I have not been around much this year – hopefully that will change in 2023!  I am always amazed, impressed and inspired by the creations showcased here, I sadly lack visual inspiration while the work here by the campus members shows inspiration in spades.

I have a couple of friends who are avid knitters so tried to create a suitable card.. The actual knitting and needle I created (from a tutorial I found on the internet) and like my ‘real’ knitting there are quite a few mistakes!!.. the music sheet, candles and image are from my collection and the plaid(ish) background is mine using a gradient red/green – artistic effects – enamel with some noise added.

The Christmas Koala is also created from an old tutorial (Jemima from Artistrypsp) the photo is mine, the rest from the tutorial.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas filled with much love, family and friends, a time to relax and look forward to an amazing 2023.

I love this tree and have taken many photos of it – I added a canvas background which doesn’t quite show on a reduced image and it seemed to need a frame, this is one that came with Paintshop.   I might try again with a different brush.

Great work on the Story Time challenges! They make interesting reading and feelings of happiness and sadness and a  way to relive and remember.   It has always been interesting to follow the Pickleball games posts and now to finally get an up close and personal story from the Pickleball itself was a great read!

Final template – Paradise Falls – (very small falls) with quite a steep and uneven descent but worth the views. I am not sure which was the hardest – the going down or going up.

Everything on the page is mine the ‘papers” are photos and the circle I made is a sine sphere. The font Aachen vertical.

Thank you Carole for another interesting and educational workshop, one with a large participation showcasing amazing creativity and willingness to share knowledge and ideas.

A big thank you also to everyone who posted for the pages have been a delight to view and follow along the adventures taken and meeting friends, family and furry family members past and present, all honoured beautifully.

Carole, I have tried to register for the Dynamic Frames, but although a message appears at the top saying I have been sent a link so far no link has arrived, and it sends me back to the log in page.  I also sent an email (replied to) the Cassel email, I am probably drifting around in cyber space dodging satellites!.

Day 6- Melbourne by night a view looking up the Yarra river to the city and across the river to the Tennis Centre.

Photos and plaid paper both mine and the corner cutout is a brush script from Carole – I haven’t really used them as I couldn’t get them to work in each corner … duh  light bulb moment – read the instructions  “rotation”!  The M font is Preciosa and the rest Walrus Gumbo.  The  flower doodad is a brush.

For repeating the previous action I use a button from the edit menu and have it placed on my layers palette for easy access.   I find it an easy way to repeat an action especially when adding shadows and on the layers palette it is very handy.   I only use a mouse and I have to use 2 hands for Ctrl Y  .. this way I don’t have to leave the mouse.

If you want to add it to your task bar or layers palette,  go to view, customize and under commands select edit  (on left under categories heading) and on the right under Commands it should be 3rd icon down, then simply drag the icon to your task bar or the layers palette.

I have several of my most used icons added to the task bar in this way.

Hope this is ok to post Carole.

Template 4 – the main photo not very well displayed here (Xanthorrhoea australis), most often called the grass tree/austral grasstree or blackboy.   All photos are mine taken in Western australia.

I am enjoying the various images, template adaptions and stories being presented here, so thankyou.

Day 2 – Not what I started for day 2 but this is a kit I was going to try and use for the swap kit challenge by turning a circus kit into a birthday party.  Circus kit is by KizzedbyKelz. Everything is from the kit, and it is a bit too busy for me.

Day 3 – I am always behind and I have still to post day 2.  Photos and papers are mine and the font is Australia Fair, green and gold are the national colours of Australia.

Acacia Pycnantha aka Golden Wattle is the floral emblem of Australia and only became official  in 1988, but a Wattle Day has been observed since way back in 1899, before the nation was even federated. Wattle Day falls on September 1, the first day of spring, which reinforces the flower’s status as a symbol of new growth, renewal and fresh beginnings.

