I was just playing with a little framing, using this gorgeous watercolor a friend showed me. The artist is Cori Lee Marvin. I used Cassel’s stitching frame, echoing the sewing theme and played with drop shadows, mostly on the mat, and I like the illusion of depth that I achieved. I have this on my desktop. I’ve named it Singer with Goldfinches. 🙂
July 12, 2022 at 11:56 am #79034Very nice frame:)
July 12, 2022 at 12:13 pm #79035My today homework. I like colorful sandwiches so I have deleted last layer, sorry;) I dislike eating too much onion because….you know.
July 12, 2022 at 2:46 pm #79044Kasany, can you post the sandwich in the Bootcamp thread? That will make it easier to review and keep everything together.
July 13, 2022 at 10:17 am #79087Ann, I love your frame! You really went to town with the stitch fonts. Fantastic.
July 13, 2022 at 10:22 am #79089Used cass’s twisted ropes picture tube and the vector tube script on the text and to make the frames. It’s hard to see at this size, but it really made the layout come together. I’ll post the full size on the Scrapbooking with PSP page on FB if you want to see the detail.
July 13, 2022 at 11:49 am #79103Michele: The frame is a freebie from the store when the script came out. I did some color changing so I have several versions. Glad you like it. I love the Singer with Goldfinch art!
July 13, 2022 at 12:10 pm #79105Hi, I’ve had some false starts and a disaster but I persevered and got the third part of Lab 5 11. I have also added a signature to the bottom right of this offering. I made this one in 2018, an updated version of one I created in 2014.
Did you know you can use a signature as a watermark, just enlarge the signature place it across your image and adjust the opacity so you can see your image reasonably well under the signature; theoretically no one should be able to pass off your work as there own
July 17, 2022 at 12:11 am #79537This morning I downloaded one of the daily gifts from Creative Fabrica, the flowers laced envelope. I thought to myself I can use this to create a tag this evening. I then got playing with it, and created several elements to be used at a later date. Many of you will be like myself, becoming overwhelmed by the volume of content in CF. A great deal isn’t what I would ever use, or would I! Before you dismiss anything you see, take a longer look. It will pay off. I often download stuff, and modify it to suit my needs, like this envelop. I created a mask out of it. Here are two that I did. For the tag flowers, I filled them with yellow using the magic wand to match the flower photo I took yesterday. The flower petals even match the petal style in the photo. There are always so many possibilities.
I even managed to get a solitary wasp in the shot 🙂
July 17, 2022 at 12:35 am #79538hello Sue, your photography continues to amaze me … you really do it so well and a pleasure to view. the mask you created from your download is lovely along with the projects created….. best wishes to you.
Dawn.
July 17, 2022 at 12:44 am #79539hello Michele for your fab diva theme of Sailing it was a great idea to use the twisted rope tube… as always best of wishes to you.

July 17, 2022 at 12:47 am #79540Colin, you created a very nice memories page for your family photo album.
July 17, 2022 at 3:26 am #79544Well, it’s 1am here in Memphis and I have finally finished Lab 9 Mod 6. For this one, I really enjoyed making the fan and made several of them – this one had an oriental feel (I had made a pattern of a photo I had taken of my friend’s oriental rug), so I finally decided to go with an oriental setting. Instead of dragons, I used some swirls I had made months ago from an idea on a sketch. For the lab: multifont sticker – I did not want to use a “fun” font for the sticker so I only used one font – changed it
up with the warp mesh, but did make a sticker out of it; also called for “scribble text”. Well, it definitely came out “scribble”! However, mysterious was a good word for it and so it is the mysterious east (I think the word mysterious will work for a Halloween layout sometime). The emerald linking the 2 photos was made with a script from Cassel.July 17, 2022 at 6:05 am #79546It has been a while, but I am back to my pages again for my daughters book. This is page 27 when she was a bridesmaid late 80’s.
