Carole, I have the script PaletteMaker. But I wonder why the color depth of the photo is reduced in the first place. The colors in the palette are no longer as bright.
In order to identify specific colors to make a palette, it is the simplest way to select a finite number of colors. If all the gradients and shades of colors were still part of the image, it would be impossible for the script to know how to pick 8 colors that are not 8 shades of the same color.
This script was a tweak on a script that came with PSP, where it would create a color palette to be used in the swatches.
In the Lab at Experimentals, I’ve seen the Color Seeds images, a photo and below or next to it a color palette from the photo. I also think that’s a nice way to show a photo. Would it be nice to make such a script, where at the bottom or next to the chosen photo, you can choose a number of colors with the color dropper that the palette makes under or next to the photo?
Thanks to Marie-Claire, I had a “quick” script to fall back on, when I realized that the “new” script I had done earlier this week, was something I had already done!
