Cassel Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 https://scrapbookcampus.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/ScrapBootcamp-400.jpg First of all, come and say HI once you register for this bootcamp. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up. Everyone started as a beginner, so don't ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at the time, one concept at the time and you will create one project at the time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different. Once the Bootcamp is started, on January 13th, you can post your pages in here. Remember to resize your image to about 600 pixels before uploading it so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Now, let's get ready ! If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want. Although this bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won't exclude anyone for "excess experience". 1
Cristina Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Hi, everyone. I am looking forward to the Scrap Bootcamp, and I am sure I will learn a lot. 1
Guest Guest Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Hello everyone, I'm Lady Anne and I live in England. I'm not new to PSP but it has been years since I did any digital scrapbooking. I have been using PSP to make up items for printing out to use in mini albums and journaling. I am using PSP 2019 which I'm still trying to get use too :) I am looking forward to getting to know everyone, so I hope everyone come in here and says hello.
DeLoris Musick Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Hi all! I'm DeLoris from Sidney, Ohio. I have been PSPing since 2000. I use PSP 2019. I love making pages for my yearly photo books and then I turn them into slide shows as well. I'm looking forward to the classes and seeing everyones results and maybe learning a thing or two along the way. We tend to stick with things that are familiar to us and I am bad about that. So, anytime I get the chance to learn something new, I'm "in"! Hugs, DeLoris 1
Bonnie Ballentine Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Hi, Everyone! I am Bonnie and I have been using PSP since version 8 which is still my favorite. I have 2019 now and plan to use it for the bootcamp. Since Carole will be using 2019 this will also help me learn my new software. Looking forward to seeing your work and learning lots! 1
Guest Guest Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Good morning to DeLoris - Cristina - Bonnie, I am looking forward to getting to know you all. DeLoris, I have seen some of your work on FB and you are doing well. I agree with you though we can get a little stuck in a rut and do the things which we know so yes, it is good to try to do things a little differently and trying something new is always good. Enjoy your Saturday everyone
Annie Tobin Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Hello Scrapbook Campus Friends. I definitely want to go with this one as a recap helps to jog those memory cells. I have been a Paint Shop Pro user since the early 2000's and now have 2019. Since joining Scrapbook Campus it has taught me things that I never came near in all those years of playing around. I will be away from tomorrow until the 20th January so will have some wonderful catch-up work to do when I return. Hugs all round! 1
Marlene Lingham Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Hi everyone. I have been using Paint Shop Pro for many years, mainly for posters, card making and collages, but have been doing digital scrapbooking in response to Cassel's challenges. I decided to enrol in the bootcamp even though I have been using PSP a while, as I am sure that I will learn something new. It is nice that everything is virtual, I like to attend Cassel's Master Classes but living in Australia the time difference doesn't always make this possible. I am sure we will all have fun. 1
AngelStarr57 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Hi Everyone! My name is Teresa Brown and from reading the posts so far it looks like I'm the noob here lol. I've not really used PSP before, other than putting text on a picture and I have PSP 9 so I'm using a lot older version than everyone else. I've never done digital scrap booking at all so EVERYTHING is super new to me, so be gentle hehe :) 1
Cassel Posted January 10, 2019 Author Posted January 10, 2019 Teresa, I think the reason you "feel" the most newbie is because you are the bravest newbie. I know that many others have NEVER done scrapbooking either. They are just not posting. They might feel too shy. Maybe you, posting this will encourage them to do the same. At this time, we have over 100 registrants, and see how many posted! But there is something in store to get everyone to participate. You'll see!!! ;) 1
Guest Guest Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Teresa, I'm fairly new as I can't remember much of what I did years ago so we can stick together and learn and help each other alright? Where do you live? I'm in England. It is going to be so much fun so just relax and enjoy it all. Love and laughter ~ Lady Anne xxx
DeLoris Musick Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Hi Teresa! You would probably be surprised at how many people still use PSP 9. No matter the version, you should have fun and learn lots! Hugs, DeLoris 1
Grace Westerson Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Hi Everyone While I am not new at paint shop pro will admit that have collected a fair amount of scrapbooking items but problem is I see many that make awesome pages but I have a problem putting one together that is not messy looking and definitely not worth sharing. Look forward to the classes and learning. Smiles Grace 1
DeLoris Musick Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Grace, I think we all our worst critics! Everyone sees things differently. Hopefully the class will help you become more comfortable with what you create. I'm preaching to the choir here, I find fault with everything I do! Want an example of what we see? Post a pic in the facebook group and let members make a layout with it. You will be pleasantly surprised at the results! Also, you can always post a layout and ask for advice. Everyone is here to help, not criticize. Have a great weekend! Hugs, DeLoris 1
Cristina Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Hi Grace, We are all here to learn in a way or another and Carole is very good at teaching... I agree with DeLoris, everyone is here to help not, to criticize. :) 1
