Hi Carole and Forum Members,
I noticed, that a new version of PSP has been released. I have a question regarding its handling of layers.
In the topic “PSP 2018 Layers” of July 2018 in this forum, I discussed the aspect of having two layers with photo selctions, that do not match in colour and tone ( the example I used was the face of a young woman without hands in the original photo, and a pair of hands I selected from another photo. Pasting it as a new layer in the photo of the face, you could see that the hands were too blue. In older PSP’s you can change (with Colour Balance in Enhance Photo) the tone and contrast, so that the two layers match, and then you can combine the layers to one perfect photo of a young woman holding a hand to her face. See the topic in 2018).
Now my question is of course, does PSP 2020 have this property back again? In previous newer versions, you could not see all layers when you put the cursor on one layer, then click Enhance Photo only to see the layer at hand appear large on the screen, and all other layers hidden, making it impossible to match one layer with another for tone and contrast. So, can PSP 2020 do the same as PSP X3 again?
Has anybody tried this?
I look forward to your findings.
Robert
August 28, 2019 at 10:45 am #33791Robert, I do remember testing this and reporting it to the development team back when you first brought that up. It was with the Smart Photo Fix, right? I checked and it has not been changed so I will report it AGAIN with the explanation of why it is important.
Sorry to disappoint you, Robert.

Thanks for the quick response, Carole.

August 31, 2020 at 3:41 am #46751Hello Cassel and Forum Members,
I got a notification for a new version of PSP, 2021. To revisit my problem of trying to match a seperate layer with differing tone and colour in relation to the other layers, which is possible in PSP X3, where all layers stay visible while you adjust that one layer with enhance Photo/Smart Photo Fix, my question is, has anybody checked the new 2021 version to see if this feature is back again?
A detailed descripton of this problem is in the topic “PSP 2018 Layers” of July 2018 in this forum.
I look forward to your views on this subject.
Regards,
Robert
August 31, 2020 at 6:25 am #46754Unfortunately, they still have not changed it.
August 31, 2020 at 11:20 am #46756Alas, alas, I will still have to continue working with X-3 then, so Corel will not earn any money from me….
Thanks for checking this, Cassel.
