My granddaughter, Ilana & husband, Maverick, have announced a second pregnancy – she’s due June 26, 2023. I used a template for this from ps_rachel-martin_287867_kamala-templates-template-01. The Alpha is from the In the Moonlight mega kit.

Here’s my interpretation of the Sketch Challenge. I turned it 90 degrees and combined two of the placeholders into one to give me a total of 3 photos. I dipped into a new mega kit I got from Janet Kemp on digitalscrapbook.com. It’s called In the Moonlight. I used a background paper and a paint splash and several washi tapes. I also got a brad from the Ladybug kit, since Magic’s tea set has ladybugs on it. The tea set was found on Facebook Marketplace and seems to be quite old. Magic made cookies with her Nana Debbie, just for the tea party. Debbie is my daughter and Magic is my great-granddaughter. Her father is Debbie’s son, Will and they live on the opposite coast in California.

Lynda, no he’s in the same 5 gallon tank with the two shrimps and one snail. Other fish might be a problem but I’ve been talking to other Betta owners who keep them with tankmates and mostly, it works. Sometimes the Betta is too aggressive but, so far, Cherokee hasn’t bothered them. Of course, they are hiding anyway! 😀 Since I have lots of plants in the tank it works out. The shrimps are two males so no babies will show up; they would definitely be eaten!

Introducing the new denizens of my aquarium. Only the Nerite snail has been long-term; the Betta and Cardinia shrimps are new. I used Banana Pancakes font this time.

I chose one of America’s most famous for this showcase. We’ll never catch up to Europe in the cathedral department, but St. Patrick’s is the largest Gothic Revival in North America. This is created on a collage template. The photos are from St. Patrick’s website.

Playing with Blending techniques and my granddaughter’s wedding photos. This is two photos, one of the couple and the other of the flowers on the head table. The word art is stamps from Pixelscrapper. The frame started out as a white mat but playing with inner bevels I decided to leave it like this.

Riffing on Carole’s class on Blending Photos I just put these two together. My granddaughter and her new husband from the wedding ceremony on Sept 9 and later on honeymoon in Key West, FL. The word art is from Marisa Lerin.

Nice, Michele. Always glad to view your Fab Divas! I’ve tried Outer Bevels but have no luck with black or very dark borders. Do you have any tips?

I guess the format here in the Forum has changed because the images don’t open nicely in a larger version when I click on them. Of course, posting the link from the Gallery gives a much larger version but I’m still struggling to get those aligned with my text here in the Forum.

And Carole Cassel: as I mentioned, the Selection tool set to Fixed size is giving me headaches as it won’t acknowledge the new, larger image I want to work with. Many times I have more than one open in my PSP and it seems to get stuck on a previous, smaller size and won’t adjust to the image I have newly activated. Sometimes, in frustration, I end up closing my PSP2022 down altogether and re-opening with just the image I was attempting to use the selection on. Hoping for a tip or trick to fix this. Thanks.

Utilizing Carole’s freebie SLATS. I was waiting to use this great photo of my great-grand, Magic and her mother, Lucy. The block alpha is from cass. The heart is from a Valentine’s kit. The date font is Aviation Cocktail Aged 1. I used a lot of inner bevels. Hopefully, I’ll learn how to do shadows on a black background soon!

Here’s my hometown church, where I was baptized, confirmed, married and my children baptized. It was a German Lutheran Church, quite liberal for its time. I even attended church camp in the summer and most of my friends were confirmed with me. The text is Sunlight Script.

My daughter took this photo with her new Samsung cell phone camera while at work. The bird was tucked into a fall decoration of corn stalks right next to the front door of her school. I hunted Unsplash and found this cornfield from Jesse Gardner to use as a background and changed the hue to suit. The poem, from Stephanie Lenox, I found online. The fonts are all Arial except for the two signatures which are in Copperplate Gothic. I like simple designs like this with little embellishments; letting the photos and story speak for themselves.

I just saw the term “tuition” used and my mind at first jumped to the amount of money paid for education. As in, my tuition for this semester is due soon. I looked the word up and see it also means teaching and education but that’s not where my mind first went. Just a thought…

Rene: I, too, started with PSP when it was JASC and took classes from ZDNet, totally focused on creating a web presence for our business, the Warwick Drive-In Theater. I took web design and learned to do a bit of hand coding and then went for Dreamweaver, incorporating PSP for any images. As you said, eventually ZDNet ended the cheap classes (under $5.00 per month) and Dreamweaver became more complex and, honestly, beyond my understanding. I never used any of it for personal photos since I used a tiny digital camera that gave me prints that got lost in a drawer somewhere. 😉 (This, obviously, was before the cellphone era came along.) Eventually, we got an offer to have the website done professionally along with a cheaper newsletter blast and we went that route. Since I could add banners and edit it in other ways, I still needed to hone my skills, so to speak. I appreciate the Campus because it keeps me motivated to add to my PSP skills and meet great people here. Carole is a wonderful, patient, talented teacher and I’d never change!

Sharla: I completely agree with you. The term Scrapbooking kind of put me off too because I wasn’t into Genealogy for my family. I had actually turned that chore over to one of my daughters who is now using the Ancestry internet site to document our family history. Telling stories is more my speed but I find them awkward in a 3600 px square. Since becoming a member of this Campus I’ve learned so much about what PSP can do and, for me, that is the focus. The Google definition of scrapbooking says: Scrapbooking is a method of preserving, presenting and arranging personal and family history in the form of a book, box or card. Typical memorabilia include photographs, printed media, and artwork. Scrapbook albums are often decorated and frequently contain extensive journal entries or written descriptions. I’ve been using PSP for years to make ads for our movies, so scrapbooks don’t really fit. (We own a movie theater).

I think Carole asked for Halloween photos. Here’s my Pennsylvania family being Mario Bros. video game characters and my daughter Deb and Aaron in California on the lower left. No great-grands, this time, just the older generations.

I used the Halloween template but without the foggy background, otherwise the photos did not show through. I selected the black design and promoted it to a new layer and deleted the original. I added some of Cassel’s Picture Tube ghosties and a few clipart items.

They come in a variety of colors, including golden with spots and gray with stripes, but this dark, melanistic variety is common. Their scientific name is Leopardus geoffroyi and they are the size of a small domestic cat, weighing about 8-10 lbs. Nico was a resident of Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida, until his death in 2007.

Susan: I still couldn’t see your posts here in the forum so I went to the Gallery and rolled on the floor laughing at your “restaurant on the moon ad!” It is hilarious! The headline RESTAURANT OPENS ON THE MOON, NO ATMOSPHERE, is brilliant. I liked it so much I copied it and shared it with my daughter (hoping you won’t mind), so we could laugh together.

Three of my grandchildren dressed as the Mario Bros. video game characters for a Halloween party last night. I plunked them into the Corel bats freebie. And here’s Logan in the other freebie.
