Although digital scrapbooking supplies are naturally used for digital scrapbooking, you can surely give them a second life. I have found that every now and then, a project comes up and even though it is not scrapbook related, I will open my graphic software and dig into my digital supplies to complete it.
Invitations and envelopes
Last year, someone in the family organised a surprise birthday party and wanted me to create some invitation cards. With a vague idea in mind, and a favourite color, I was able to create a flowery card, with a matching envelope. Although the card was printed directly from the Paintshop Pro print preview, I simply saved the envelope design and imported it into MSWord for printing.
Greeting Cards
Whether you are creating a birthday card, an anniversary card, or a Christmas card, you probably have a lot of digi supplies that will suit the theme of your card. Last year, I was designated volunteer to create the family Christmas card. Of course, it was easy to grab some holiday papers, and elements in the green and red palette.
Games
Whether it is for birthday parties, or a way to keep kids busy during a long trip, you can create games like this Bingo card. If you have several kids to occupy, create several cards with the same images, just in different locations. That way, the kids can team up, and have the same “find”, just in different places
Tags
Birthday tags and Christmas tags are fun, easy and quick to make and you likely have some supplies for that. Create several, and print them on cardstock and voilà! No need to run to the store because you are missing some tags. You can also create tags to go on school supplies like binders, notebooks, etc.
Calendars
Although one could expect to create a calendar with a layout on top, you might also create calendars using alphas from your digi supplies. Those calendars could be use for business purposes if you do not have a personal layout associated with it. Papers and alphas are great resources for creating calendars. Get them printed or simply use them as desktops.
Digiscrap supplies are much more versatile than only for scrapbook layouts. Look around you and see how many projects you can accomplish using supplies you thought was only for scrapbooks! Did you create non-scrapbook projects? Tell us about them. Even better, link us to them!
