Cassel Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Have you ever made an ALPHABET album? It is a fun way to showcase photos or stories, but with an added twist. I have created an alphabet album in the past, where each page had a title (and a topic) starting with one letter of the alphabet. Then, the pages were placed in alphabetical order, even if not in chronological order. So, for 2022, I am suggesting this long-term challenge for you. With one page every 2 weeks, we will be able to finish the year with a complete album. It is up to you to decide if you want to print it or share it otherwise. I will share my own pages, just for ideas, but I will also give you some more words that will start with the letter of the week. Try to think of one overarching theme to use. It could be about your last vacation, a family gathering, a hobby of yours, a location, etc. Think of something that you have lots of photos of or many words you can associate with. If you have not started yet and want to jump in, no problem. You know the alphabet so you know what letters you will have to do and you still have many months to catch up on those few pages, so don't hesitate. There is also no deadline, so if this week's page is done only next month, it is totally fine too. So here is my U layout. Of course, you can use words in your own language too. As you can see, this album was done in French. Here are some other words that could be used as title/theme: Unconditional, Under, Unique, United, Union, Unlimited, Up, Upgrade, Useful, Ugly, Ultimate, Unfair, Uniform, Universal, Upset, Urgent, Urban, Used, Useful, Ukulele, Umbrella, Umpire, Uncle, Unicorn, and more. You can also think of anything that is un-something, like unlike, undo, etc. What will your U layout be?
Rene Marker Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 U is for (First) United Methodist Church. The church that I grew up attending. I only remember the current location. The congregation moved into this building when I was less than 5 years old. My parents were married in the previous location and I was baptized in that building. I joined the church after confirmation classes in the mid to late 60's. I always considered it my religious home even though I may not have attended regularly. One thing about the pandemic though is that it brought me back to the church.
Corrie Kinkel Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 U = for "Uitgaan" which more or less means have a night (or a day) out and go to the movies, theater, concert, casino, have dinner or drinks, go on a day fun shopping, and so on. I took photos of the cinema, theater, a restaurant, the shopping mall and for the casino I made a strip with some black, red an green numbers. The outside of the casino had dark reflecting windows and on the photos I just got to see myself taking the photo, but they had a that strip with the numbers which gave me the idea to use it too. I made some paperstrips with the name of the attraction on it. This is the last letter I had already done some weeks ago, the rest will follow in due time.
Corrie Kinkel Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Rene nice colors for this letter and your layouts are very consistent and build a lovely alphabet of your town/neighbourhood.
Rene Marker Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Thank you Corrie. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the beginning but all my layouts were done with templates that came in a set. It had 26 letters and a title page. So that's why they are consistent. I was on the designer's creative team at the time and got them for free. Being on the creative team, it was required to post layouts done with at least one of the templates from the kit. I ended up doing the whole alphabet and had a book printed at Shutterfly.
Ann Seeber Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 U is for UKRAINE - I used Cassel's Rusty Alpha and I had a Ukraine kit for the sunflowers, map and lettering. I used the outline map as a base for the UKRAINE lettering, made a duplicate and applied a cutout. The TV news came from a station in Germany. I stole pieces from a Ukraine banner I made back in March for the flags, text and snake logo at the bottom. It appears I have the letters C-D-E-T and U. I have work to do!!
Bonnie Ballentine Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 My U layout...University High School...1932 to 1966. I absolutely loved high school!
