Cassel Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Show off what you are working on in February, be it a scrapbook page, a tutorial, or anything else you want We are curious and want to see, and get inspire 1
AprilDawn Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 inspiration for these 2 card fronts for a little girl birthday greeting came from a free tutorial by Tish at pspmadeez called Good Morning Music and the music note tube was provided in a zip file. I didn't have some of the filters she used in the tutorial so I created mine a bit different. I used free poser images from pannsplace and I created a spiky halo effect from them for the background on both cards. also added a psp rose tube to put in the hand of the fairy girl poser. best wishes everyone, Dawn. 1
AprilDawn Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Thank you very much Cristina ..... have been working on some cards over the last few days so maybe I will post them when I have finished..... Dawn. 1
AprilDawn Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Thank you Michele best wishes to you, Dawn. 1
Cristina Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 This is the layout I made to practice the 3 tutorials from the LAB 8 Module 02 (Arrow Pattern, Shaped Text, and Word Frame). I used elements from Kristin Aagard "Great Outdoors" kit. In order for me to have different patterns for each letter of the word (place) Farchant, I used a technique that I've learned with one of Cassel's webinars. 1
AprilDawn Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Hi Cristina! your page layout looks great. I love how you did the tutorials from the lab module. the word frame and the Farchant word look terrific and catches the eye..... I have yet to try those 2 tutorials..... best wishes, Dawn. 1
Cristina Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Hi Dawn! :) Thank you so much for your kind comment on my layout! <3 1
AprilDawn Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 another card that I have finished.......I have used Cassel's Twine Wood frame freebie and Edge Font 2 Matt freebie. the seed bead hearts made with Cassel's seed bead tube with the help of the vector tube script. .. ribbon made with one of Cassel's scripts. the coloured digital owl image is a freebie from Beccys Place here in Australia. Dawn. 1
Michele Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 I finally used Cassel's mask that she gave us a while ago to make a birthday card today. It gives such a pretty effect. I put a white layer underneath the mask group. Then I dragged the corners of the mask to show more of the flower pic. Also added some extra layers/effects for framing. Wish I could say I took the pic, but I didn't. Lily of the valley, so pretty yet so deadly. 1
Sheila Hogg Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Reading the latest tips tutorial on making your own preset shapes jogged my memory that I had a script by Suz Shook to make preset shapes from Dingbats. So I had two differing topics to have a play with. I made a preset shape by vector tracing around a fushia which turned out well. I then used the script with dingbats and that worked really well but restricted to the actual Dingbat image. Tonight I have been playing and I drew out a corner Dingbat Preset shape, used Simple plugin top left mirror and turned it into a black and white image, inverted it and then use Cassels Bronzit script. It resulted in a image that looked 3D. I used a photo of my Gt Gt Grandfather, used a sepia effect and Cassels Photo Mask script <span style="color: #333333; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;">on it</span>. I love the effect and think I am going to use this technique on other old photos I have. Anyway TFL. Sheila. x 1
Cristina Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Dawn, your card is lovely. Everything fits so well together... I love the owl image :) Michele, this is also a lovely birthday card. I love the colors, the photo and the mask you used. Sheila, it is amazing your project. It looks so real! It took many steps to make it but well worth the effort. Great work, ladies! 1
Sheila Hogg Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Thank you Christina i just love to play. Also, well done everybody, some great works of art being done. Sheila x 1
AprilDawn Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Cristina Thanks so much for your kind comments on my owl card ... I especially enjoy doing cards. Michele, your card is lovely I also love the colours you have used and yes Cassels freebie mask does give a pretty effect. Sheila, thanks for sharing how you did your project. I quite like what you have achieved and the effect is really interesting... I might give it a try.... and by the way some time ago you posted a project of glittered edge flowers that you made.... I forgot to say thanks for sharing at that time I think ...... so anyway I gave it a try and I am reasonably happy with my result..... so thank you very much for sharing the idea. ... I also like to try and make my own flower elements... I enjoyed making a flower using Cassels petal tube. Dawn. 1
Sheila Hogg Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Thank you Dawn and you are welcome. I haven't participated on here as much as I would like to as I have had cataract surgery and another to come next week. I have also made/put together a 100 wedding invites for my grandsons wedding this coming May. They took some time to do as I made all the paper roses to go on them, and the only thing I used PSP for was the inserts. Will post a piccie at some stage. Now I have bunting to make and favour boxes to finish. Although I love doing these things, all I can say is never again, too much for one person to do. Sheila x 1
Cristina Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Sheila, first of all, I want to wish you a speedy recovery from your cataract surgery. About the wedding invitations, I am sure they will be beautiful and your grandsons will be very happy to have something so special done by you. But I have to agree that is a lot for one person. :)
AprilDawn Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Sheila, I also hope your cataract surgery goes well for you. wow making that number of paper roses would have taken some time but I bet they look very pretty.... I will also be making some for a batch of cards I am giving as a gift.... I am sure your efforts will be appreciated as it is so nice to have something hand made for those special occasions. best wishes, Dawn. 1
Britt Marie Halonen Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 I should work on modul 2 in the Basic scrapbooking, then thought I should try to make my own rick rack bands. I made some and suddenly my work was far from the lesson. The rick rac with 3 colors are my own, made after Your tutorial. The boy, lavvo (sami tent), the reindeer antlets and the hats are from my own picures. The rest: <p style="margin: 0px 0px 13.33px;"><span lang="EN-US" style="margin: 0px;"><span style="color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Button , background papers and yelow rick rac from Amanda Heimann’s “Come out and play”</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0px 0px 13.33px;"><span lang="EN-US" style="margin: 0px;"><span style="color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Alfa: slwaldenKCSsilveralfa</span></span></p> All comments are welcome, is this too busy? 1
Cristina Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hi Britt, I like your page and don't think the layout is too busy. I like the colors, the theme and the ricrac you made. Every one of us has a different style and we can only be true to ourselves. Hopefully, we will see more of your layouts. :) 1
AprilDawn Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 hello Britt...... I like your page to and I also don't think it is too busy, I agree with Cristina's comment, as we do all have different styles of creativity and it is always nice to see everyone's layouts . I to have started out on a particular tutorial and ended up with something different but that is the joy of it all. tutorials are only a guide to start us on our way. best wishes, Dawn. 1
Michele Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I'm putting what I learned from the masks class to use. It took me a long time to figure out how to do it, and I'm not even sure that I did it correctly, but I think it was a success. Heather said she'd like to learn to surf someday so I thought I would give her a little push on her birthday. I like your layout, Britt. I agree with the others that everyone has their own style. If you're honestly looking for suggestions, maybe the hats on the top make it a little busy. I think without them "Sami Boy" would would be able to shine more and be the true star that he obviously is in your life. The ricrac you made is very cool; I'm going to have to learn to do that. 1
AprilDawn Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Hello Michele, your birthday card is really nice .. you have achieved a great effect.!.... best wishes, Dawn. 1
Michele Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Thanks so much, Dawn <3 The theme for my gaming group (Fabulous Divas) today was "Welcome March." Nothing stood out in my mind about March except early crocuses if the weather is unseasonably warm. I used the Change to Target Brush tool quite a bit to get my purples and yellows on most of the elements I used. 1