July 17, 2022 at 10:10 am #79552Dawn, you really do put a smile on my face, with your kind comments on my photography and pages. It pleases me no end, that you enjoy the photographs. Setting the stage quite often with removing, moving obstructions, and getting the right angle before taking a shot. It’s more difficult to do that with insects and animals though, although some will comply, as they seem to willing and enjoy posing for me.
Far to many pages to comment on individually, so all I’m going to say is, all round spectacular pages submitted by all you ladies and gentlemen.
July 17, 2022 at 7:46 pm #79578hello Mary .. the way you did the china text was a great idea on your lovely page and i can understand sitting up till very late to finish…. I have done that many times…
hello Shirley.. nice to see some of your work again.. a very pretty page created for your daughters book
best wishes to you both,
Dawn.
July 18, 2022 at 1:28 am #79588Mary, I love the fans you made. I wish I could see them closer up. The pattern looks really interesting. I’m doing the bootcamp again and will resume the labs right afterward. When I see your pages it’s motivating me to keep going. I see the techniques and elements you make and wonder how long it will take me to get to that lab so I can do them too.
July 18, 2022 at 3:07 am #79592Thankyou AprilDawn
July 18, 2022 at 9:51 am #79605Susan, thanks for the comment. So, I’ll post the fans.
July 19, 2022 at 12:18 am #79645And now on to Lab 9 Mod 7: ruled notebook paper, hand drawn alpha (title); abstract pattern paper. The star frame and background paper is from my stash. The kids, globe, clock, buildings, apples and books are from Creative Fabrica – their latest freebie “Back to school clipart graphics. Frankly, the hand drawn alpha I would have done by simply drawing it and then flood filling with the pattern or used a font and filled it with the pattern. As for the abstract pattern, it calls for using the pen tool which is my LEAST favorite tool! but I did it. I’m going to have to practice with that tool as it causes me much grief!
July 19, 2022 at 2:00 am #79649Mary, those fans are fan-tabulous. kidding aside, they look really good. Especially the bottom one. It’s so real looking. I too dont play well with the pen tool. Maybe because I’m using a mouse. I downloaded that freebie too, you made good use of it. thank you for posting the fans. It’s going to be a while before I get that far in the Labs. I’m till in Lab 5!
July 19, 2022 at 4:56 am #79650Susan, thanks for the comments. Yes, the pen tool doesn’t work too well with the mouse, but I work better with the mouse than with the tablet (I guess because I don’t practice with that tool either). Just keep plugging away, at least we are not on a time schedule with the labs and sometimes I have to go over the old ones again. Also, sometimes, I have to go back to the video tutorials that are posted with the labs (since they are not downloadable). You’re doing great with the labs.
July 19, 2022 at 6:43 pm #79669Awesome fans Mary
July 19, 2022 at 10:20 pm #79675hello Mary, very nice work on your fans and school day project lab 9
best wishes,
Dawn.
July 19, 2022 at 11:41 pm #79684Thanks Shirley – glad to see you back – you do some awesome work for your daughter’s album.
Thanks April – I enjoy your work too.July 20, 2022 at 4:13 am #79691i wanted to make some occasion cards suitable for wedding or anniversary etc so over the last few days i have been playing with a swan image from Graphic fairy that i have had for ages. the original image is of one swan with the wing up but i wanted 2 swans in my design… so duplicated the image and then erased a wing on one image and combined them to what you see below. the floral borders were created with a brush and then i applied eye candy plugin chrome with silver and gold settings to them. when i printed them on my matte photo paper for my cards i was really happy with how they turned out.

July 20, 2022 at 8:31 am #79701Dawn, exquisite pages, you really know how to create delicate soft pages. It’s wonderful having you back, posting your masterpieces.
July 20, 2022 at 9:12 am #79702Dawn, those are so delicate and beautiful. Love the colors and the floral elements have a really nice dimension to them. I’ve heard people mention Eye Candy before, it looks like an interesting plug in.
