Cassel Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Let's continue this challenge for another year. We might be the ones taking pictures but we are not the feature of our layouts, so let's change that since we ARE important and have lots to say. Every month or so, the layout will be about YOU, and a prompt will be given. If you have taken the Story Week Challenge, you will find some similarities but it won't be the same. For the March layout, tell us about places you visited. It might have been a vacation you took as a child. It could be visiting a relative in a new place or a different country. It could also be a landmark that you visited for the first time when you were younger. It could also be interesting if you share your feeling about that particular place, especially if you were younger. Was it wonderful? Was it scary? Did you misunderstand things about that place? There are many angles you can take to share stories. Remember that if you want to create pages for previous prompts, those threads will stay open. There is no right or wrong order to share about YOU.
Corrie Kinkel Posted March 10 Posted March 10 (edited) As a change from the Build-a-Kit Workshop I made this layout which I called Travel. At first I wasn't sure what I would make and started to think of all the places I have been to. That would make a long list even if I could find photos. I have been to many countries, living in Europe it is fairly easy to visit another country. I live not that far from the border with Belgium and it does feel very foreign either if you can go there on your bike for a cup of coffee on a lazy Sunday afternoon. But I will never forget the wonder of seeing the mountains in the Alps for the very first time and therefore I choose this as a subject for this AMM challenge. I used the template from this month Lab because it has a very wide and narrow photo spot where my panorama photo fitted beautifully, at least after rotating the template. I used Affinity to make my page, it takes more time because it doesn't comes automatically and I have to think on how to do some things. Edited March 10 by Corrie Kinkel 4

As you say, it's a bit easier when you already live so close to so many countries and different cultures. This works well to document your journeys. 2 1
Bonnie Ballentine Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I have played competitive basketball in 25 states and Washington, DC. The colored states are where I have played. "Nothing but Net" and "Shooting" are from Creative Fabrica. I do not know where I found the stars or the street map. I included Iowa because I will play there in July at the National Senior Games. I think I will do another layout for pickleball. I have played pickleball in 10 states and Washington, DC. 1 1

Besides that this is a great layout and a great achievement, it is also a geography rehearsal. I could name all but a few and have looked those up.🤔
Rene Marker Posted March 19 Posted March 19 In 2023 I documented the places that I traveled to in order to attend scrapbooking retreats. Most of them were from 2007 to 2012. I was also going to day crops about every 2 to 3 months with some friends that live an hour away for several years from probably 2011 to 2016. There have been occasional crops since then but nothing regular. I believe both the template and the kit are retired. Also, in 2023, I decided to document all the states that I have traveled to in my life. I'm using the same template, but for the kits I am using various from the same designer, Kelly Bangs Creative at Sweet Shoppe has a series of kits called "50 States". I am using a paper from each state kit on the template. Notice Nevada is casino related and Indiana is the checkered flag for a race (home of Indy 500). I have version 2 of this started as I added another state last year and planning to add 5 to 7 more states this year. 1 1
