Are you looking for ways to spark your creativity and still create something meaningful? This will be a new monthly challenge for you. Every month, you will be given instructions to use 1, 2 and 3 of something. Would that be more than you usually use? or less? Let's see. Create a layout using : 1 Photo 2 Clusters 3 Word Title As for the other elements, you can have any number of them. You can have buttons, papers, flowers, mats, etc. Are you up to it? To help you out, you can get inspiration from the Word Art classes from October and November for your title. Looking forward to seeing your projects. Cristina Posted November 16, 2017 Share Posted November 16, 2017 This is my contribution to this challenge. I didn't use the techniques from the Word Art classes... I tried but thought it would be better in another layout. These classes and techniques are great and I am going to practice them. Paper and elements are from Kristin Aagard's kit "Great Outdoors". This is how I made the frame: Selection >Flood Fill (white) > Effect > Texture Effect > Sculpture > Wood Texture. Then I applied Inner Bevel. Marlene Lingham Posted November 16, 2017 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Nice page Cristina, the background paper is really nice and suits the topic. I couldn't resist the challenge even though I am supposed to be packing the caravan for a trip away! We visited Glenrowan in February and took the photo of Ned Kelly, his famous last words were perfect for the challenge. The two clusters I made myself using items from online. The bullet holes were a tube I got from Beverley's Boutique, part of a 2001 tutorial. The font is Pomfrit Dandy NF for the title and Latha for the journalling (both freebies). I have been having problems getting the new Past to Fit and justification features for text in 2018 to work properly, then finally realised that you need to have a vector object with a fill, I kept trying with just an outline. Another little lesson learnt. Then of course I forgot that resizing won't resize the journalling and had to go back and copy the text layers and convert them to raster (I wanted to keep the text for future changes). AprilDawn Posted November 18, 2017 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I decided to make an album cover based on the requirements for this 1-2-3- challenge. Finishing this album will take a bit of time and when finished will be put on a DVD for viewing instead of printing. The photo on this page was a free one from the old design shop as I did not want to put a photo of other family members online without their permission.. However this will still give you the idea. This is also my first attempt at making clusters .. the 2 clusters are the cluster frame at the top and the lace circle cluster at the bottom....These are the scripts I used to help create my elements for the clusters....a purchased Rose Script from JoannesDigitalDesign and Cassel's Bow 3 script for the thin bow - Cassel's CrochetLace 1 script for the ribbons - Cassel's Lace Tube for the lace circles - Cassel's Chain Bead tube for the string of pearls, also the Paper Butterfly Script and I modified the finished butterfly to have the wings stand upright. the daisies are a PSP tube in the program. I also made a spiky Halo effect element for the bottom cluster. the heart shape is one of the presets which I have bevelled a little. I used an embossed overlay that I have in a collection I purchased to add to the background paper. The font is GarineldoNo-07. Dawn. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I do appreciate. <3 Marlene, I am a big fan of your journaling... as this is not my forte I really admire those who can add these important stories to the page. And you are great with this. Dawn, your album cover is beautiful and classy. I love the photo you picked to replace the family photo, the textured paper, and last but not least the clusters. Great layout. So many different techniques used to tell a story. I have the Garineldo font, which I use a lot, as for the clusters, they all look very professional. Cristina, your background page is gorgeous, as are the clusters, again very professional looking. Sue Thomas Posted November 20, 2017 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Yesterday was a miserable snowy day. A prefect day to watch the Word Art part 2 tutorial video. With Christmas looming around the corner I decided to make a Christmas tag. To create the background paper I used textures, blinds. The frame is a simple bevel. Using the magic wand I selected the frame (before doing the bevel), on a new layer 3D effects, cutout +3, on a new raster layer repeat with -3. As for the holy and berries, I scanned a bought card I was given last year, and extracted the holy and berries. To soften the edges I selected all and feathered. It is one of my favorites and one of the reasons that I bought the kit last year... Lucky me it was marked down. You made a really lovely tag using the technique taught by Cassel (Word Art 2). Every detail and technique is great. Nice work! I also want to practice this Word Art 2 technique but as I am traveling end this week I think I will not have the time. I had downloaded the free bandaged numbers and thought it went really well with this photo of me many years ago. I used images from Pixabay and extracted some of them which I used as my clusters. One side with the practical skills of training and the other with images to represent the academic stuff to study in order to demonstrate a knowledge base to pass all my exams. I used Cassels stitching font, my own backers which I textured and used Cassels scripts Edge magic and inked edges.