Guest Guest Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Grace, I can understand just what you mean, I too find that I'm the same, I find it difficult to make a page look something good. So I'm with you with this, I know what I want but it doesn't turn out quite like I had envisioned lol. I can wait to see how we can put a page together and make it look good. Can't wait to get started Lady Anne xxx
Alicia Garbelman Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I'm ready to learn! I'm Alicia, and I have been scrapbooking the traditional way for many years. Now I'm retired and doing a lot of travelling, so digital scrapbooking seems the way to go. I don't think I'll ever fully give up on traditional formats (I have too many supplies!), but I'm ready to learn some new possibilities. I have used Paintshop Pro since the JASC days, but I never went beyond adjusting and cataloging my digital photos. I enjoyed completing the Up-To-Date calendar challenge a few weeks ago, so here I am, back for more. 1
AngelStarr57 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Thanks Carole, and everyone else for the encouragement! Lady Anne, I'm in the USA, Edmond, OK. I'm really nervous about starting tomorrow, but excited too. I'll probably need a lot of help :( but I really want to learn and get the basics down so I can do all the fun stuff I see everyone else do :) Have a great day and I'll see everyone tomorrow :) Hugs Teresa 1
Casey Shine Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 My name is Casey. I have done paper scrapbooking for many years. I am not sure that I want to switch to digital, so this seemed like a good way to try it out. I use PSP to edit my photos before I print them out for paper scrapbooking. So know very simple things like color correction and cropping and cleaning up images. Nothing about layers! I will probably need lots of time and patience to figure it out. 1
Guest Guest Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Hello Teresa, I think you will be fine as Carol is a fabulous teacher, I have enjoyed her videos here on this site and she explains things so well. I have done a few of the things using the lessons on here. I do have a major problem with remembering what to do, so I have to keep watching it over and over again. Then I manage to do my own and am so excited that I have managed it but next time I go to do it I have forgotten again!!! Very frustrating so yep, I too will need loads of help, so let us all stick together and help each other and I'm sure we will all do well. Lovely to be able to meet all of you lovely people and I'm looking forward to us working and sharing together. Here's to tomorrow. Love ~ lady Anne xxxx
darlenek Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Hi all!!!! I am Darlene Crew from East Wenatchee Wa. I Have Paint Shop Pro X6. I have never mastered this or learned anything about it on my on. I used Paint shop Pro 9 for a very long time. But when I purchased a newer computer I purchased the Paint shop Pro that was current at that time. And could not figure it out. So I have not been digitally scrapbooking at all. I am looking forward to learning this Paint Shop Pro X6, as I have a lot of digital kits that are not being used. Wish you all the best, I am very excited to be part of all of this. I am very grateful to be given this opportunity!! Darlene 1
Sue Ogden Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Hi everyone! And a special hi to Lady Anne because I lived in Deddington, Oxfordshire for 3 wonderful years back in the mid-70s while my husband was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford. England is a beautiful country, I just wish I had old photos to scrap! Now I'm retired and living in northern Oklahoma. I have used PSP for several years but am new to digi-scrapping. I also use PSE18 but do ALL of my photo editing in PSP. Currently running X8 but thinking seriously about upgrading right away. I have a good excuse as Monday is my birthday and I think the latest version would make a great birthday present. I'm looking forward to this scrap boot camp and hope to learn a lot. DeLOris you've made such wonderful comments above, so encouraging. Thank you. After re-reading those above, I think I will order the newest version tomorrow download it in time for class. Someone had a great point about learning 2019 during the scrap boot camp. AngelStarr57 con't be nervous, scrapbookers are some of the best people around. I've been scrapping traditionally since 2001 and it's a lot of fun. Doubt that I ever go completely digital, like the feel of paper too much. And BTW I'm up here in Enid, just a giant stone's throw from you! Will see everyone soon!Below is one of my earliest digi creations before I knew anything at all about what I was doing. Just shows that even when you don't know, you can make something pretty! 1
DeLoris Musick Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Sue, you must miss England like I do Virginia. I have been here since 1968 and it has never felt like home. If you like wheat, soybeans and corn, you would like West Central Ohio. I hope you enjoy the classes and your layout (page) is wonderful! Happy Birthday & enjoy PSP 2019! Hugs, DeLoris 1
DeLoris Musick Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Welcome Darlene! I wish you well in learning PSP X6. It is a far cry from PSP 9, but you just need to learn what they renamed some of the things and where they put them. Personally, I think Corel is bad for that. But, I kept pressing on and I always got the newest version. Now that I'm 68 and my family is balking at me taking their pictures anymore, I will have to rethink getting the next version. Big Hugs, DeLoris 1
nadine Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 HI !! I'm Nadine aka biche57. I'm french and have a lot of difficulty standing all the subtleties (especially everyday language), but I hang on. Probably why I never post on the forum or the FB (sorry) heuuu and a shyness very pronounced. I use mainly paintshop pro 9 but I start with paintshop 7&8 on a learning forum in 2007. The problem is that nobody dares to really say what's really wrong (for fear of discouraging or hurting the person), which could improve a creation, whatever it is. But ... if nobody say "something is wrong" "dispositon, shadows, choice of colors ... and especially why", we don't improve ;( Despite all these years, I always learn a little thing here and there ..... and also things I had never seen or dared to try (thanks Carol). here's some scrap I made : the first in 2007 the others in 2017 1
