The Campus is the perfect place to learn more about photo editing, various techniques, or PSP in general.

This challenge will give you an opportunity to practice some of those techniques or use some tools.

This month’s Tut/Tech Challenge is to use text on path. It might seem like a simple technique but it can be so versatile and something we might forget how to do, if we don’t do it often.

Here are two tutorials: for the basics and for additional tips.

I love text on a path and these tutorials are excellent.  This one is a simple play.  The background is a journal card by Rachel Etrog from PixelScrappers.  The paint splash is by Gina Jones from PixelScrappers.  I created the flower using the pen tool and was thus able to place the text on the flower stem.  The two fonts are Anmari and Bite Chocolate.  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;D

Tomorrow is the last day of June 2021.  I think I will post my latest “date stamp” since I had so much trouble with getting it through my head about how to make the text go in reverse!!!

Text on a path Campus challenge. There has been a baby boom this year of Ground Squirrels. These were born under the slab stones around the garden. They are about a month old, and haven’t long emerged for their nested burrows. I used 3 photos. One photo had three squirrels in and the other had four. Created masks. An adult is in the label. Text on a path, and reverse path. For the corner frame, I used the ellipse tool, duplicated and rotated, to write in the 4 corners. Used the pen tool for the border lines.

Thanks Annie, you  have created such fun pages.  I love them both my dear friend.

Wow, Annie – I really like that circular text and the background and ribbon match.  I see that your trademark is in the upper left corner this time!  Also, the colors in that layout really speak to me.

Sue – your baby ground squirrels are cute.  I like the frame and how you used the text in a path for the 4 corners.  I may try that soon.  Thanks for telling us how you did it.

Text on a path challenge. My first post in July. It was far to windy today to go kayaking, in fact it was blowing a hot gale. I decided to take a leaf out of the horses book, and stay indoors. They were happy to stay out of the sun and wind in the stable with their fans going full blast. Circle Text, text on a curve. I used the wood frame using the mitred corner script which I created for another project. The background paper is the photo extensively blurred. I cloned out the bird and log first. Created a flair button to go inside the circle text.

Mary, thank you for your kind comment. I’m pleased that I have inspired you. May I suggest you use the rectangle tool to create your vector path to create the frame, instead of the instructions I gave. Use the horizontal and vertical tools on the top tool bar to create the rounded corners. Then write your text on each corner on separate layers. You may find it easier. You can then delete the rounded corners, after you covert the rectangle to a raster.

Well I was up and out at 4am, to get done what needed to be done before it got to hot. Rode the horses, mucked out, everything was watered by 6am, ready to take on the heat. I did go kayaking, and swam for 3 hrs. By 3pm the temp was 41.9c. The weather report stated that the temps were going to peak today, and they did. Every morning I sit outside and wait for the squirrels to wake up, I have been feeding them carrots and bird seed, they eat while I shoot them (with the camera). I think I may have an infection of them, they are everywhere. Still on the Text on a path Challenge. I was in a framing mood. Word art, and I used the vector spiral to create the beads (tube) and wire, with the ivy weaved around it.

The heat wave continues, there isn’t any sign of it breaking either. The whole month of June has had temps in the 30’s. Celsius. I had another lovely afternoon on the lake in the kayak. Here is my last project for June. Text on a curve challenge.

I love all three of these pages Sue, my nature loving friend, beautiful work … of course! The world has gone topsy turvey as far as weather patterns go. I heard on the news that Canada has had a flood of heat realated deaths, how bizarre! Definitely not something I would expect to hear about Canada. Here in Australia the delta variant of COVID19 has taken a bit of a hold and state border closures are up and down like yo yos. In Bundaberg we are experiencing a wet winter … now that is unheard of! For as far back as man has been able to research there has been climate change so instead of trying to change that (as if) perhaps we just need to start looking at ways to adapt to it … and ways to stop harming nature! Stepping down from the pulpit, lol! ;D
