Since this month, we have a SKY theme for the blog, and there are lots of ideas to inspire you, I am challenging you to create your own layout about the sky; the sky you see, the sky you go to, the sky that you dream to touch, etc.

Are you up to it?

hello everyone ! .....  here is my contribution to this Sky Challenge. I used Cassel's Cloud alpha Freebie for the happy birthday. the plane is a picture tube from within PSP.  the sunray and page curl were done in PSP effects as well. I had a cloud photo and blended it into the background paper. the sky and water scene photo was taken a few years ago at a beach near where I live. I decided to make a full page and then resize it down for  my card making as I needed to have some cards for the male members of our extended family.

best wishes to all,

Dawn.

Dawn, all these details: sunray, page curl, cloud alpha etc came out so good together! As usual, I love the texture of your papers, a subtle detail that makes them stands out. Really nice page!

Cristina and Sheila...thank you both for the kind comments on my page.

Cristina  I love having a go at making my own papers and masks.... there is still many effects in PSP that I haven't tried yet. The joy for me is in the experimenting.

best wishes to you both,

Dawn.

This is the page I made for the Sky Challenge. I added a sandstone texture to the solid color background paper. I created some ribbons with cass-Ribbon Factory Script and added cass-sprinkles-Rainbow element freebie. For the photos, I used a cutout effect based on the button tutorial. The title was done with cass-Cloud Alpha.

Hello Cristina....  great idea to have used the thought bubble with sky word for the cat photo ..  for me, it really sets the story of your page ...  also the photo buttons are a terrific idea.  A Very creative and colourful page .... I really love it.

Once again two lovely pages, your colours Dawn are beautiful and I love your idea Cristina. This is my offering - as I put in the journal we live opposite Mount Schank and spend a lot of our time in the kitchen looking out at the crater. The sun & moon start at the left hand side and work their way across to the right as summer comes, then back again. For a few days the moon actually rises in the middle - looks like it is actually coming out from the crater. The background for my page is a photo I took of just the sky which I have blurred a bit. The photo borders I made with a free plugin called BorderMania. I wanted to keep the page simple so didn't add any embellishments other than the cloud from a set called Nature Adventure.

Hello Marlene, your page layout is really lovely.. the photos of Mount Schank are beautiful, you have a great view from your kitchen, it is no wonder you spend a lot of time there.

best wishes,

Sheila, I have to say that I was also struggling with this challenge. I went through my photos, read Cassel's post about this theme, saw the pages there, but nothing inspired me to tell a story about sky. In the end, I decided to go a different route and create a story. I forgot to mention that the photos are from Pixabay site that Cassel mentioned. Thanks for your lovely comment on my page!

Hi, Dawn, thanks for your lovely comment. As I mentioned above, I didn't know what to do... totally blank! :)  The inspiration came when I was looking at different photos from Pixabay site. The photo buttons idea I had when I was creating a page for my niece, about her first snow. I had five photos and didn't want the page to look too crowded.

Marlene, thanks for your comment. You sure didn't have to go far (your kitchen window) to come up with this lovely page and photos. Good idea to have a blurred photo for the background and to have the title over the cloud. I didn't know this plugin, but it really made the photos stand out. Nice page!

wonderful layouts you all created, love all the differences

I made the paper from a photo and added some texture, used the edgemagic script on the photos and dropshadows

also used the buttonmaker script and a rope tube by cassel and the wonderful free alpha

I tried the watermark on one photo

Anja, lovely layout! This edge magic script gave a nice and different look to the photo. Some time ago I was going to try the watermark and I completely forgot... maybe one day.

Anja,   you picked a great title for your page to go with the photos. I have never been up in a plane, (and not likely to) I feel safer with my feet on the ground.  very nice page!

best wishes,

Whenever I think of the sky I think of heaven.  We had a horse that my husband trained and our oldest daughter rode.  She was an excellent horse.  We went to the lake for a weekend and when we came home we found her dead.   She taught us lots about the love and respect of a horse.   I found a paper of of clouds, lightened it.  I scanned the pictures in so are that the best quality.  I erased around the edge of Bonnie's face.   I added two pictures, one of my husband riding her and the other of our daughter riding her.  I found some horse sayings from the internet.  The silver alpha with diamonds is an alphabet set I bought awhile back.  A very simple page but I really enjoyed remembering Bonnie.

Royanne, loved your page, the colour, sayings and photos blend so nicely into the cloud background and very effective. a great memory page of your horse Bonnie.