Carole,  the background is a filter  &BkgDesigner sf011 Daggers Done,  over my photo that I had used effects image effects seamless tiling first.  This image here has the background duplicated and mirrored, opacity reduced with the new layer blend overlay.   I preferred the first one as this background seems too busy for me.   I use a lot of filters normally but not so much here and it is why I use 2020 although this particular filter works in 21 and 22.

Thanks again for the workshop on Mastering Masks!  🙂

Day 7 – Lighthouse on Kangaroo Island.   For the background I created the paper from the photo then because of the lighthouse I made a brush from a ships wheel and another from a life buoy.   It didn’t quite work out how I wanted but I will work on it.

Thanks Carole for your time and the effort that goes into these workshops, and this one was was especially popular and the results achieved by everyone have been outstanding and a delight to scroll through and be inspired.

Day 6 – So many amazing and wonderful variations and colours with the ‘Lino’ effect are being presented!

It is a lot of fun playing around with this, BUT – then the issue of trying to decide which colour/pattern is the best to use – decisions!!

Day 5 – Bright is at the foothills of the Victorian Alps and an amazing place to visit in autumn as the colours are spectacular.  The Ovens River runs through the small town and as it starts in the alps the water is cool, clear and clean.

I used a dots 100 brush and think I got a bit trigger happy with the stamping!  The top font is Gabrielle and the other is FansiPensleTwo. The background paper was created with texture noise filter from Redfield.

Btw Carole – I created a new workspace in 2020 and that finally fixed my problem with masks causing a shutdown. I hadn’t made any changes so not sure why it decided to act up.

Day 4 – Frustratingly PSP2020 kept shutting down each time I started to brush, it has never happened before.   I cleared cache and temp files reset dns and workspace everything I could think of – thought I would leave it overnight to let it settle but today it still shuts down.  So 2021 it is.

Makybe Diva ran some amazing races and won the Melbourne Cup 3 years and so far the only horse to do so, she is also the only mare to win the cup twice.

Corrie, in order to see where to stamp I lower the opacity of the black mask layer to see the photo edges and where to stamp. (have to remember to reset it back to 100%).  Your idea to feather is a good one I will try that next time.

Day 3 –  Matthew Flinders statue in Port Lincoln, Sth Aust.   The map of Australia was from a set of continents by Cassel.

Lots of interesting plaids and kaleidoscopes being created, both techniques are fun to play and create with.

Day 2 – Leaving Adelaide as part of a cruise to Kangaroo Island.  I reduced the opacity of the plaid as it was a bit overpowering.  The sine bow/flower I made and placed here to fill a gap which I will replace with journaling.

I think this is the most participants I have seen post in a workshop and I am loving the colours, images and variety of the postings.

There are beautiful and interesting creations being made with the masks.  It is a pleasure to scroll through.

Very interesting video Carole, thanks for the link.  It is amazing what birds can be taught.  The magpies, crows, jays and ravens (all part of the corvidae family) are considered among the most intelligent birds in the world.

I cheated a little and only used 2 photos for this QP.  The title font is Maratre and the are boxes were made with vizros filter.

QP 6 – I have generations of magpies visit me each day and I love that they bring their young each year to visit and feed.  These photos were taken from a phone video.  A couple of the older birds feed from my hand then feed their young.  The young often come visiting now without their parents supervision.

Looking forward to the Masks Workshop – every time I think I have masks figured out I find I don’t!

Selecting photos for the Quick Page workshop (from a visit to a zoo) I decided to play with the palette challenge colours. The papers are made from a selection of the palette and for the plaid I added a strip of white and used a filter that blended the edges of the colours.

I see the beautiful pages posted here and such a variety of styles it really is a pleasure to view them all.

edit.  I have been making quite a few boxes lately – decided to turn this into one as well.  Made with Vizros.

Is the Masks workshop image at the top of the page for this workshop or an upcoming workshop Carole?

Not the island of my honeymoon (which was Norfolk Island) but one I would like to go back to, (Mystery Island, Vanuatu). I just used 3 photos with a texture added to the bottom photo.
