September Tut/Tech Challenge - POPART

The Campus is the perfect place to learn more about photo editing, various techniques, or PSP in general.

 

This challenge will give you an opportunity to practice some of those techniques or use some tools.

 

This month's Tut/Tech Challenge is the Turn a photo into a Pop Art project. This is a technique that is illustrated in a video tutorial I did for Corel. You can watch it HERE. It is quite easy to do. The tougher part is probably to find the photo to use!

 

This is a great technique if your photo is not perfect, blurred, or has odd colors. You can use it as is, in a frame, or make several for a multiple frame, as a greeting card (it can be with objects, not only people), or any other project you can think of.

I have seen this technique in Filter Forge but had not tried to duplicate it myself until now. As you said Cassel if you can find the right photo it is an easy process and certainly makes up for not-quite-perfect photos.

Hello Marlene, you have done a real nice pop art photo. as always it is great to see the before and after photos.

 

Here is my contribution to this challenge. This is my first attempt at it and I ended up turning mine into a card front.  The original photo I got from Pixabay and the other 2 are what I created using the technique. on the card front I used a mask I created  a few months ago on the image and added a purchased  digital stamp greeting.

This is a very cool technique...I was playing around and came up with these 2 projects. Both photos are from Pixabay.

Dawn and Cristina lovely projects, isn't this a fun thing to do? I had to have a couple of tries to get the contrast right, kept losing detail, but the versatility of combining colours to match pages is very useful. Like the card Cristina, something that can be very personal and also very different.

Had a go at this and found it very therapeutic. I used a photo of my grand daughter when she was much younger. After I had done I wasn't sure of the colour combos but was able to play around with the colour changer until i found something pleasing to my eye, TFL.

Marlene, I also had many tries until I had photos that would work, and then trying different colors... But it was fun!

 

Sheila, your project came out so nice! The photo of this cute little lady is perfect for this technique, and the colors match very well.

Thank you Dawn. I think everyone has done sterling work and some great effects with this technique. Gives us all another string to our scrap booking bow, don't you think?
