Hi Carole –  Actually I never thought about a mask, although I don’t think my mask skills would be that good!!  I made 4 selection boxes, lined them up then made a selection of the part of the photo I wanted to paste in.   (I have resized and realigned the 1st box!)

Final project of the Boot camp and everything is mine.  I see the spacing between 1st and 2nd box is a bit wide I will have to fix that.  I was wanting to use the 2 photos somehow and decided to add them into the boxes.

Thanks for the Bootcamp Carole and to everyone who participated with such inspired creations that it is always a pleasure to scroll through the postings.

Wow at the amazing work being displayed here!  Especially great seeing what a difference the tweaks make that Carole suggests.

What I have learned or have been reminded of is that if a tool is not working as expected or supposed to, is to check all the settings!  My magic wand and I have a love/hate relationship over settings.

The papers and photos are mine as is the ball spiral.  The grass is a tube from Corel and the mushrooms from my stash.  I am going to redo the text.

The top and bottom are both phone photos and I included the top one as it shows the koala being on such a thin branch and they even go on thinner ones!  He/she was way up and that was at full camera zoom.

Running a bit behind but here are my Day 5 and 7 projects.  Still wandering around at my sons, he has lots of native wildlife.  I need to remember my camera when I am there as my phone doesn’t zoom very well.   Day 5 saved ok but day 7 refused to save as a pspimage the same as it did for day 3.  Not sure why.  I have attached the error msg.  Thankfully jpg works.  I was using PSP2020.  I had saved quite a few steps but still a long way off finished.  Both projects are my work apart from the flying bird brush.

Ugh I went off the page and lost what I was posting.  Also for the first time ever I was not able to save as a pspimage for some reason (I kept getting an error msg)  – fortunately jpg was ok.

Love the amazing and creative pages being posted.  My notebook is getting full of inspirational ideas and suggested tweaks for improvement

The butterflies are from various, bee – Crazy Spring Beetles, sprinkles – Captivating Nights,  background paper – Blissful Butterflies, fonts Academy Engraved and Arial – the rest mine.

On tour – walk out the front door and look left and there is the magnificent hibiscus.  They can be messy but so pretty.

Sharing my sandwich – I like triangles, my son likes ‘man size’ and we have a jam tart each for a treat.  I made the gingham cloth.  I am pretending the chilli acorn leaves are parsley!!.

Hi this will be my 4th Bootcamp (I still have lots to learn about scrapbooking!)  and I prefer to work with a dark grey workspace, med grey background.  The photos I will most likely be using are a mixture of flowers, bush and animals from walks around my sons place.

Liz, the main town near where I live have what they call “Mooving Art” –  many highly painted cows are placed around the region and they ‘moove’ them around. There is also a park with a large herd and it is quite a tourist attraction and the kids love them.

Days 3, 4 and 5.   Day 3 and 5 photos were taken at a botanical garden in New Zealand.  Day  4 shows the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

The quick pages are just that – quick, but also open interesting possibilities to create future pages.  My ‘photos’ here are of psp tutorials I have made.  Because they are so quick to create I have had fun making extra pages!

The calendars being produced here are spectacular and the people on the receiving end should be delighted to have them on display throughout 2022.

I am making 2 calendars with these templates – one all black and white images of sea/coast and the other using knitting /crocheting work of  a friend.  Unfortunately the photos I have are very small and take forever to enlarge in 2021 so I am experimenting with backgrounds.  Just a selection of months from each calendar here.  All are very much a work in progress and everything is subject to change.  Fonts are A&S Christmas (b&w) and Fugenta.  I added in days of the week.

After watching some of the 10th Anniversary tutorials today I had some fun making these.  A Letter Tile / Tied String / Circle Text Paper / Plaid / Photo Cutout – I used the plaid here / Ribbon Circles.   I made both the polka dot ribbon and disc tag – the string is made from a Corel stitch tube and the fish a Corel texture.

The recent Magazine Challenge was another interesting challenge for me and a great learning experience with templates. Learning how to edit them and how to create one from scratch.  Finally templates started to make sense!

The challenge also included text wrapping and text overlapping a photo.   I am still tweaking my pages for this and adding extras.

A Wise Word challenge was a great learning experience using text in different ways.   One lesson created an outline text with various options to fill or half fill ( I used a poppy fill) and using a sculpture texture to add nice edge and bevel to the outline.   Another lesson covered text wrapping and how to remove part of a selection which I have found invaluable

I am really enjoying seeing all the different creations and the walk down memory lane.

In July I did the Basic Scrap Course and this layout is from Module 3.   Watching the Shadows Masterclass reminded me that this module included adjusting shadows (I didn’t apply that here but did experiment with the technique) and also Reverse Shadows – something I had not heard of before but made a lot of sense.  Vertical Text and Inner bevel was also covered.  The big takeaway for me in this module apart from adjusting shadows and reverse shadows was using the Shift key to move smaller elements and it has ended my frustrations with moving elements and text. It is learning these little things that can make a huge difference.    I think the Shift Key is a power key!

My first step into Scrapping was the Boot Camp in May 2020 and it was an eye opener and an interesting experience.  I have used PSP since early Jasc days but never scrap booked or used templates.  My Day 9 of the Boot Camp introduced the “pinking shear” edging,  and a created a frame using select selection borders. This day also included changing individual letters in text.  One thing (tip) in particular I learned in boot camp, that has helped  many times, is to duplicate and save the vector layers (text).

Scrolling through the amazing pages here it really is wonderful to see the talent and creativity of people.  It must  make you so proud Carole to see what you have achieved, and how many you have inspired and encouraged to bring about these masterpieces.

Congratulations on 10 years Carole and many more to come!   You do an incredible job and have created something wonderful.  Thank you.

