I am offering you a scavenger hunt where you have to find some elements and combine them to create a layout or a project. Are you up to the challenge? Although you don’t have to create those elements, you also have that option, so either you use what you have downloaded or you can still make them from scratch. Your end result must include ALL of those elements ;). I added some links to tutorials (only accessible to our DIAMOND members) but you can also use elements created from scripts.

      • Torn element (tutorial here or here)
      • Stars
      • Denim texture or element (tutorial here)
      • Jewelry or gem element (tutorial here or here)
      • Threaded ribbon (tutorial here)

You can choose any theme you want, so what will you create with those elements?

Campus July Scavenger Hunt. I used Carole’s freebie template from the blog. I chose to showcase this Robin family. As the colour of denim matched the colour of the eggs perfectly. I do this on years when I’m able to monitor a nest, which is fairly easily accessible without causing any undue stress to the parents. Also other bird species. Due to the drought causing the lack of insects, the birds will purposely rear fewer young. Most of the Robin nests I’ve found this year, had two or three eggs, the norm, is 4. For the past 3 yrs I’ve maintained wet areas, as they need mud to create their nests. They start with dry material, for the foundation and them mud to line the inside, just like a plasterer would plaster walls, then a final layer of soft dry material to lay the eggs on. I created the gem stones, and placed them on the title text ROBIN. Created the threaded ribbon, torn paper, denim texture, and stars.

Thank you ever so much Annie. I really do appreciate you taking the time to read my comments and view my pages. I have a simple style, which works for me, and the way I showcase my photos.

My contribution for the “hunt”. Doing the bootcamp of this month there was a free kit available from Krisandlarry-justmeindenim. I used it for the backgrounds and label. The frame is made with the miteredcorner script and a threaded ribbon, recolored to match the papers. Torn element comes from my stash and the text is filled with stars and a gem and the font is Bauhaus 93. The fonts for the wordart are Beauty, Bilderberg and Bauhaus with  stars from my stash.

Beautiful layout, it was well worth waiting for. You take beautiful flower photos to showcase, with layouts that do them proud.

Thank you Sue and the advantage of taking photos from flowers is that they mostly don’t move; unless it is very windy of course. We have many days with a lot of wind!

Thank you Annie, the thinking out is often the hardest part of a lay out! I almost always start with the photo(s) I want to use and take it from there.

Here’s my entry in the Scavenger Hunt: My granddaughter Jackie (newly married) working with Marshmallow, a baby African pygmy porcupine that she got to bring home over the weekend from Claws ‘N’ Paws Wild Animal Park in order to bottle feed it.

I got the thread from Pixelscrappers and the curved and shadowed frames were in PSP and came labeled sg-exuberance and I flood-filled them with blue denim texture. The tag upper right is torn. Jackie is wearing a pendant necklace I added. Finally, I added a scatter of stars. The headline text is Curlz and the labeling is Copperplate Gothic

Thanks dear Sue … the layout was provided for me, I simply had to add the elelments that were required. I did enjoy making them though, Cassel’s tuts just make it so easy. <3 ;D

Thank you sweet lady. As I remarked to Sue the layout was provided I just had to change up a few things to include the requirement for the challenge … I did have fun with the tuts and learned a thing or two in the process … as you do! Always appreciate your comments dear Corrie. <3 ;D
