Michele thank you. The font is dandelion, it’s lovely and comes with extra glyphs. I found it very fitting for the flower calendar and used it on all the months. I think I got it as a freebie by Creative Fabrica, almost all my fonts are from them!

Daphne, sorry for my late reaction, but I just see your question now. I’m glad Gerry was able to answer you somewhat quicker. I’m a great fan of Creative Fabrica, they offer a free font every day and have the most loviest fonts! I hope you will visit them and see for yourself. It is an easy way to build a collection.

I know the calendars were started last month, but I only now finished my other 2. In the end it was a lot of work, especially the embellishments and backgrounds because I want them to be fitting to the month. I now have to give them a last check and then I can print them, that will take some time too. I’ll upload some of each calendar and as Annie always says: thanks for taking a peak.

Monique thank you. The font I used on the datestamp, I think that’s what you asked about, is Arienne, a free one by CF. The font for all the names of the month is Colonna MT, also by CF. I made an account there and get a free font/grafic every day; I have so many now that I’m becoming a bit picky.

This are the pages of my first calendar, all finished and ready to print! They are all about the village I live and the recipients will know what the photos are about, so no explanation text is needed.

My layout again because Sue T suggested that it ould look better if I put the 2nd part of the text at th bottom and not overlapping the green border. By trying that I must say: I agree and so it is here and by doing so I saw that the kerning wasn’t right and I adjusted it also. Now I’m happy with this page!

I left my calendars for a while to make this for the scraplift because I like that challenge. I went for an autumn related page and instead of a round mat under the photo I took a photo of an oakleaf and extracted the leaf. The colors of that leaf dictated the colorscheme. On the photo of the mushrooms growing inside a tree I used a mask to focus the attention on the mushrooms. Made the tags . The background is a photo of leaves too with a couple of blend modes and papers underneath. Don’t ask me with blend modes it made in the end, I forgot to write that down. You cann’t see it in this resized version, but there is a texture as well. To the right is a strip with a blinds texture and a lace edge font from Carole. Text font is Melinda script. And now it’s back to my calendars again.

Monique I understand why, I find the border a bit overpowering, a bit dark. Have you tried other colors? In the photo is some red and even blue; besides you do not have to have the border and 2022 in the same color. Maybe You have thought and tried this already…..

I’m not finished yet but progressing steadily; 3 calendars at the same time is maybe a bit ambitious!

This month has a special story attatched to it  and I already have posted this on Facebook but want to do so here as well. This photo is taken in Leur (now a part of Etten-Leur) and the Dutchies will know it, and so do the recipients of the calendar. Therefor I don’t put it on the calendar but I think for some of youwho love history it can be interesting.

From 1568 – 1648 there was 80 years of war (Tachtigjarige Oorlog) between the Low Countries and Spain and the nearby walled town of Breda was occupied by the Spaniards. The Dutch prince Maurits wanted to take back the town which was heavily garded. A skipper, called Adriaan van Bergen, was bringing in peat (turf) for fuel with his boat on a regular basis and the gards knew him and his boat so well that they stopped searching his boat. So a trick was devised! In the harbour of Leur 70 soldiers were hidden under the load of peat and in the nightly hours of the 4th of March 1590 they very stealthly came out of the boat and opened the gates of Breda for their comrads who had been hiding nearby and the town was taken back!
This skipper is now known as the Turfschipper and the boat het Turfschip. On the photo you see a statue of Adriaan van Bergen on the side of what once was the little harbour. The big building on the other side of the water is Het Turfschip, a community center. The gun is just decoration; the nearby square is called Van Bergenplein.

There is so much work done by everybody and by far to much to comment individual, but it is again a great succes this calendar challenge. Well done to all!

For me it’s all coming together now and here are the first pages of two calendars, I’m working parallel now because some of the embellishments are the same.

The first 3 are for the calendar of my village Etten-Leur with embellishments fitting for the photo or the time of the year. I make a birthday calendar with the same photos and backgrounds but with lines to write the birthdays on. I’ll do those when all the rest is finished, because that’s easy to make.

The second 2 are of the wild flowers I have often featured here in other projects. That calendar will go to Switzerland. To those of you who understand German, I know that I should have used capitals in my text, but in Switzerland they are neglecting that themselves, so I feel free to do the same. March will follow later.

At least I have something finished to show: the covers! For the calendars: I have all the photos in place, all the month fonts adjusted, the dateboxes starting the week on monday and the days of the week above the boxes. Now I’ll start on changing some colors in the boxes and I have to do the embellishments, so I’m not finished yet, but it is coming together.

Here is the cover for the birthday calendar (verjaardagskalender) and the calendat with all the photos of my village (Etten-Leur) is the same without the text but with the year on it. The other one has the flowerphotos and is in German, which of course you don’t see on the cover.

Everybody is making wonderful and very different calendars and I’m sure there will be happy recipients of them if you intent to make gifts.

Anita not all fonts have a character map with those lovely glyphs! So you did everything correct and if you want something fancy you have to look for another font. I learned this when making last years calendar, so when I now download a new font I always check for it. Have you joined the 10 year Bootcamp party? At the end there was a price for all of us from Creative Fabrica with fonts that all have something extra; if you have them look there!

Just a month to let you know I’m still here and slowly progressing. This is for the calendar with the photos from my village and because this calendar will be with buildings, mills, churches I have choosen the font Colonna MT which is a bit statuesque. The birthday calendar has the same photos and font but no dateboxes, only lines with the date numbers. I’ll do that when I have all the pages ready, that will go quickly. This week my time is fairly limited; there have been month with nothing happening and now everything comes in the same 2 weeks.

Helen  congratulations! Next month we are in the same position, but overhere it is possible to go to a restaurant for dinner. We just have to show a QR-code on our mobile phones that indicates we are fully vaccinated, tested or recovered. But it is still better to be very careful, friends got infected! As our daughter, son-in-law and the grands are in the States and we in Europe, no big party, we haven’t seen each other for 2 years now!!!  (Of course we use skype and videocalls) It will be just lunch with our son and his partner, but it is better than nothing and we are thankful that it is possible now. At least if everything stays so, the numbers are rising rappidly again. As always everybody stay safe please!

Monique lovely to see the “Openlucht Museum” always worth a visit!

This is for calendar number 2 with the flowers. Of course I have made backgrounds for the other calendars too but they are in a similar style with gradients.

This is my January page. I’m planning to make 3 different calendars this time, because the one from last year was a big succes; it made wonderful gifts. So calendar 1 will be with photos from my village which I took this year. Calendar 2 will be a birthday calendar, that means no datebox only straight lines with the numbers 1 – 31, on which the names can be written.I had a request for such a calendar. And calendar 3 has flower photos and will be in German for the mother-in-law of my daughter who loves flowers. She has cut out the photos from this year’s calendar after the month was over  and used them in some projects of her own.

I hope I have time enough to complete all three and I will show once in a while (not every day) one of the three in progress. Wish me luck and lots of free time which this week is already a problem. We have choosen and ordered new furniture and after a waiting period of 5 month it will be delivered tomorrow! The next day we have the 50th wedding anniversary of very dear friends and after that there are more appointments. But in the end it will hopefully work out fine.
