First of all, come and say HI once you register for this bootcamp.
We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up.
Everyone started as a beginner, so don’t ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at the time, one concept at the time and you will create one project at the time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different.
Once the Bootcamp is started, on July 11th, 2022, you can post your projects in here.
Remember to resize your images to about 600 pixels AND saving in jpg format, before uploading it so it won’t slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough that we can recognize what lesson you completed.
Now, let’s get ready !
If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want.
Although this Bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won’t exclude anyone for “excess experience”. Some participants are back for a second round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don’t be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time.
Since anyone can follow the whole Bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro.
The 7 tutorials will be spaced out over almost 2 weeks. This should make it easier for participants to follow without feeling stressed (it should never be stressful!).
July 11, 2022 at 1:06 am #78924Here I am again! My photo’s are still in my camera so I don’t have one to post just yet. I am hoping to be doing some flower photo’s for all the layouts. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s layouts.

July 11, 2022 at 5:08 am #78932I’m here, too. I’m over COVID, but I can’t get a negative test result, even after more than two weeks of feeling fine!
July 11, 2022 at 6:31 am #78937I’m here, again! Looking forward to joining you all in Bootcamp! I sign up every time it’s offered as I work best with frequent assignments to motivate me.
Nice to meet you, Jannette! Welcome!

July 11, 2022 at 8:49 am #78945I can’t find any password?
When i make one myself its refused.
so i can’t log in.
July 11, 2022 at 9:04 am #78946Jannette, if you posted in the forum, you are logged in. Your password is ok. To view the lessons, you get another password for each page. Did you get one this morning yet? The password is in the email, in green.
July 11, 2022 at 9:50 am #78950Jannette: Here’s the info for the first lesson:
Ready for that first step?
Go to this page and use the password – install – to get access to the video tutorial and the cheat sheet.July 11, 2022 at 9:54 am #78951Here is my workspace. I don’t like seeing every color of the rainbow, and generally have 6-7 favorite colors.
I am having trouble ALREADY!!! LOL! I want to use this file, but it won’t show up. Swatch_Digichick 1.PspScript
I also have ones with a different extension that are not showing up, either
Image67.PspPalette
I notice that the ones showing up are from PSP 2022 and are nowhere to be seen in my files – these are the new files I moved everything into!
Whats the difference between a swatch with say 6 or 7 colors and a palette?
July 11, 2022 at 9:58 am #78952I was in.
Thank you.
This ‘oldie’ woman of 73 nearby 74 was NOT brought up with PS etc.
Sorry i can’t place her an emoticon.
I was looking for a number, didn’t know lettering can be used as well.
But i v seen en downloaded the tut of tody and printed it.
Thank you so much. Always something to learn in computering.
July 11, 2022 at 10:13 am #78955My preferences are obvious i think by this photo.
Workspace colouring light grey, is my favorite.
And i need to peep in the learning centre.
Not always open.
Besides of this bootcamp i’m learning about the Tekst tool more.
What i think is very importand by scrap booking.
July 11, 2022 at 10:18 am #78956Thank you Ann, nice to meet you.
July 11, 2022 at 11:01 am #78957Suzy, typically, a SWATCH is ONE color bit while a PALETTE is a set of multiple swatches, grouped together. I can check further if you want, but so far, on my computer, even with 14 versions of PSP installed, I only have ONE file with the extension .psppalette.
July 11, 2022 at 11:12 am #78958Oh, I have about 15 of the psp palettes and the same amount of .pspscripts. I have a feeling they are all me trying to make a palette from Swatches (and it not working). Ut I have the files to prove I tried!
How do we make our own palettes? I think I thought you were supposed to save every swatch? But then I couldn’t figure out how to make the palette from them.Jannette, Welcome to the group. You said you were new, but I didn’t realize how new you were! 🙂 I think text is important, too, along with a good headline or title!
July 11, 2022 at 11:51 am #78960Hope it works for me this time. Last time I had so many problems getting into the site and posting that I had to withdraw. As suggested I’ve opted for the Complete workspace, although I’ve always used the Essentials, and I’ve hidden the Palettes and Learning sections. Looking forward to a good Bootcamp. I’m posing one photograph today.
July 11, 2022 at 12:26 pm #78962I forgot to post a photo. Here’s the latest of Magic, my great-granddaughter who just turned 2 on June 4th.
July 11, 2022 at 2:33 pm #78966Hello. Just trying to sign in. Will post a picture I plan on using.
Just me!
Anne
July 11, 2022 at 2:35 pm #78967Fine little girl:)
July 11, 2022 at 4:04 pm #78970Hi, I am from the UK. Have dabbled with PSP for a while now but not really learnt how to use it properly so keen to find out more!
Picture of my dog Kiah from a holiday in 2017. She is 14 now and feeling her age….
July 11, 2022 at 4:34 pm #789771st Lesson Complete – I think 🙂
July 11, 2022 at 6:55 pm #78986Hello all!
I love psp and learning about it. This is a screenshot of one of the pictures I plan to use and my psp workspace. I live in North Dakota and my husband farms.
Hope to get to know all of you!
Susan
July 11, 2022 at 7:00 pm #78988I am having trouble copying my PSP Ultimate 2022 Workspace. I prefer black and have a customized toolbar for some of my favorite tools such as the magic wand.
July 11, 2022 at 7:10 pm #78990Finally figured it out!
July 11, 2022 at 8:08 pm #78993Hello again. I always look forward to Bootcamp. It never fails that I either stumble on something new from the lessons and from fellow scrapbookers or find a new approach to solving a problem.
July 11, 2022 at 9:16 pm #78997Hiys all I m Harmony and hace been using psp since it first came out but not so much in recent years and more for digital images than photographs.
This is onne of the photos I want to use, I am figuring doing some pages about LARP, one particular one which is disabled friendly.I like to use a dark workspace and just keep the materials and layers pallettes, I too prefer the classic materials pallette. I am using PSP 2020

