This is a repeat from the March Sketch Challenge
I put this together for festivals and the scrap challenge. Two birds, one stone!
I used Cassel’s bead maker script, her chain tube to hold the beads together, her glitter background and her Bits and pieces script for the piece behind the photos. again the middle photo is from my friend Linda Reno and the other two are mine.
It’s somewhat busy but that is Mardi Gras

N- New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
K- King Mango Strut- Festival is not in the title but it is in the listing of festivals under alternate festivals. Pretty funny
The King Mango Strut is an annual satirical parade held in Coconut Grove, Florida. Founded by Glenn Terry and Bill Dobson in 1982, it is held on the last Sunday of each year. The parade, which uses the motto “Putting the ‘nut’ in Coconut Grove”, is composed of floats mocking local and national stories from the previous year
J- Johnny Appleseed Festival in Fort Wayne, Indiana
I went through the Filter Forge 2 class on-line and I was also playing with Carole’s PageMaker-Photo script, which by the way had me going in circles for a bit but I figured it out with the help of Carole, anyway, I combined the two to get this example. I had to make each opening black, promote to a layer and rename each “Photo” then pull the frame to the top of the layers, then run the PageMaker-Photo script. Filter Forge has a ton of frames and anything else you want.
Ann,
Garlic Festival, who knew!!!!
Beautiful layout
Everyone knows about Mardi Gras. Since I have a good friend who lives in New Orleans and just happens to be a photographer and actually studied this celebration, I am using her photos in this layout and ones to come. Her name is Linda Reno. She has been gracious enough to let me use her photos.

Julie,
Don’t know why you don’t care for your spring project (lesson 5). If you hadn’t already told us you were a newcomer I wouldn’t have known. You are doing a great job and I think you are enjoying yourself. Keep it up. I think you have a flare for this.
Oh and thanks for the Kudos.
Lynda
This is one more, no lesson just masks. I saw this robin in the tree in our backyard and was so happy because that is a definite sign of spring. So here is my sweet robin. All photos are mine, plaid made with the robin photos. Template made with the scrap page provided by Carole in one of the lessons. Can’t remember which one, sorry.
To give you more perspective on the giant cow. It seems bigger in the other photo especially with the mountains behind it.
I’m a sucker for a quiz- 10 out 0f 10

Carole,
Yes, my computer, for some unknown reason, decided to co-operate. LOL they are trees, not redwoods or anything like that but not shrubs. When we came upon the giant cow we had a good laugh. It really is hilarious.

Giant cow on linoleum
Finally was able to get my computer to co-operate so I’m posting another lesson 6 with the proper linoleum paper
Lesson 7-Dots

Well Laurie, I’m jealous.. I would love to live on a lake or other body of water. Don’t think it’s going to happen though.
Your layout is lovely.
Lynda
Thanks Mary,
I’m glad you like it. A little tribute to the best dog ever… She is very old and has never given us a problem from day one although she is the beggar supreme! 🙂
Lynda
Thanks Linda,
Just follow the Linoleum instructions and repeat the Displacement map part of it until you get a result you like. I had to use seamless tiling because my computer is not complying but it seems to work. Also, I put a white layer under the linoleum creation and I decreased the opacity of the linoleum until I found something I liked.
Hope this makes your search easier,
Lynda
I love the idea of being able to flip through all the projects rather than scrolling. A much faster way of looking at everyones creations.
Lesson 6- Linoleum
I have made this before but this time around my computer could not handle resize to 3600px, so I tried to enlarge the 500px image little by little.. that didn’t work either so I had to make a seamless tile.. I came up with a couple of different backgrounds by repeating the displacement map different number of times. My favorite turned out looking like watercolor splotches. So here it is.
Julia,
My heart breaks for what is going on in the world and it seems I can do nothing but protest. Pretty useless it seems. All we can do is be good to each other and while all this PaintsShop stuff seems trivial, it is a small way to be good to each other and share in humanity.
Best to you and all who share here.
Lynda
Julia,
No problem… do you have people in Kyiv? This situation is devastating to me and I have no ties. I can only imagine how it is for those that do. It makes me cry just thinking about it and having no power to do anything about it.
Lynda
Mary,
I love Chicago, love Navy Pier.. Next time you must go on the Pirate ship. You got a really good shot of the Ferris wheel and the glass.
Lynda
This is just for fun. Carole said this masking business was addicting so don’t blame me. 😀
Connie
LOL nice job
Connie,
Very nice. Love your bird brush, I’m assuming.
Lynda
Julie,
Looks like you did a fine job to me. Appropriate subject with all that is going on.
Lynda
Carole,
In answer to your question “Did you use the kaleidoscope tool to create the large background pattern?” Yes I did. It was actually a mistake. It took me a bit to figure out the smaller kaleidoscope backgrounds.
BTW Great respect here, I don’t know how you look at everyone’s creations and comment on each one personally. It is a great talent. Thanks
Lynda
Anita,
Love your train and your zeppelin … so cool!
