Scrapbooking Theme – Books

I love this quote from Charles W. Eliot:

Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.

Indeed, books are all that and more!

A book holds so much adventure, knowledge, experience, and feelings that you may never get to embrace in the real life. Once you’re in, chances are, the books just take hold of you until you finish it - and you emerge more experienced, more knowledgeable, more than ready to take on the challenges that life throws at you.

Below are just some wonderful, wonderful pages where books - and reading - take centerstage.

Young Readers

They say it’s better to start them young. Young readers make great leaders.

How young were you when you discovered the joy of reading and love for books? And hey, it is never too late to get started now. There will never be too old or too young when it comes to books.

Perfect Combination

If you love books, I’m willing to bet you are also a coffee connoisseur. Books and coffee pretty go together. You start the day reading a few pages as you sip a cup of freshly brewed coffee, or spend a lazy Sunday afternoon at your favorite cafe with a new book.

Library

Another favorite place for book lovers is a library, of course! There’s just a certain satisfaction looking at rows upon rows, shelves upon shelves of books.

e-Books

With technology has come convenience and when you can’t physically bring a book with you, an e-book can easily take its place. Read anywhere, anytime without having to bring the bulk of a book with you, especially if you are travelling.

However, some may argue that e-books can never take the place of a book - no flipping pages, no musty smell, no rough feel of the paper between your fingers. That may be true, but no matter how you do your reading and as long as you love it, then each to his or her own.

Get Lost in a Book

It’s so easy to get lost in a book. Have you tried it? It’s as if you never want to put it down until you’re done. There are even those kinds of books that you are willing to skip a meal because you are just so engrossed that eating lunch seems like a distraction.

Reading Challenge

Are you up for a challenge? Have you even tried to do one? A reading challenge is definitely one for the books!

You can add a fun title with these cutout letters. They were cut from an old text (made to be illegible), then a worn edge was added for an even older look. This alphabet includes all 26 letters plus 10 digits.

  1. Thank you Carole for the Alphabet letters, and the inspiration.
I saw the letters pass by in a work by Christina in the forum (What are you working on : post 6/10/2024), and I went looking for it!

  2. Oh My Gosh! These scrapbook pages are so inspirational for the book theme this month, wonderful. Thanks very much. And, the alpha is amazing … of course I accepted, mad not to! <3