July 11, 2022 at 10:05 pm #78999Welcome everyone to our July Bootcamp. For all the newcomers, you will notice that I will add a comment on all your posts. Since I do see all the posts as they are added to the thread, if you run into any problem, just call me out and I will come to your rescue as soon as I can 🙂
Susan E. (#78924), welcome back to the Bootcamp.
Jannette (#78930), welcome to the Bootcamp. (#78955) I don’t know if it would help you, but we have a few members who are usually setting up their PSP in their own language, but they find it easier to switch it to English to follow tutorials. Do you have English installed, just in case?
Suzy (#78932), glad to see you in the Bootcamp. At least, through the monitor, you can spread that COVID! Take care of yourself anyways. (#78951) Interesting that you don’t like to see all the colors. I am the opposite: I like to have all the colors available! But that is the beauty of customizing one’s PSP to what suits you.
Ann S. (#78937), I guess repetition is good practice. How many times have you gone through this Bootcamp? (#78962) It is so much fun seeing Magic grow up, from one layout to another.
Marie (#78960), welcome! If you get stuck, don’t hesitate to drop me an email. I will do everything possible to help you. The reason I recommend using the Complete workspace is that some commands are NOT present in the Essential workspace, and it would prevent you from following some tutorials.
Anne B. (#78966), yay!!! you made it!!! Welcome!
Kasany (#78967), is it ok for me to call you like that instead of the whole displayed name? I am sure you will be the only one!
Andrew (#78970), you will have avid fans if you showcase this happy dog!!!
Susan (#78986), looking forward to seeing more of those cute faces!
Donna (#78988), happy to see you have already customized a toolbar. That is something I won’t cover in this beginner bootcamp, but definitely another way to customize your workspace.
Gerry (#78993), you are definitely not the first one to mention how little tidbits of information seem new every time one goes through the same tutorials. Looking forward to what you will learn this time around.
Harmony (#78997), welcome to the Bootcamp. You will see how much more there is to PSP than what we typically use. It is a real treasure chest!
July 11, 2022 at 10:30 pm #79001Hi everyone. I have my palettes set to “Auto Hide”… Materials, Layer and Learning Center. Background set to “Medium Gray”…Workspace set to “Light Gray”.The pictures I am using are of my twin grandsons.

July 11, 2022 at 10:55 pm #79004Emergency! Can I get my classic text box back? I can’t figure out adding text with no box! It’s writing over itself!
Here’s my pic. Might change it or add to it.
July 11, 2022 at 11:02 pm #79005Suzy, the Text entry box is not available by default, but if you hold the Shift key when you click on your canvas, it will appear for you.
July 12, 2022 at 12:05 am #79006Hello everyone. Sorry I’m a little late to this party! It’s been a long time since I played with my PSP 2018 edition and I’m a little rusty. I’m answering my email off my tablet but my PSP program is on my computer. Guess I’ll have to switch to using my computer to participate in this bootcamp. ??I’m hoping once I get back in the PSP groove it’ll all come back to me. Time will tell! I’m looking forward to meeting you all. Now, I will attempt to upload my photo. ?
oh, I decided to stick with my dark gray workspace and will use the materials, layers and tools pallets. I also like to work out of the organizer. (Geez, it almost sounds like I know what I’m doing ?!).
rats….the photo won’t go. I get a file extension error message—-needs to be resized? I’ll try again using the computer, tomorrow.