These pages are in the process of being redone but are still a work in progress. To show I have been working on them I decided to post these anyway on one page. I do have my template for page 7 and have also been working on a few extra pages that eventually I hope to have them printed once I finishing reworking some of these.

PSP (2021) is so slow for me it is very frustrating, on checking the temp log almost every other line says send request failed or cannot get server response properly and the elapsed times are crazy.

Thanks Carole for this challenge it has been interesting and my favourite ‘take away’ from this challenge is how to create and adjust a template, something that I usually ‘stuff up”.

The pages presented here by everyone are awesome – thanks all for the information and inspiration.

Hi – Sorry to be running behind – that is one of the problems of being a procrastinator and not being able to decide on what/where/who to showcase.  I decided on the Goldfields of West Aust.  Lake Ballard is a huge salt lake and is home to the largest outdoor art gallery in the world with 51 steel statues spread out over 7 sq km.

Annie might visit me in her travels around Australia!

An amazing lot of creativity is being displayed in the magazines,  there is so much talent here and the suggestions/tips are always appreciated.

One thing I like to do when working with fonts is to rename the font layer with the font name and size I used.

I actually started the modules around the same time I started the Bootcamp, and after a quite few pc issues and a reinstall of 2021 I finally finished the last one today.

I have not followed any ‘theme’ with my modules and this one is no exception.   My grand daughter asked me go along to see the bull riders with her and has since asked me to make a page showing them.   The photo’s are taken from a phone video so are not clear, hopefully she will be happy.  The cork alpha is by Marie at freedigitalscrapbooking.com

All the papers are mine, as are the stars, brad and rope.  I had threaded the rope early (I jumped the gun) so the shadows where the rope / circles meet won’t show as realistic as it should.  I should have read and watched everything before I started!.  Lesson learnt!   One lesson I learned a long time ago is naming layers esp. when working with a large number of layer and thumbnails turned off.

It was interesting making the circle cutouts and very effective.

I enjoyed these 5 projects – there is always something to learn.  Retaining the knowledge is the problem! I need a new notebook!!

Photo and papers are mine,  I also created the pearls and stars and made the lace doily from a tutorial on Pinterest (craftyinspirationbylinda).  I used Carole’s scrabble tiles for the title text.   I kept the story text aligned left – I tried right but preferred left and I see I left out the fasteners on this image.

My default workspace has the rulers showing.   I mainly use the old mirror/flip ands since doing these courses I am a lot more aware of light and shadow esp. when when I mirror or flip an element that has light/shadow on it, I don’t always get it right but I try to.

Once again the papers and photo are mine, with the papers being created from the photo. The kangaroo paw plant and rope were from KAagard Down Under kit, I was going to include a few snakes sunning themselves on the rocks but my grandson said ‘no way’.

A great tip from this module was to hold the Shift key with the Move tool – something I have had trouble with is grabbing small elements and usually end up moving everything but what I want to.

The photo, elements and papers all mine.  I didn’t get the script to move papers and elements, although it looks a handy script to use.  They never caught any fish that day either!  I tried playing with the idea of fishing lures hanging but wasn’t sure how to stitch them or what to stitch them too so ended up without anything.

Thanks Carole – much better on the eye when it is a level horizon!  It is the things that you see like that which make a huge difference to the final page.

Ann S.-  Australia has the largest (if not it is close to) population of wild camels in the world!   Bit of trivia 🙂

Day 11 and final for this boot camp.   Photo and papers are mine, the lamp, tree and moon from my stash, the frame is from alluring amethyst, and the sprinkly stars are from captivating nights.  The camels on the beach and the staircase to the moon images are from the internet. The chain links holding the lamp are a corel tube.

Thank you to all who posted such amazing creations and to Cassel for the Bootcamp.

Day 9 – I was having trouble to find papers to suit so it is all  photos, the camels take people along the beach, it is a great sunset tourist attraction. I changed the sky in 2 photos but it is a bit too blue!  I see I cut off the lead camel’s nose when I applied the boarder.  Something I need to be aware of when making an inside selection.

All good things must end and scrolling through all the pages there are certainly good things here.  I enjoy seeing all the creativity and I learn as much from Carole’s comments and replies to posts as from the projects.  Here are my last 3, a little bit rushed as I was trying to catch up unfortunately I have been unable to complete them till now.

Day 7 – all mine apart from the flower elements and I am not sure where they originated.

Sry if I end up with a double post … I had it already to send then I scrolled back and poof it disappeared.

Susan, I am glad I am not the only one who has trouble deciding on backgrounds/ papers etc!  I like both versions of yours but maybe the green. Several years ago I learned a hard lesson with tool settings, I thought my PSP had ‘stuffed up’ and I ended up deleting and reinstalling only to discover it was a settings issue that caused my problems!!

Anne Lamp – the buttons (which were just a circle cut from my image) then applied a plugin in called Alien Skin Eye Candy Impact -glass.  I have made them from the balls and bubbles but its too fiddly for me.  You reminded me though that I do have a script which I had to search earlier PSP versions to find and below is the result. For the image I would need to tweak it but for an even pattern it would be fine.  Just need to have your pattern/image in foreground and run the script, it creates 4 pearls x 2 sizes each on its own layer.   If you would like it you are welcome to it.  Thank you for reminding me I had it!

Impressive projects are being created here, special days with grand daughters, special friends both 2 legged and 4.  I am running behind but I hope to catch up before long.

The pages being produced are amazing and it is really interesting to see how each day is being presented.  We have the same starting point but go in so many different directions!!  That is the beauty of scrapbooking.

Everything on the pages here I created although the texture on the background and the brown paper doesn’t show up much but that is ok. I wasn’t sure which background I preferred so I am posting both!  The font is Fugenta Script and the photo is mine taken in Broome West Australia.
