M = Mustang
K = Konik horse, a wild horse from Poland about 130-140 cm stick height. In the Netherlands they live nowadays in some nature reserves where they can look after themselves without interference. They are doing well but there are to many of them for our little reserves and some are transported back to the eastern countries in Europe. Besides that some have been shot!
Hi Carole,
As promissed yesterday here is the problem with an outline on the text. The outline exists of little “lines” instead of a solid color. You said this is a bug in all versions of PSP and there is a way around! I hope you can address this issue on Sunday, because it is a pity that I (we) can not use it as is.
Looking forward to the Q&A session.
I had to think a bit to come up with an idea for this word challenge TIE. I kept coming to a tie-dye image that came to mind. Luckely I have a photo of a flower that has something of a tye-dye effect. The papers however were a problem; to make some myself did not work out well and on line I couldn’t find much with a realistic effect. Only digitalscrapbook.com had two. Of course I wanted to incorporate the wordframe 5 script I won last sunday! Furthermore I made a word sticker, tag, flairbutton and dictionary paper.
Carole how about a tutorial or a script on tie-dye papers???
Sue I’m sorry for your losses, human and horse alike! Your page is as always very special and a great tribute to the relation you have with your horses. For a citygirl like me it is a life that is far from my own life, although there have been animals of a much smaller kind.
When I was busy making my photo album everybody has made such very different and lovely pages!!! That word frame 5 goes definitivly on my wishlist. My trip was rather expensive, so it has to wait a little bit, just as the two tone font.
J = Jockey
E = Equestrian sport
Sorry no horses, this is probably a great theme for Sue Thomas!!! I look forward to her layouts.
The time of the Masterclasses is fine by me (I’m a nightowl), although for us Europeans it is rather late (11 pm) in the evening. But I’m aware that 5 pm Eastern time is a great time for you, it allows you to have at least a part of the sunday afternoon off.
On my trip to the States I have seen all sorts of Rhododendrons in flower and of course I had to take their picture! So for this Number Challenge I used 5 of those photos in their own mask (I’m still in mask mood), 5 frames with a gradient and inner bevel and 5 dragonflies. The background is made of 2 papers with the blendmode to color and an overlay to give it some texture. The font is Bodoni MT on some sort of a round mat. The dragonflies, called vintage dragonfly, come from one of the freebie collections that Creative Fabrica had some time ago.
After my trip and all the photo album making I’m happy to be able to do some scrapping again!
The letter K is for Kerken (Churches). Two of the three are still in use as church. There were more but another one is rather recently pulled down and there is now an apartment building realized. The two still in use are Catholic Churches. Other religions are holding services in community-centres. The aptly named Van Gogh Kerk is the church where the father of Vincent van Gogh was a minister. Nowadays it is in use as exibition hall, polling station and the city counsil uses it for special business occasions.
This layout I prepared in advance too before I started my trip, but now I have to make the new ones every 2 weeks or so. I still am not completely back to my normal daily routine, but at least I did send my finished album to the printshop this afternoon. Now I have to wait a couple of days for the result.
Sue very nice and I like your close-ups of the birds very much. We however did have a number challenge in september last year!
And here are the last 2 intro pages for my album! Again templates with masks and backgrounds made of different papers with a blendmode. With the blendmode I always just try and see which one I like with a particular project and color.
Now I can make my album with most of the photos and have it printed. I’m very sure that in the weeks/months to come I will use a lot of those photos in different challenges/workshops here in the Campus. So you will get to see a lot more, there are even flowers!!!!
Susan and Mary thank you and both of you did lovely pages for the QP Workshop. I did that one already 2 times, so I’m not all too sorry for not following that one again. Instead I concentrate on my album. Here is the next page for Bainbridge Island in the Puget Sound and very much in the rain!!! I used Google Maps to make a screenhot of the area and painted the route we took. Again a mask with a photo of the beach in the fog and rain. Later that day the weather improved some what but never the less it was a fine day with lots to see.
I had time to spare today; the laundry and ironing after my trip is done and my groceries are stocked up. My husband did well on his own but shopping was needed…..
So here are the next two layouts for my album. The background of both pages is made by blending differerent papers I have in my stash. In Marymoor the Blue Herons are nesting in hugh numbers and the swallows had returned too. On both pages I used a mask from the Masks Workshop, but I adapted it to my needs, For this album I probably will use a mask for all the intro pages, that makes it a bit consistent which I like.
Welcome Iona, beside making scrapbook layouts I make cards too and my cardmaking has improved so much using the techniques I learned here. We are a very international group and it is interesting to learn about all the different countries were we live as well. That’s the beauty of being digital.
Susan thank you!
Here is the first of the intro pages for my album, the text of all the pages will be in Dutch because I’ll use that album when printed here at home. I used a mask from the Mask Workshop and the embellishments are from a travelkit by digital.scrapbook.com. The font is Western, just to stay in style…
I’m slowly getting over my jetlag and have started sorting my photos for an album which I want to print. I don’t intend to make all the pages as scrapbookpages but as we made various trips I’ll make an intro page as a scrapbooko one and then come the pictures and so on. So this is my coverpage and I used the freebie template from Carole and the fonts are USA Nation and Whiskey; both fitting for the theme. In case you are wondering why I didn’t do a border around it all? When I make an album on a printing site I get the option to do a border and then I can choose something for all my pages If I want. I think I skip the Bingo Challenge and continue with my album because I want it printed as soon as possible for showing to family and friends. Now to the intro pages which will be in more detail.
Ladies, thank you. The photos will be used: today I have just transferred them to the pc and I need a little bit of time to get over my jetlag before I make silly mistakes……..
After 3 weeks being in the States with my daughter and the grandkids I came back home today. I had a lovely time and have seen a lot, which will be shown in the coming months. I have a hell of a jetlag, but am unable to get to sleep right away, so here is my letter J, which I did before leaving. De “Jachthaven” or the “Marina” is situated along a waterway which gives the yachts access to the river and lakes beyond. It was constructed in 2001 and is only a small marina with yachts and motorboats. There is a pavillion with a nice terras that is also frequented by walkers and bikers. I made the mask with watercolorbrushes.
My own language Dutch and German. Of course I’ll help out when needed.
I am so sorry to hear of Annie’s passing and like all of us I will miss her work and witty comments. She was a great inspiration and help to me when I joined the Campus!
F = Festivities after winning an award
Great, it is okay now! You must have almost “hated” me for finding this problem and all the effort it took to remedie it. But at least I can go on my trip to morrow knowing all is well in the Campus again. I had my Covid test this morning and it is negativ, a relief. So it’s of to bed because tomorrow will be a very long day!
The same happens for me as Susan describes.
Thank you Marie-Claire and of course I will make lots of photos and not only of the family. I hope to have many that later this year will be used in scrapbookpages, at least if the weather will be okay.
Monique it is difficult not to resize isn’t it! But your result of this challenge is great looking!
Just checking again and when I click on the image of the Template Workshop I get the Basic Scrap Course which I can access and follow the lessons. When I click on lesson 1 next to that image nothing happens. This is getting stranger and stranger…….
Susan, Monique and Ann thanks for the good wishes and I must say I’m very excited to be able to see them all. Ann you don’t have to miss me totally because I will check and possibly comment here on all the fantastic pages that will be posted. I don’t take my (big) laptop with me so I’m not scrapping, but on my tablet I can follow what is going on here and hope to come back with lots of photos and new ideas.
I was busy preparing for my trip and I’m so glad there are others with this strange problem and no it does not work for me either.
