great choice of photos for the page. And the title is a nice touch! @Anne Lamp Now that you are in the hammock, it is time to rest! @MoniqueN. Adding the rectangle in the same color as the background is a great way to add a title without it looking like there is a mat! @Donna Sillia Amazing to see all the techniques that were taught in previous classes or workshops used when we don't expect it to create something unique! @Anja PelzerThe layering of the square is such a creative way to use an otherwise flat page! @Corrie KinkelIt is nice to see you have more opportunities to showcase those photos you still have! @Anita Wyatt I guess 15 minutes is not too bad for a layout! Keep them coming!!
  16. That is strange. I checked and the file should be a tiny size. Try this.
  17. I have replaced the zip file with the correct one. I guess you can still use that for a collage! ?
  18. I have no idea what is happening to my posts. This is the THIRD time I am posting the same thing! Sorry for the delay. I hope it will work this time! @fiona cook It is great to see such a simple object being showcased with an interesting story too. Those bugs look like they really belong with that photo! @Julie Magerka Even if you don't like flip-flops, you found a great photo to use! That frame is perfect for the photo and quite timely too! @Jannette Nieuwboer You did a great job with the photos; I would not have known that you had edited the backgrounds. @Anja Pelzer That photo is perfectly matching the colors of the quick page! Adding a brush stroke under the text is a great idea. @Sharla Did you add all the letters individually or did you adjust the kerning to match the individual banners? Great way to add a title. That is a fun and creative way to tweak that baker's layout! @Grace Westerson Welcome to the workshop. I am glad this first lesson was easy enough to not scare you from the start! @Donna Sillia What an interesting way to work around a vertical photo! Very creative! @Gerry Landreth Oh, that beach photo is a gem!!!! @Mary Solaas That photo of the turtles made me chuckle! You better use that FB header soon... it is a lovely photo to show! @Anita Wyatt I could also make a whole album of places my cats loved to hide: bags and boxes are their favorites! Good adjustment of the photo without distortion! @Susan Ewart That photo is a perfect match as far as colors are concerned! That photo of the beach looks so similar to what we have around here! @kasany Simple photos are often the cutest to look at. @Jannette Nieuwboer It is a good thing you are not distorting the photo! It is common for users to try to "fit the photo" and in the process, will squish them! Good work. @Ann Seeber Those flip-flops were adorable!!! And congratulations to great-grandma!!! That fish photo is quite impressive, and so is the story!! @MoniqueN. Are those colorful things moving at all (like wind chimes) or stationary? @Corrie Kinkel You will have to record the unboxing of your album when you get it. We all want to watch! @Anne Lamp Fun beach photo. Did you squish it a little to fit in the area?
  19. Do you have ideas for the gnome house? For the doors or the railings? Or something else you want to chitchat about? Let's chat.
  20. You should not click on New topic, but instead, go to this thread, and just scroll to the bottom to add your post.
  21. @Grace Westerson Would you mind posting this inside the Quick Page thread? That way, more people would see it.
  22. Yes, there are two classes: https://scrapbookcampus.com/master-classes/using-filter-forge-with-psp/ https://scrapbookcampus.com/master-classes/using-filter-forge-with-psp-2/ I don't think there is a free version unless you got a deal from GOTD.
  23. I have considered doing a class on making fonts, but it would involve a paid program so I am not sure how well-received that would be (I got some complaints when I did classes on Filter Forge). On the other hand, making an alpha is so much simpler and very accessible to all. Maybe that can be another class!?
  24. If any of them would be interested in learning PSP to make cool things like you did, invite them for the Quick-Page Workshop!
  25. What kind of "group" is it? Would they be interested in PSP? If so, invite them over here!
